I have a feeling this BIOS has long since been unlocked, and I did look through the page of confirmed Insyde BIOS mods, but I'm unfortunately not sure which one is the right one, and definitely don't want to brick the laptop on an uneducated guess. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I came here wondering if MSATA SSD support was possible to be added, as the laptop has a spare mSATA slot that was meant for a WAN card. this thread gave me hope that this was possible, as a helpful user linked the OP to this thread. But the OP's was a dv4 model, so I figured I'd double check before barreling in head first.

CPU: i7-620M

Latest Official BIOS: F.1C

EDIT: After spending an hour or so searching the site, the one BIOS mod that seems like it'd be the one to try is the one linked in this thread. Would appreciate confirmation on this! Thanks!

EDIT 2: Bit the bullet and tried Camiloml's sp48953 BIOS. It was the correct one for my machine, so that make me feel a little better about my understanding of all the hard work everyone does here. Unfortunately, it didn't do anything in regards to MSATA compatibility; the machine still doesn't recognize it. If anyone can provide some insight into whether this is or isn't possible, I'd appreciate it. In the meantime, at least I'm whitelist free. Thank you, Camiloml!

main reason I want to unlock
1. undervolt CPU and RAM (for temperature stabilization) 
2. iGPU options like disable or enable it or reduce/increase the RAM usage. (option to disable it so i can use the GTX 1650 directly via HDMI)
3. Manual fan Controls (I don't care if its loud like jet engine, I just want the temp down and i wear headset or earbuds anyways)
4. Overclock CPU and RAM (just to see how much i can push the CPU to the limits)

used AMI Firmware Update (AFU) Apito V to save currently installed bios attached in the post

[REQUEST] Acer Aspire A515-52G MX250 BIOS Modding

Hello, I'm using the Acer Aspire 5 A515-52G-593E, which is the MX250 equipped version of the A515-52G. The CPU and GPU performance of my laptop was not good than I expected. After monitoring the system, I found that a throttling starts at 70°C.

To extract the BIOS, I downloaded and unzipped the latest BIOS exe file provided by Acer. This is the link to the Google drive in the uncompressed exe file.

At the top of the files, there's a bin file that looks like a source of BIOS. I don't know exactly if it is a BIOS, but I'm sure it is. Could anyone mod this BIOS for the solution of throttling?

I don't know anything about BIOS modding, and I found out this community today during googling. If there are any regulations that I have not followed in writing, please send me a DM so I can know. Thank you.

I would like to replace/update the gop driver:

Hi,I have a Dell Inspiron N5050, And I want to unlock Vram Settings in my bios and i followed this tutorial : https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-G...EFI-Aptio4

I Dumped my BIOS into n5050.rom http://www.mediafire.com/file/hekf386jhm...0.rom/file 

and whenever i try to open it in AMIBCPv4.55.0070 i get an error (attached file) , But it opens just fine in MMTool 4.50.0.23 and UEFITool 0.28 

I Just want to edit the setup configuration to show the dedicated vram option(128mb,256mb,512mb...etc)

And Im new to this so please help me Sad

[HELP] ASUS GL553VE BIOS Recovery

Hi, as per thread title.

My brother's laptop has been running Windows 10, and I think it was updating. It was idling, and the next moment no screen.

The laptop does power on, RGB Lights flash on and stay static, no HDD/SDD activity. I have determined it is not a RAM or any other issue, most likely a borked bios?

I used FlashROM with a Arduino (lockdown in my country due to COVID-19, so no soic clip or access to proper hardware) to dump the raw BIOS file.

It seems like it is corrupted, I cannot really determine.

Intel ME version seems to be version 11.6 from UEFITool (Compiled on Ubuntu)

Insyde F1.B BIOS Update Fail on DV6-6111sf

Hello,

Would it be possible to help me create a USB recovery key with the Bios F1.B for the HP Pavilion dv6-6111sf computer? I wanted to bypass the WIFI / Bluetooth whitelist to be able to install a hackintosh compatible card. For that I downloaded a modified version of the bios F1.B on your site to update mine. When InsydeFlash was launched, more precisely at the "Erasing and writing" stage, my computer freezed  Huh . I waited 1 hour before disconnecting the battery. Since then I can no longer start the computer. Can you help me create a recovery partition on my USB key?

Things I did:
-Try to go through the HP recovery with win + b key but I don't have an HP_Tools partition on the pc.
- Try to disconnect the CMOS battery

I have an Asus G751JM here and need to unlock my bios, which is Aptio 4.
So, i changed the access levels from DEFAULT to USER using AMIBCP (tried both v4.53 and v4.55.0070) and saved it.
Problem is that, when i try to flash it with AFUWIN, i get "3-error:rom file size does not match existing bios size".
Also tried both WinFlash and EasyFlash but with no sucess. It even says that i got the correct BIOS file at first, but then it says that the BIOS file is invalid when i attempt to flash it.
Can somebody help me please?

I don't know if I need to use any "special" AMI flasher to inject or I need a mod Bios to save my key in the Bios...

[REQUEST] AMD Athlon 64 X2 3250e on Asus M4A78L-M LE

Hello all,

Sitting at home recently (like a lot of people) and decided to pick up some hobby projects. So I have a low power cpu (salvaged from a laptop), the AMD X2 3250e which I have been hoping to get working on a ASUS M4A78L-M LE for a NAS build.

So it boots and the motherboard recognizes the CPU correctly, however when I boot in Openmediavault (based on debian) the kernel gives a warning that no ACPI _PSS objects were received. As a result Cool n Quiet is not working.

So I have not found a bios from exactly the same chipset which does officially support this CPU but there are motherboards out there which officially support this CPU with similar chipset (e.g. 780G, whereas this the 780L)

Would be really grateful if somebody can help with this (or point me in the right direction how to do it myself)

Hi,

I've this laptop for a while now. Decided to add some extra gaming performance with egpu Gtx 1660 6GB connected using m.2 port or instead wifi/Bluetooth card. Problem is that anytime I turn eGPU on windows won't load and stuck with a black screen.
Can you guys help me out there?

Hi

I'm very new to this BIOS unlocking so please bear with me.

I saw this post about the Aero 15x v8 and was wondering whether or not I can use the bios that user Lost_N_BIOS provided in post #10 for my laptop as well?

Since my guess would be that I probably can't, I'll include my bios from gigabyte's website and some screenshots from cpu-z. I would really appreciate if someone could take a look at it.

Hi, 
I need to unlock bios for virtualization, my cpu is compatibile with AMD-V but QEMU and VMWARE give me and error regardin disabled virtualization (passthrough). 
I read that the problem is due to an option in the bios, but i can't  find anything

Dell Precision M4600 Laptop Slice Battery Support?

I have three Dell M4600 Precision laptops. They are very good for the price I paid and have given me years of service.

I wanted to add an extra battery to my laptops and purchase the KJ321 slice battery for this purpose. Assuming that the E-Dock port underneath the laptop would support this battery.  I purchased two of these slice batteries and charged them up overnight.

Turns out they are not supported, except that they are… ... allow me to explain.


The Slice battery is identified correctly by the ePSA Pre-boot System Assessment, but not the BIOS and thus, not the OS. In my case the OS is Windows 10 Pro (64 bit)


Here is the primary battery installed, properly identified:

Here is secondary battery installed and properly identified:
