Hello,

I bought a old HP Probook 640 G1.
My problem the seller dont know the BIOS password. This password is not resetable via CMOS. Its stored in the IC (non volatile).
I asked already in the HP forums there seems to be a way to reset the password (SMC.bin) but HP wants 300$ for this file.
So this is not really a option to me.

The IC is a W25Q128FV Serial Flash Memory.

I have a programmer to programm this chip.
I unziped the original HP bios setup. And there is a .bin inside.

Does hp encrypt they're bin files ? Do i have to decrpyt the bin file befor i can burn it   ?

Is it possible to add the original serial-sumber again on the BIOS ?
Is there somehting else that i need to know how to do this ?

Hey, 

attached is a flashrom dump from my ThinkPad x230's top chip which is the 4MB chip (also attached bottom if needed).

I'd like to ask if someone could change the whitelist to accept my Dell DW1510 card since I can't find any straight forward guides on it.

Current WiFi Card: Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 (8086/0085/8086/1311)
Desired WiFi Card: Dell DW1510 (Broadcom chipset) (14E4/432B/0086/1311) (The 0086/1311 on the end is a previous flash I tried)

MSI B350 Tomahawk Unknown Password

Recently bought a used board, turns out it has a bios password that can’t be cleared with a cmos reset, msi’s own website confirms that too.

Is there any way to dump and crack the passcode on this platform or am I SOL?

Sabertooth Z77 nVME Intel 660p - Cannot install Windows... Need help!

Hey all, I'm new around here, and this is my first post. Smile

I am trying to update a computer (my wife's actually) to boot off an Intel 660p on her Sabertooth Z77 motherboard. I followed the instructions here and the flash was successful. The SSD is in a PCIe casing.

I have tried using USB UEFI and CD UEFI to install Windows 10. Both were met with failure. The USB reported a BsOD saying the USB is corrupt (it isn't). In case of the CD, after asking to press any key to boot from CD, it reboots into non-UEFI low resolution Sabertooth Z77 logo and stays frozen there.

Non-UEFI wise, both USB/CD arrive at same result. On selecting partition to install Windows, I get a message saying that Windows cannot install on this disk and asks me to go into BIOS to enable this controller. Unfortunately, there is no nVME controller setting in the Z77 BIOS.
I tried playing with CSM options as well as DISKPART to no avail.

I should also mention the 660p is the only drive connected to the PC. I disconnected all other drives.

Perhaps there is a way one of you guys can help a fella out and see this resolved? I would really appreciate the help to get that PC booting off of that SSD.

I goofed and updated passed the unlocked bios 1.24 that's in the repository. Would it be possible to get 1.3 fixed? Or should I attempt to recover down to 1.24? I know it's an old laptop ( I inherited it from my father before he passed) but the 125mb vRAM cap is killing me smalls. I guess I need the Advanced Tab? System Config Tab?

Acer E5 553 13AB BIOS UNLOCK

Hi everyone,

I have an Acer E5 553 13AB laptop with an AMD A12 9700P APU that I would like help with.

I'd like to know if there are hidden options to be unlocked in this BIOS such as disabling PSP, fan speed control, Virtualization (The chip actually supports it), and overclocking, and if not, is there a way to add them?

It's a pain to enable VT through windows and thermal throttling is horrible.

Here's the link to the BIOS. I am currently using V 1.19 as V 1.31 caused issues and I had to revert to this one.

Hello Everyone,
I have a HP 14k020us that originally came with a 3G Huawei MU736 WWAN Module. In order to upgrade to a 4G module, I bought the Huawei ME906S-158. After replacing, it just WORKED FINE, for few days and than, I got an error message that this module is incompatible with my system, and NEVER WORKED AGAIN. I think the new 4G module is not allowed on my whitelist.
I am not an expert, all I know is that my HP runs an Insyde BIOS version F.21 (03/21/2017).
Can anyone help me remove my Whitelist or somehow include my new LTE card on it?

willing to test bios files for the abit nf m2s that have been modified to support am2+/am3 cpus.
i have a large selection of cpus i can test from am2+ phenom tri/quad /7750 dual core to am3 athlon ii dual/tri/quad and phenom ii dual/tri/quad, and also multiple bios chips i can use Smile

hopefully will help others with boards that have been updated with the abit bios

Hi guys. I dumped my BIOS using programmer and the SOIC clip. I tried using InsydeH20EZE tool to change the logo. After the flashing of modded BIOS computer booted but as if there was no boot logo. I got only the Windows Splash Screen. I dont know what i am dong wrong. I also prepared several logos for several resolutions. Reason for that is i found many logos inside the BIOS file and could not decide which one of them the BIOS using as a splash logo. Thank you all in advance.

Asus CM6330 memory options / P8H61-M Pro

Hi, I have Asus CM6330 (chipset H61 B3 revision) which is exactly the same motherboard as Asus P8H61-M Pro (rev. 3).
CM6330 is the OEM version of this mobo used in Asus Essentio CM6330 Desktop PC and many, many... many bios options are just removed!
I have i7-3770 and it works great, the mobo has Sata III and USB 3.0.
However, my problem is that bios has NO any options for memory. I can't change speed or latency. I have Kingston RAM 1886Mhz with 2 XPM profiles. One XPM for 1866Mhz and one for 1600Mhz on CL9.
But this bios can't use XPM profiles and mempry runs on JEDEC 1600Mhz with CL11.
Can someone add options for ram speed, latency and XMP?

I've tried to flash the chip with the bios from Asus P8H61-M Pro (rev. 3) using USB Bios Chip Programmer CH341A but then the mobo can't even boot.
That's strange because they are the same!

Is it possible to make P8H61-M Pro bios compatible with CM6330?
I'll be very happy if someone can modiffy P8H61-M Pro bios to run on OEM CM6330 mobo.

Sony Vaio AMI Microcode Update

Hello.

I would like to update all the microcodes of my Sony Vaio VGN-NS135E. I'm now using the original T3200 processor but I have bought a T9300 processor that is currently shipping to me. Inspecting the BIOS I saw the T9300 should be supported (the microcode is there) but I would like to update the microcodes to the latest version.

I have modded the BIOS using HxD and replacing the microcodes with the updated ones, but I'm not sure if what I did is OK. So I wanted to have a second opinion on how to mod this BIOS. 

This is the BIOS modded by me (all the microcodes updated). Is it correct? If you mod it using your tools (I don't know if they are the same as I used) do you get the same result? I just wanted a second opinion from an expert.
