I made a Windows 10 install USB with Rufus, when booting from it, it just skips and goes to desktop by default. It has something to do with Rufus or the BIOS setting?

Broken Insyde-Bios Acer Aspire 4820TG
Ladies & gentlemen,
I interrupted a BIOS update and probably destroyed my Insyde BIOS. So I tried to do a BIOS recovery with different tutorials (for example https://www.bios-mods.com/bios-recovery/), but it did not work.
Model: AS4820TG
Product Name: Acer Aspire 4820TG-434G50Mn
BIOS Chip: bios-chip24
I have performed the following steps:
1. I got the correct BIOS file from the Acer website (BIOS_Acer_1.15_Windows.zip).
2. I unzipped BIOS_Acer_1.15_Windows.zip, came out the following files:
BIOS_Acer_1.15_Windows.zip \ DOS \ ZQ1_115.exe
BIOS_Acer_1.15_Windows.zip \ Windows \ ZQ1_115W.exe
3. I unzipped the ZQ1_115W.exe, came out the following files:
AtpTimerInfo.dll
ding.wav
FWUpdLcl.exe
InsydeFlash.exe
iscflash.dll
iscflash.sys
iscflashx64.sys
Platform.ini
xerces c_2_7.dll
ZQ1x64.fd
4. I formatted a 2GB USB stick with FAT.
5. I copied the file ZQ1x64.fd to the USB stick.
6. I have removed AC and the battery pack.
7. I connected the USB stick to the laptop.
8. I pressed FN + ESC and did not let go.
9. I have connected AC to the laptop.
10. I pressed the power button.
11. After 15 seconds the USB stick started to light up and I released FN + ESC.
12. The fan got louder. No beep. The screen switched between two blacks. The USB stick changes regularly between: 10-20 seconds light up, 3 - 4 times short flash, no light, 10-20 seconds light up... ...and so on.
13. I wait 10-30 minutes but nothing happens.
14. I turn off the laptop, remove the USB stick and turn on the laptop again.
15. I still do not get any output on the screen.
Have I made some mistakes? Or should I try another file? Or is there another solution without remove the chip?
I already tried every BIOS-file from the Acer homepage (v1.13-v1.25) and also a working and tested file from notebookreview.
Sorry for my poor English.
I dont have money for new hardware so it would be gladful if someone can help me with this issue, very very thank you.

Probook 450 G2 - BIOS unlock RAID option
Hello,
I have a HP Probook 450 G2 on which I'm trying to add 32GB m.2 ssd as a hdd cache using intel rapid storage / intel smart response. In order to activate hdd cache sata mode needs to be changed in bios from AHCI to RAID before caching option becomes available in Intel Rapid Storage Application. My problem is that the only option available in bios is AHCI (no IDE or RAID listed there).
It is possible to modify bios to make RAID option available in BIOS?

[REQUEST] HP Probook 4330S Wifi Whitelist Removal
Hello
I would like to request a non-whitelist BIOS Mod for a HP ProBook 4330S , latest BIOS version is F65 Rev A (sp85527) and can be downloaded
here:-
ftp.ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp85501-86000/sp85527.exe
If this bios is RSA signed, I accept all associated risks - I have a pile of these machines at work , they're going to be thrown out / recycled anyway so if I brick it it won't matter.
Unsure of current VEN / DEV / SUBSYS ID's (will check this in a couple of days) but the HP manual says it came with the following:-
Atheros AR9002WB-1NGB 802.11b/g/n 1x1 WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR Combo Adapter (HP Part #593127-001)
Realtek 8188BC8 802.11a/b/g/n 2x2 WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0+HS Combo Adapter (HP Part #602993-001)
I would ideally like to be able to use my Intel Dual Band AC 7260 from my current laptop (VEN 8086 , DEV 08B1 , SUBSYS 40708086)
Looking forward to hearing from you
Thanks!!

BIOS not working after being flashed
I don't know if this is the correct place to be posting this, so a bit of direction in this regard would not be taken amiss.
I have a socket 775 MSI 7529 motherboard and I am running Win 7. The BIOS version was AMI 2.60 for this motherboard.
I started having constant BSOD's, and eventually, after mucking about testing and changing drives, and RAM, and other things, decided to flash the BIOS.
I set up a USB flash drive with FreeDOS, loaded the appropriate MSI exe and flash data file (the latest being 2.80), and ran the procedure, which ran correctly, and finished without error.
I rebooted the computer, and the BIOS came up with the usual bits and pieces of what it found, drives etc., and then stopped with the F1 or F2 option. It also said that the checksum was not valid.
I took the F2 option, and the machine went ahead and loaded Win 7 without any errors or crashes. I then worked through Win 7 for a while (MS Word and one or two other things), all without incident, and without any crashes or BSOD's. A refreshing change to the previous few weeks.
However, when I shut the machine down, and then restarted it, it got as far as flashing the HDD and CD ROM drive lights, and then sat and gave me the blank, black , glassy, one-eyed, fishy stare.
I eventually removed the battery, and restarted the machine, and the BIOS again went through telling me what it found, and again gave me the F1 and F2 options, with the checksum message.
And this is what it has been doing. The moment I switch off, I cannot restart. I have to remove the battery, take F2, and then the machine loads the OS.
I decided to re-flash back to BIOS v2.6, and am getting the same result.
It also happens if I go into the BIOS on F1 or DELETE. It won't restart, and I have to do the battery "thing."
The fact that the [censored] thing does work seems to me to indicate that basically the process is correct, but it is entirely possible that there is some setting or tweek or other that I know nothing about that I need to include.
It also does this even if I disconnect all the drives, and try and reboot from the USB flash drive. I still have to do the battery "thing."
Does anyone have any ideas on this? For the sake of common humanity and my sanity if nothing else!!! LOL.

MSI B75A-G41 password reset
Hello everyone.
First of all I'm new on this forum and don't have much experience with BIOS so I will try to explain everything best I can. I will also appreciate if someone can explain me step by step what to do.
So my problem is years ago I bought my PC with MSI B75A-G41 mobo and put BIOS password on it which after 7 years I don't remember. I probably also set Reset password option to disable. Not sure about that but I've been trying to reset CMOS by JBAT1 bumper and battery remove, date and time reset's but password still show's up
I've been contacting MSI support but the only respond I get is to contact with local vendor, which I did but they couldn't help me.
I've also read this thread https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...#pid146293
problem seems similar to mine, I've tried this method but I get only error's in console:
"C:\Users\[censored]\Desktop\FPT V11\FPT V11>FPTw.exe/bin -bios -rewrite -f E7971IMS.BE0
PMXUtil: Error during PMX Call: idrvdll.dll!IDRVInstallDriver(): Couldn't Open S
ervice Manager err (5)
Error 366: Fail to load driver (PCI access for Windows).
Tool needs to run with an administrator priviledge account."
I don't know if the method is proper for my MOBO and what I'm doing wrong. Maybe there is other option to reset my password?
Hope some of you guys can help me cuz im fighting with this for few days and im really getting tired of this.
Thanks in advance for any response.

GA-5AX patch injection for RAS Precharge Time and Internal Tag RAM
Hello everybody
Do you optimize the BIOS of old mainboards, too?
I've got an old Gigabyte GA-5AX (Rev 5.2) Super Socket 7 board with ALi Aladdin V chipset (Rev H). This latest chipset revision has a working internal Tag RAM. However, unlike other manufactures (e.g. Asus, Jetway) using chipset revision G, Gigabyte didn't enable it. Instead, they continued using a slower external Tag RAM.
I tried to enable internal Tag RAM during running OS sessions without success: changing operation mode of L2 Cache using TweakBIOS or WPCRedit resulted in instant reboot i.e. disabling/enabling L2 cache completely (whereas that can be done in BIOS-Setup without any trouble), enabling internal TAG RAM, or disabling external Tag RAM.
Therefore, I like to try enabling internal Tag RAM during POST by changing some register settings of the northbridge. To do so, I read "BIOS Disassembly Ninjutsu Uncovered" by Darmawan Salihun and adapted his mem-optimize patch to my purpose.
However, as this is the first time I'm writing a computer programme I'm not sure whether it's free from error.
Moreover, injecting it into the BIOS binary file, finding the POST jump table, and creating a jump instruction to the patch there turned out to be a too difficult task for me
Please, can you help me injecting and executing a patch that enables the internal Tag RAM of my motherboard's chipset?
At first, as a proof of concept that the method works, I like to inject a patch that sets RAS Precharge Time (tRP) to 2T.
Normally, tRP is 3T at FSB 100 MHz. However, it can be lowered to 2T during running OS session using TweakBIOS or WPCRedit without any trouble.
If this works then I would just replace the first patch by a second one that tries to enable internal Tag RAM additionally.
These are the two patches (based on Darmawan Salihun's memory optimization) I wrote in FASM 1.73.12 (Windows version):
- tRP.ASM patches only memory timing
- TAG-tRP.ASM patches both Tag RAM and memory timing
The BIOS 5AXSOMOD.F42 I'm currently using is a patched version of Gigabyte's latest BIOS F4.
It was patched using BIOS Patcher 6.00.alpha_15 from www.ROM.by.
In addition, some hidden options were revealed with modbin.
It would be great if this version could be used for injection. You can find all files
- patched BIOS "5AXSOMOD.F42"
- patch protocol "readme.txt"
- first patch "tRP.ASM"
- binary file of first patch "tRP.BIN"
- second patch "TAG-tRP.ASM"
- binary file of second patch "TAG-tRP.BIN"
attached to this post

If the patched BIOS file is not suitable, Gigabyte's GA-5AX original BIOS F4 is also appreciated:

[Request] HP Probook 6470b whitelist removal.
Confirmed to have a whitelist, shows an error 703 when plugging in a wifi card not within the whitelist.
Another request for the same laptop has already been made, but it's pretty old and I didn't want to bump.
Another user said that the whitelist has been removed, but it 100% has not been, even with the latest version of the bios.
The bios can be found here: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp96001-9...p96091.exe
It has been confirmed that the whitelist breaks compatibility with exp gdc mPCIE, and that's what I'm having trouble with.
BIOS name: sp96091
