I bought this laptop, 2 years ago sometime with in my first week of owning it I feel straight for Scam, and let them install "Software on it" thankfully my brother realized what was going on, and did a system wipe plus re-install, I also took it to shop to be fine toothed looked over. So I Stopped trusting ppl almost instantly horrible experience's with HP support, Microsoft support, Xfinity support, and yes even "Walmart" when I tried to exchange this laptop. but not getting into all that right now. So after 5 months of owning this laptop I noticed it was running wrong for its age, i had just upgraded their crappy HDD, for a Crucial MX500 SSD, and so I sent it to get looked at, it came back with a new mother-board and disc drive, not even a few weeks later I bought and installed "correctly" a Crucial M.2 SATA SSD, after being told 20+ more times for HP that this device couldn't support or mount it. (all I did was look at the "Cleaning" print out, a few months later they changed them and pointed out the slot... and they added on their site that does "now" support and can easily mount it.) well after I installed the M.2 I went to BIOS to set it up as boot / main drive. And i saw that I no longer ran ACHI or SATA, or that I could change boot device to anything other than UEFI, USB, Disc, and Legacy. and Had no more than access to the BIOS time/date viewed Issue list, enable disable Advance and boot PW, tpr enable/disable/hide. the boot of ither legacy or UEFI, I have tried many MANY solutions to FIX the BIOS but nothing worked, I saw no where for access codes and HP refused to "Help" me, Microsoft tried with 0 results except having me wipe and "clean install" windows 10, over n' over.. I'm Honestly surprised I didn't brick it than or yet, I was doing a Clean install twice a week for like 3 months. And since i had a repair warranty from the new mother-board I sent it out to HP again, this time i got a new keyboard and Mother-board. I finally gave up, a Year latter and I haven't a clean install since i got my Laptop from HP, by the way when i got it back i heard something rattling around inside, apparently who ever worked on my laptop didn't know how replace the 1 [censored] that held in my M.2. Thankfuly I check my things out before I use them or I would of been down an M.2, and that it came 3 screws but only needed one. I guess something good came from this because before they worked on it, support kept telling me I was lying or mistaken about the M.2.
So here I am, this Laptop has been out of circulation for a year now, and everytime I use it I still get as frustrated as then, with a new Bios and no new options, windows has semi recognizes my drives, When I run Disc Optimizer it uses Trim Not Defrag but it see's both of them as Disk - Drives and won't let me use on any appropraite drivers, even though I run Intel Rapid Storage, and Crucial's MX500 SSD updater a softwhere that run's SMART and device health checker and internal temp. No driver's What so ever. I solved most of "want's" for it. But this BIOS thing messes with me every time there's an update, a driver goes down, or install a new device, I want to upgrade my Ram but theres no F'ing way until i have at leaset 50% control of my BIOS and Drivers. And now since it's been over 2 years HP or Microsoft won't even bother with me unless I pay upfront.
Please any help, that works will be appreciated beyond my own comprehension right now. I'm currently working on the Driver and Controller/Operator and Bus situation, I should be able to [censored] off my OS very soon,
Side note the UEFI only does Device health and Hardware tests. + BIOS rollback or install's, but I use windows to install it, or CMD. From what i can tell the reason why I have 1 SATA/AHCI driver/controller is for the UEFI, but it's rather usless so if you have push out for that, or can help me make it useful I'd really like it. I also have my BIOS F.41 rollback on a micro SD card in case the newer messes up... again. I know very technical but I am quick study at the hard replacement and cleaning, plus I still slightly know how to mess around with CMD and PowerShell, So the simpler the better.
if I can get help with this I maybe you could also help me with 12y.o Acer Aspire1. I stupidly installed windows 10 on than upgraded the HDD 2 SSD and memory from 1 to 2GiG's (maxed) and I couldn't roll back to win7
