REQUEST New CPU for my FIC GE5

Hey there,
I got this Mini-Pc for a while now.
It worked flawlessly up until a Year ago. Then the cpu's integrated Graphic-chip started doing displaying Pixel-sector-Errors and gave me blue-screens. Even Ubuntu always froze after 30 seconds.
So I decided To swap the i3 340m for a i5-450m, stocked up the RAM to 8gb and got a new ssd, to boost it up a little.
Here's the Problem: At POST it tells me, it's missing the "Microcode for an alternate Processor".
As far as I understood, all there is needed for this mod, is the original BIOS-file, extracting the original Micro-code and replacing it with the new one.
So I tried and searched and did, what i could, but no matter which way i try to go, there's alsways some crucial progam not working.
In addition this PC is kinda rare and there's not much documentation about it, but apparently it would even work with an i7-Mobile-CPU.
To make it short: I tried and failed.^^
Well, apart from that, it's working, but not as smooth, as it could.
The BIOS is still untouched and working fine.

What I need ist a flashable BIOS-Image for Winphlash with the new Processor-Microcode.

Data:
PC-Model: FIC GE5 PCF-55
Bios: Phoenix
Bios ID: IOAE8D
Date: March 25th, 2010
CPU: Core i5 450m
CPU-ID: 20655

I attached the Rom Bios Explorer -File, a Winphlash Backup, the Microcode for the new CPU and the report-file from CPU-Z (altough it's with the old RAM and SSD).

Thanks ahead.

P.S: I'm german, so my English might be bad.^^

[REQUEST] Lenovo Thinkpad T430 (2.81 (G1ETC1WW)) Whitelist Removal

I'd like to request a whitelist removal from bios of my t430. I dont actually want to use a wifi card in it (it had already working one in second slot) - i want to run this miniPCI -> usb hub: https://pl.aliexpress.com/item/329917519...5c0fTNoO8k
Its working on asus laptop my friend has, so it _should_ work on laptop i have, after removing the whitelist

Make: Lenovo
Model: Thinkpad t430
BIOS Ver. : 2.81 (G1ETC1WW)
Original Wireless Adapter : none
Wireless Adapter ID : none
BIOS download: https://support.lenovo.com/pl/en/downloads/ds029252 ( the 2.81 one please, im using EC flash for 7row keyboard and battery whitelisting and its compatybile with the bios without encryption - i'd like to preserve this functionality). If its possible, i'd like the battery whitelist to be included in the bios as well, but not the 7row mod - i still swap keyboards every few weeks if im working in dark environment.
Thank you very much in advance,
A.

[Requesting] Sony Vaio VPCEH3B1E Whitelist/Unlock for eGPU

Hello. I have a Sony Vaio from around 2011/2012. Would it be possible to Whitelist the mPCIe slot, or even unlock the bios entirely.
So I could use the eGPu.

Whenever I boot it up with the GPU, the screen goes Black.
I've tried it with Nando's setup 1.35 (Via Hotplugging). It detects the GPU within the Setup, but when I log into Windows and go into device manager the GPU doesnt show up (This is set up with compaction and link restraining. Works like a charm on my Dell. Sony Vaio not so much).

The only thing that happens is one of the PCI to PCI bridges Gives me a Code 12. So I'm assuming a whitelisting problem. And I've searched around too, found some pieces, but nothing relating to the specific Model No.

So I'm asking for some help here. I'm not sure what you guys would need. So I'll list some info and the Current Bios Package Installer.

ECS H61H-G11 BIOS ISSUE

I thought i would sign up here as all my research kept pointing here. If some advice could be thrown my way i would appreciate it. Right, got this motherboard for my cousin ECS H61H-G11 V1.0 and he bought an 17 3770S for it which wouldn't work unless i updated the BIOS. This board has an LVDS socket on it by the way. I downloaded the CPUEVO BIOS from ECS's website, was the correct version for this board (V1.0). While installing Windows 10 the screen goes blank at the end of the installation and i believe the output is going to the LVDS port. Ubuntu ran fine which is strange. Nothing wrong with his Winodws copy, tested it on another board. I found some info on this board and it seems the BIOS needs to be edited to disable the LVDS outputon a site about the G11 AIO PC where this board is being used but they used the Intel Integrator Tool Kit.

ECS told me that the board hould be fine using just the HDMI but as i described above the LVDS needs to be disabled and there is no option in the BIOS.

I tried AFUDOS mybios.rom/O and it comes back with a can't read error, i also tried to update to the very latest 2013 BIOS but it says there is a mismatch error, also tried BIOS recovery method, ran Phoenix Tool to get the name of the file and it suggested H61H-G11.CAP and .ROM.
The board boots into DOS via USB without any problems. So, how can i edit the BIOS to disable LVDS? Is the recovery method really dependant on USB type? I used a 16gb USB stick, even created a 4gb partition using DISKPART so it can be formatted FAT16. My apologies for a long firts post, any help will be appreciated.

[REQUEST] Acer E5-521-8948 unlock AMD-V

I have an Acer E5-521-8948 with the A8-6410APU

I am not 100% sure if AMD-V is enable correctly.

I don't see it as a menu item in the BIOS, but, I do see that systeminfo reports:

Hyper-V Requirements:
- VM Monitor Mode Extensions: Yes
- Virtualization Enabled In Firmrware: Yes
- Second Level Address Translation: Yes
- Data Execution Prevention Available: Yes

I want to reformat it and install Ubuntu 18.04LTS and use VirtualBox instead.

If I am going to flash a custom bios, I would rather do it now with Win10 installed then go through the process of installing Ubuntu, finding it is not working, and then have to re-install Win10 (all over again).

Here is the current 1.04: Acer 1.04 insyde update

Clevo P775TM1-G AMI BIOS recovery

Hello,

I'm trying to enter recovery mode on a bricked Clevo P775TM1-G.

Pressing Fn+B during POST does make it read from the USB drive but after a few seconds (USB drive with LED blinks for about 3 seconds) it just gives up and does nothing, no matter how long I leave it.

Reading from the USB drive occurs only after the keyboard lights have finished their show(seriously, whoever programmed this had a lot of time on his hands).

It does seem to recognize AMIBOOT.ROM and BIOS.ROM files because if the filename changes, then the LED on the USB drive only blinks for 1 second before giving up.

I've tried with all BIOS versions I could, olded to newest, but what I would really want is 1.05.09 as this is the last known version to work properly.

BIOS chip is MX25L6473F . BIOS is AMI Aptio if I remember correctly but BIOS files are from manufacturer so it shouldn't matter.

CH341A programmer is on its way but I was hoping to do something in the meantime.

I've attached a service manual, maybe it helps. Page 75.

I'm at the end of my knowledge. I hope someone could please help with this.

Thank you

Hi,

I am hoping that there are more advanced CPU and other options within this Bios that can be unlocked, in particular if there is anything that would allow the adjusting of how much power the CPU can draw before being throttled (as I upgraded the CPU and although this works it throttles it at far under the TDP of the chip)

Ivy Bridge support for Lenovo Thinkcentre M71e

Hi! Long time user, first time poster here. I've got a slight problem. I've got a ThinkCentre M71e that I'm planning to upgrade to an i5 3470 but it doesn't officially support Ivy Bridge processors. It's an H61 Chipset so it should technically support Ivy Bridge processors, right?
I'm pretty good at soldering and I do have a bunch of spare parts available. I've attached both the BIOS the board is using right now as well as the BIOS of an Intel DH61WW motherboard which also uses the same chipset and looks (vaguely) similar. Latter of which *does* support Ivy Bridge processors. As of now, the board doesn't display anything on the screen and it turns on and off in regular intervals when I install the i5. Other than that it doesn't do an awful lot. No beeps either. The spec code of the i5 is SR0T8. Thanks a lot!

[BIOS] Acer Predator PH317-51 - BIOS bricked? Windows runs fine.

Hi guys,

I'm kinda new here and still learning. I'm looking for a way to get any version of Linux going on my gaming laptop, the ACER Predator Helios 300. Here's everything I've tried so far:

The problem
Since I bought this laptops second hand, I don't really know what happened before that, but I know I couldn't get into BIOS when I got the laptop in the first place. I've been stuck on this problem for a while now, and I literally spent entire free days reading on forums and tinkering with new tools, bios versions etc. But I somehow just can't get into my UEFI BIOS settings..

My wishes
Why I want to get into the bios: Because I want to make the switch to a native Linux installation on my main rig. And to achieve that I therefore need to disable Secure Boot.

Symptoms
- Windows runs fine, I've had this ACER for over more than two years now and I never had any problems.
- When I press the designated F2 key to enter BIOS, a static underscore displays in the top-left, it doesn't blink and the bootproces freezes from here.
- On force shutdown and letting Windows boot normally all is fine. Everything works flawlessly, I can game, perfomance is great, but I just can't get into BIOS.

Things I've tried
- Battery reset button on the button and holding it for at least 60 sec. When power adapter was plugged and when I was unplugged.
- Replacing CMOS battery and waiting 10 min. in between while internal battery was disconnected.
- Re-flashing bios of the same version, even did downgrades (by modifying options.ini) to see if any of the older versions would make a difference.
- Afterwards let Windows download the latest BIOS update for me (v1.21), same results..
- Re-flashing the BIOS via USB and holding Fn + ESC and pressing the Power(on) button.
- Bought a SIOC8 + SPI programmer so I could dump and reflash my bios on hardware-level.
- Removing 1 of the 2 RAMs and retrying all the above steps.
- I did a bios-mod unlock request thinking this would solve the problem.. and it did not, but at least I have a my own dump now with all options unlocked lol.

Specs
Model: Acer Predator PH317-51
BIOS-version: v1.21 (Insyde)
BIOS-chip: Winbond W25Q64JVSIQ 1715

As I don't know to much about bioses, reflashing or modifying them, this is all that I've managed to achieve and learned so far.. but I think I might be running out of options here. Can anyone help me on this, I'll be happy to provide you with dumps, log files etc. But I can't wait to finally make my move to Linux. Big Grin
