Help with dump replacing Bios region

Hi all! I ve a Sony Vaio Laptop, which wont boot, I think is a Bios problem because sometimes its boots (show POST and start windwos after like 5 hours) but most of the time doesnt even show POST (black screen)

The strange think is, once it boot into windows, I can use it perfectly and suspend it, but if I turn it off then Ive the same problem described above.

So, short story long, I managed to save a dump using Ch341 programmer, (verified dump), and also I got a BIOS from official site of Sony (Bios Update).

I will need, if someone can help me, to replace the Bios Region in my Dump with Bios region form Offical BIOS form Sony.

The files are attached.

Ty very much!!!

PS: I read a lot but cant figure out how to do the process of replacing BIOS region, if someone is willing to tell me or show me some tutorial It will be very appreciated.

socket replacement and bios chip problems

Have been playing with bios cross flashing and hot flashing.
Have got an asrock am2/am3 motherboard (n68S ucc) and successful flash to a similar am2/am3/am3+ motherboard (n68gs fx).
Board works as it did before with an athlon II 620, however does anyone know where I could get a replacement CPU socket (am3/am3+)? To then try an fx CPU.
Was thinking of buying some dead boards off eBay for this

Also have cross flashed a Packard bell 775 board to an ecs bios (also working well and more options etc in bios).
And An Acer t180 to abit bios. (having spare bios chips from old boards has come in handy).

One problem I have come across, is with a couple of winbond 25X80AVAIZ bios chips I have, they both fail the verification after being flashed. Would anyone know why this is? (I have tried them in three different boards, and each time they do the same)

[Request] Unlock Phoenix bios 1.08

Hello everyone,

I tried myself to unlock the bios to access the intel menu but with no luck. I would really appreciate it, if someone could help me with it. The bios I need is for Acer Aspire 5735z. I tried to load a mod version 1.10 but the PH1614 program says something about platform mismatch or so and won't update. I assume that is due to the fact  that the 1.10 bios I found in this forum is for 5735 model and not for 5735z. So that's why I want to load a mod of 1.08 version. Thank you in advance for your support!

Asus P5PL2-E Core2 Quad Q6700 Support

Hi Guys,

I have an Asus P5PL2-E motherboard with bios version 1002 (last ever) without Core2 Quad CPU Support
Recently I have found that it is possible to run a Core2 Quad Q6700 on it
So I went for it and bought one
I have installed the Core 2 Quad Q6700 and it completely works and boots into OS.
The problem is the motherboard only detects 3 cores of the cpu instead of all four (both in the bios and os it shows 3 for the number of cores)
and when booting, bios shows: Intel CPU uCode loading error
Is it possible to add full support by adding microcode or doing something else?

Disclaimer: Do this at your OWN RISK! I will not be held responsible for anyone bricking their machine!

I made the mods based on @Lost_N_BIOS's post here and by following the How-2-Rip-It-Open-Yourself guide here.

Make sure you have your Aero's BIOS flashed to version FB0A using the official release on the Gigabyte website here before attempting the following.

First you must run command prompt (as Administrator) and run "FPTw.exe -bios -d biosreg.bin". You can get FPTw.exe from Intel CSME System Tools v12 r18 (located in the "Flash Programming Tool" folder).

Next you will need to run UEFITool 0.26.0 and open biosreg.bin. Select File->Search... Text tab and enter AMITSE. A list of search results will show at the bottom. Double click on "Unicode text "AMITSE" found in User interface section at offset 0h". Right click on the "PE32 image section" and select "Replace as is...". Browse to the (unzipped) file attached (Section_PE32_image_AMITSE_AMITSE.zip). File->Save image file... and call it biosmod.bin.

Then you need to run AMIBCP 5.02.0031 and open biosmod.bin to set the menu access to USER like so:

Once you File->Save run "FPTw.exe -bios -f biosmod.bin".

If you get the following error:
Quote:Error 167: Protected Range Registers are currently set by BIOS, preventing flash access.

This is caused by the BIOS Lock variable set to 0x01 (Enabled):
Code:
BIOS Lock, VarStoreInfo (VarOffset/VarName): 0xA12

How to set the BIOS Lock variable to 0x00 (Disabled):
1. Make sure you have following values set in BIOS:
  - Legacy Support: Disable
  - Secure Boot: Disable
2. Take USB stick and format to FAT32
3. Create directory structure EFI\Boot
4. Download and unzip bootx64.7z
5. Put BOOTX64.EFI into Boot directory
6. Boot from this USB stick
7. Run command: setup_var 0xA12 0x00
8. Run command: reboot

Attempt to write the modified BIOS again using FPTw.exe.

If successful this time run "FPTw.exe -greset" to reboot.

Press F2 to enter BIOS you should (hopefully) be greeted with some extra menus...

How to burn a HP bios on a IC ?

$

Hello,

I bought a old HP Probook 640 G1.
My problem is the seller dont know the BIOS password. This password is not resetable via CMOS. Its stored in the IC (non volatile).
I asked already in the HP forums there seems to be a way to reset the password (SMC.bin) but HP wants 300$ for this file.
So this is not really a option to me.

The IC is a W25Q128FV Serial Flash Memory.
Datasheet : https://www.winbond.com/resource-files/w...bsite1.pdf

I have a programmer to programm this chip.
I unziped the original HP bios setup. And there is a .bin inside.
https://imgur.com/a/8NfZ2GB

Does hp encrypt they're bin files ? Do i have to decrpyt the bin file befor i can burn it   ?

Is it possible to add the original serial-sumber again on the BIOS ?
Is there somehting else that i need to know how to do this ?

Thanks for any help,
Regards Int3g3r

[HELP] I bricked my acer E5-553-1786

Hello, I have the following problem, update the BIOS of my Acer E5-553-1786, but I had a problem and it could not be updated well and now it does not start, the ACER icon is not shown, it is like brick I have seen in some forums that there is a method of recovering the BIOS through a USB memory and the file ZABA.fd.
I did the procedure for the recovery of the bios:
1. Format the USB memory in FAT32 format
2. I put the file ZABA.fd in the USB memory
3. I turn on my laptop with FN + ESC, the power LED flashes but the USB  LED don´t flash.

However nothing happens, in what I have read, they say that the ZABA.fd file must be renamed correctly so that the BIOS recovery can be done but I don't know how to get the correct name to continue the procedure.

Can you tell me if it is the right procedure?
Is there another method?
I need something?

Sorry if my English is poor.

Thanks for your help.  Angel Rolleyes Sleepy
