Gateway DX4860 BIOS

I did a dumb mistake, I download the BIOD for P02.A2 because I upgraded my processor it flashed and I get the full speed of my processor, but what I did was downloaded the BIOS for a ACER not the Gateway and now my Startup/logo screen say ACER and not my normal Gateway and I didn't make a backup to my original BIOS. If anyone can point me to the Gateway BIOS for the P02.A2 I would be very grateful, Thanks for any help. Tried both files and both boot to ACER LOGO.

[Request] Alienware m15 unlock

I need to unlock an option in my m15 BIOS to change the IGD display aperture setting for use in passing a virtualized GPU to several VMs on it. The current setting only appears to allow for 64M, which is apparently only enough for a single 1024x768 VM. There is no such option in the BIOS at the moment, but the hardware should support it.

Looks like traditionally, alienware went with Phoenix... apparently this model went with AMI.

[HELP] Pegatron IPMEL-AE BIOS Microcode Modification

Hi all, 

I am having a hard time modifying my bios for the Pegatron IPMEL-AE Rev. 1.02 MoBo... I want to use a Q9550, which is compatible according to the manufacturer website. I put the new Q9550 in, but no POST. I suspect the microcodes are to blame. The new microcodes are updated as late as 2015 I believe for 10677 and 1067A codes. If anyone could help me modifying the BIOS, it would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know what I need to provide... Thanks all.

Hello, I was wondering if someone could help me with unlocking the bios in my computer? It's an Acer AM3450-UR30P running an AMI bios (AMI P01-A4 4/20/2012). I have tried flashing it multiple different times , and it tells me that the bios is Write-Protected... I was just wondering if there is any way around this? because at this point I am clueless and it wont allow me to use either of my graphics cards. Huh Huh Huh

- Bios download link from manufacturer site.
  • sp62234

- PCI ID of the Wifi/WWAN card that originally came with the laptop.
  • Realtek RTL8188CE 802.11bgn WiFi AdapterPCI:Vendor ID: 10ECDevice ID: 8176
- If the bios is RSA signed an acknowledge to be aware of the risks and an acceptance of them. Also note that many times is needed remove HPTOOLS partition before flashing the mod.
  • The drive has been wiped and a fresh install of Windows 10 has been placed on it, there is no HPTOOLS partition.I am unable to verify if the BIOS is RSA signed, I cannot find the download link for Andy's Phoenix Tool although reading the post the manufacturer BIOS files do end .bin and do start 01 and 03.

Lenovo B490 Bricked after update BIOS

Hi Everyone...

Need your help regarding my issue with Lenovo B490 Bricked after update BIOS.
The issue before i updated the BIOS was failed to enter Setup and based on my research that BIOS shortcut key is locked by lenovo(altered). 
Here why i was done before the system bricked.
1. I tried to update BIOS to latest one from Lenovo website.
2. New BIOS cannot be installed before i update to advised version. 
3. Download and flash BIOS using MS-DOS, showing flash bar but the result was failed.
4. Restart the system and it couldn't POST.

Symptom: 
- LED Power Button: On While then off, Looping.
- Try to Fn+R: ON more than a second, like 3-5 second, after that On While then off, Looping.
- Minimum POST w.o memory: Beep No Memory.

I suspected the issue w. BIOS Corrupted.

Tried to Recovery BIOS:
1. Download BIOS latest and advised update by lenovo.
2. Recovery using Lenovo.Phoenix.Crysis.Tool 
3. On this point i believed the disk i created was completed and able to use. 
4. Fn+R, LED Flashdisk showing read activity like 3-5 second but it turn off and continuing LED On While then off, Looping.

Based on my finding this system got 3 different BIOS and i also tried used all the BIOS 1 by 1 with result still failed.

Next action: 
Re-flash BIOS using Flasher tools (Ordered online).
I'm still not sure what BIOS file need to flash when the tools arrived, New BIOS / else? (Please suggest)

Seek ur help or for any suggesting for my issue to solved my problem.

Toshiba LX815-D1210 to i5...

Hello everyone!

I've got this wonderful (For what it is) Toshiba all-in-one, an LX815-D1210.  Its CPU is nominally a Pentium 988, on a G2 PGA socket.  The motherboard and chipset support up to 35w, so I swapped in a mobile i5 (g2 socket, 35w), and the machine flies, only gets up to about 40c under load...for about 10 minutes.  Then shuts itself OFF.  Not reboot, but OFF.  Turns right back on with no problem, but obviously that's not a good thing!

The board unfortunately uses a very locked down InsydeH20 BIOS, so I'm hoping the folks over in that subforum can help me out, perhaps it's a tweak on the voltage I need to do to get it to run stably...but, failing that...

Can I get a little assistance?

[REQUEST] Lenovo T495 BIOS unlock

I have recently purchased a Lenovo T495. It came with a Fibocom WWAN card. This card works in Windows but not in Linux because the Fibocom driver in Linux doesnt know how to switch the chip from PCIe mode to USB mode. Fibocom states that the user should disable PCIe in the BIOS to make it work but Lenovo does not have that option in the stock BIOS and Lenovo support tried to "fix" the issue by telling me to send it in for repair.

I would like to have the BIOS unlocked to show all the features/options. Hopefully it includes the ability to change the mode of the WWAN card. It would also be nice to be able to install other WWAN cards that do work OOTB. Apparently Lenovo didnt add the USB mode of the Fibocom WWAN to the whitelist either so I would assume the whitelist needs to be fixed too.

My laptop model is: 20NJCTO1WW

My current BIOS version is: R12ET35W1.05

The WWAN chip is the Fibocom L850-GL

I have attached the newest BIOS which based on the readme fixes basically nothing except something to do with the LIPC.

I have also noticed that for some reason in both Windows and Linux, my Samsung 970 EVO NVMe SSD caps out at 800MB/s Read/Write even though the laptop supports NVMe.

Toughbook CF-53mk4 help w BIOS password removal

I have a toughbook I set a BIOS password to and forgot it and need to change it. I can't access windows as forgot the password for it as well.

I purchased a ch314a mini programmer and have dumped a bin of the chip mx25L12873F which gave me the full bios. I then tried to replace the password data in the AMITSeSetup section and in another area I found it. Upon reboot the computer says bad checksum and reverts itself!
