I tried to add SLP and SLIC 2.1, but PhoenixToolKit 2.66 says it's an unknown BIOS, and AwardTool 1.53 says "Status FAILED". There are 2 512kb BIOS files, one includes boot splash screen (.bsa) and the other doesn't (.bfa).

-Manufacturer: Biostar
-Motherboard Model: P4M80-M7A v7.X
-Bios revision: P4M800-M7A_93_bios (boot mentions P4M8MA11 BF, 10/11/2006)
-Bios Type: Says Phoenix in the BIOS menu...
-Slic: any 2.1 for Win7
-Cert.: any for XP
-Bios and acpiTbls.rw: https://www.4shared.com/s/fg9Hcb8_2da

Any help is welcome.

EDIT: problem solved, path was too long. BIOS with HP SLP/SLIC 2.1, flashed with "Upgrade BIOS" option within BIOS, correctly activates XP and Win7 (bsa=with splash screen, bfa=without splash screen): https://www.4shared.com/s/fxNyfy7QSda

Westmere EP (Xeon 56xx) support for Fujitsu-Siemens D2618-Bx

Hi, Folks.

Can anybody help me with my trouble?

I have Fujitsu-Siemens D2618-Bx mobo and two Xeons x5675.
Unfortunately D2618-Bx officially doesn't support 56XX Xeon CPUs at all (even e5620).

Exist another mobo D2618-Cx, which technically looks abs. the same and it supports whole family of Westmere EP CPUs, including x5675.

I tried forced flash D2618-Cx bios on my D2618-Bx, but Fujitsu soft didn't allow to do that.
Also i tried to use file P6_INTEL.ALL with microcodes from Cx bios-pack to update microcodes on by Bx. Microcodes were updated, but it actually didn't help to run e5620 or x5675 on Bx mobo. Confused

Can somebody pls provide me a solution or an advice how i can fix this issue and mode the bios to make the D2618-Bx support Westmere EP (Xeon 56xx) CPUs?

Many thanks.

p.s.Bios-packs for D2618-Bx (doesn't support Xeon 56XX) and D2618-Cx(support Xeon 56XX) are attached.

T420 & T430 CPU and RAM Upgrade

Hei. I have T420 and T430 which i want use as two backups
I'm considering upgrade both of them (T420 wit macos high sierra as backup of my macbook) and T430 for backup of my regulat pc (device running VMs)

I have seen that T420 after modding BIOS can handle 2x 8GB 1600MHz ram (is not any possibility to run 2x 16? or DDR3L instead of regular DDR3?)
and also i7 4core (qm), but now i really do not have any clue which i7 i can install
i7 2670QM or 2820QM, or is any other better option? I have also few SSD intel 530 which i wish to instal in raid0 (is any possibility to use DVD rom BAY as second SSD and combine them in raid0 - is it worth?)

Same question about T430, what ammount of RAM can i use? and which i7?

I was considering to use T430 as Macbook Pro backup but finally i have seen that is less problem with T420, one minus that T420 does not have USB3.0 but this can be fixed by express card for 10$.

(I have needed required to flash T430 bios)

Hi there!
I am doing a super low budget build and picked one of these up very cheaply. I cannot find any proper settings in the BIOS (it's a OEM not surprised) so wondering if you could help me out by cracking the BIOS to add overclock functionality and support for PGA478 Penryn quad cores if possible. I have a BIOS update file attached. The computer is a RM-Ecoquiet 965 with T5800 processor & 4GB ram. No GPU. Motherboard is ASUS IMISR-VM.

Thanks in advance!

Hello there!

I was trying to OC my q9400 with this p5q-em do motherboard, but it seems like there's some kind of FSB limiter built in that doesn't let me go above 340mhz. So I was wondering if you could help me out by cracking the BIOS in a way that would fix this.

Thank you very much!

HP DV9700 Unlock Request

Hey, I have a DV9743CL (specs) laptop, and I was wondering if anyone could please unlock the hidden menus on it. I was browsing the ROM I have and it does seem to have the ability as the values are there, however, I do not know how I would modify the ROM in order to enable it. The only ROMs I can find on this website are for AMD DV9XXX series, which wouldn't be compatible with my Intel one, or is for a DV6XXX series, which uses a different chipset.

Anyways, here is the BIOS: 30CCF59.7z
That is the current BIOS I am using, it is for a DV9684, it already has a wifi whitelist and SLIC. However, the original BIOS for this laptop is apparently extinct.

dell inspiron1545 moded .hdr file ROM file CRC-32 is incorrect. Bad ROM file

I would like to operate core 2 extreme qx 9300 with inspiron 1545
core 2 extreme The cpuid of qx 9300 is 1067 A
In the official inspiron 1545 bios the code of 1067 A is the one of 2008/04/09 old and supports core 2 extreme qx 9300 Precision M6400 bios is 2011/10/04 that is newer than inspiron 1545
So I thought that it would be better to replace microcode and did the following

[1], I have inspiron 1545 a14 bios (https://goo.gl/U3Z5nj) and
Precision M6400 a13 bios (https://goo.gl/k1UeTk)
Downloaded.

[2], both of the two exe files
filename.exe / writehdrfile
And I got two bios .hdr files

[3], I checked the position, size and date of microcode using MCE.exe in UBU_v1_70_b8_Dev and I was convinced that the bios file of inspiron1545 contains the old microcode

[4] Open the .hdr file using HxD Hex Editor and copy the character string of 0x2000 size from the position confirmed from the Precision M6400 bios file with MCE.exe and replace it with microcode of Inspiron 1545

[5], this worked Inspiron 1545's 1067 microcode .hdr file was replaced by the one on October 4, 2011

[6], I learned that PhoenixTool.exe can compress .hdr files into .gz and remodeled.hdr file was compressed by PhoenixTool but PhoenixTool had {no vaild checksums found}  Huh Angry

[7] Then I compressed my unmodified. hdr file with PhoenixTool This worked fine The bios.gz file was completed

[8],When I confirmed the contents with 7-zip I confirmed the size that bios.hdr was in and it was exactly the same as the remodeled .hdr file so I overwrote it with a remodeled .hdr file

[9], usb
not remodeled biosfile.exe
I added a modified. Hdr file
bios.gz
I entered biosfile.exe / readgzfile in the dos window I thought this would work. But the dell bios updater said {ROM file CRC - 32 is incorrect. Bad ROM file} Angry Angry Angry

I think that crc32 is checked before updating bios and it is supposed not to update unless it matches Is there a way to match crc32 with unmodified file or how to skip crc32 check?
You can use any method
I am tolerating risks
Help me
Thank you

[Request] IMISR-VM Penryn Quad-Core Support

$

Hi there!
This is also in the AMI Bios mod as I would also like Overclock functionality to my mainboard but putting it here as well so CPU experts can maybe advise.
I am a newbie to BIOS modding so I have no idea if this is even possible or not...
It would be brilliant if my IMISR-VM board could operate a Core 2 Quad Q9100 - it is a PGA478 chip so it might work??
From what I understand is if the BIOS doesn't have the microcode for the CPU then it won't work... So is there a way to program the Penryn Quad-Core processor microcode into my mainboard?
What tools can I use to maybe mod my own BIOS as I'm keen to get into this sort of thing...

Thanks in advance!
