[REQUEST] MB-7580U Read-Only removal (WatchGuard XTM515)
Hi,
I want to re-use a WatchGuard XTM 515, but the BIOS options are all view only. I tried all AMIBCP versions I could get my hands on, but all Windows versions tell me they could not load the file. All DOS versions load the BIOS, but there are no items for the setup positions where I can change the read only configuration. So up to now, I am out of ideas. So please tip me some hints or take a look at the appended file.
There is another BIOS version for the MB-7580, but not the U and the version number and date is also different. Before bricking my board, I would modify the original BIOS to my exact device. I read the image by Amiflash.
Thanks in advance,

MSI 880gm-E41 BUOS backup and upgrade procedures
Hello and my first post in here and BIOS mods.
This older board MSI 880gm-E41 is too cryptic for me to understand. Initially I had the error of not using
a thumb drive in FAT32. I now have that.
Major Geeks has a Universlal Bios Backup freeware. I ran that and it seemed to go ok
There are 8 BIOS upgrades for this MSI board. I selected to download the one immediately
follwoing what is on the board and I've not done the procedure before.
Errors appear at the old style MSI 880 BIOS screen. And there are instructions as to when to
insert or remove the FAT32 pen drive. Also something about renaming conventions and
an obscure file type. I have seen the text file that downloads with the selected BIOS download.
There's just not enough to follow on the M-Flash single screen to proceed.
After all the time passed since this board was new, perhaps someone with the same
motherboard then or now can give a complete procedure.
My feeling has been that thare's a manual page missing from the whole operation.
There is nothing in the user guide I have about any of it.
The 880gm board works fine. I'm hoping for efficiencies for using an SSD and perhaps
more memory.

[REQUEST] HP G62-a60EC Whitelist Removal
Hi, I am new here...
I have the HP G62-a60EC and i tried to install new wifi module - but I can't cause of the wifi white-list.
notebooks serial: 4CZ02900XS
its product name: WQ289EA#AKB
Original wifi/BT installed was Ralink RT3090BC4 V20A
VEN: 1814 DEV: 3090
I am trying to install Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 (if I install it after BIOS check - then its working)
the original bioses from HP:
sp55428 - F.2A from 6. 12. 2011
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-5...p55428.exe
sp55657 - F.2B from 6.1.2012
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55501-5...p55657.exe
I can't find Andy's tool anywhere, so I can't check if the BIOS is RSA signed, but the notebook is from 2010 - so I hope not to be RSA signed.
But if the semibrick can be repaired again by flashing original BIOS, it's not a problem then, is it?

[REQUEST] HP Pavilion dv7-1129wm InsydeH20 rev. 3.5 ver f.23
I'm a newbie, and I'm looking for advanced settings. Swapped out the original HDD for an SDD and there isn't an advanced menu in the bios, which is preventing me from accessing the peripheral settings to change the setting from I'm assuming IDE to AHCI. Like I said before, I'm very new to modding BIOSes, and the only thing I know is what I've read on the BIOS Update page. Oh, and while I'm thinking of it, where do I find the switches for Insyde BIOSes? So, any tips, tricks, or step by steps that you could point me to would also be appreciated. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.

EEPROM ISSUE
Lenovo Y710 Cube-15ish
After reinstalling Windows and formatting the disk all the serial numbers, uuid, preinstalled os type and oa2.1 oa3 keys disappeared form windows. I could reinstall 'machine type and model', uuid and some serials by updating windows (version O2DKT23A) using official windows app. Serial numbers of motherboard, cpu disappeared. And then appeared a text "Press enter for a normal startup" but nothing changes when I press enter. The text just disappears.
I tried lenovo maintenance diskette, but when I try to read or write smth it says "EEPROM cheksum error" else I can't set anything there. (It gives me an another errors when I try to do something else (for example set uuid) I can write them down if required)
So I can update my s/n only using bios update utility.
How to get out of the "EEPROM cheksum error" and other errors?
I can't set System Brand id and some programs don't work because of it.![Sad Sad]()

Asrock Rack C612 ES CPU support
I got:
1 EP2C612WS
2 EPC612D8A
4 ES CPUs
2 normal CPUs
an EEPROM programmer (in case I bricked a bios and couldn't get bios splash screen)
the thing is: all 4 of the ES CPUs work on the EP2C612WS. none of them work on either of the EPC612D8A, Dr Debug gives a "Cd" error code. The boards boot with normal CPUs.
so I got mmtool aptio, looked at the microcodes of both of the bios and saw that the entries are different.
I extracted the microcodes of the EP2C612WS bios and deleted the microcodes of the EPC612D8A bios and inserted the EP2C612WS microcodes.
With this new bios the board post and boots with normal CPUs but still doesn't post with the ES CPU ("Cd" error code).
you guys any idea if I should do something else? or is that not how this ES CPU unlocking works?

ACER TMB118-R BIOS unlock
I'm trying to flash my TMB118-R netbook. Currently it has a BIOS password set (from previous owner who cannot remember it), which is preventing me from re-imaging. Not a big deal at this stage, because the current O/S is running fine.
I have extracted the files in the EXE using 7-ZIP and have tried to modify the [forceflash] section under Passwords and set it to 1, but that didn't work.
I have used extractor to extract the file inside the flashfile and used UEFITool to view it, but not sure what to do next to modify it and then put it all back together.
Out of desperation, I tried to use a hex editor to modify the flashfile, which contained the details from the platform.ini file, but although the flash utility was happy with it, upon reboot it errors out trying to install, due to the file size/hash change.
Anyone out there able to either give me some pointers or modify the attached flash file so it forces the password to reset?

After Inserted a Kingston half size SSD, BIOS and Windows can't detect this disk. I have tested +3V_SATA, wire to PCH(SATA port 1) are OK."SATA1GP / GPIO19" is pulled up used as Boot BIOS Selection 0 [bit-0] for SPI.
It seems BIOS have blocked SATA Port 1,because SATA Controller's PCI config space shows offset 0xE00FA092==0x21(Bus0,Dev31,Func2 ONLY Port 0 and 5 Enabled).

Help on updating Bios on Samsung NP-R480-JT01CL
Hello! I'm currently trying to update the BIOS on my laptop (NP-R480-JT01CL), as it appears to be an old version (09SZ), but the tools on the official pages of Samsung are not working, and even talking to customer service has proven unhelpful. While searching the web about the topic I have found that there were several updates, getting to the 12SZ for the NP-R480, as it is stated on another topic of this forum (https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...IOS-unlock). The same topic has a link to a BIOS file, but i'm still unsure if it is usable or even compatible with my model.
Can I use that file as it is, following the tutorial on BIOS updates, or do I have to take other things in consideration?
Thanks in advance
