Fujitsu-Siemens BIOS - LGA 771 to 775 microcode

Hey there!

I didn't knew where to post this thread, so i decided Motherboards is propably the right one. My Problem is that i have an old fileserver, which i wanted to use again has no bios cpu support for my new bought LGA 771 to 775 modded XEON X5460 from 2006. I have heared that you have to put this ncpucode.bin into your bios.bin with CBROM195.exe. The problem is that cmd/cbrom gives a "cbrom195.exe v.19.5 Phoenix technologies" message, but nothing happens after that for like hours running this command:

Code:
cbrom195.exe Bios.BIN /nc_cpucode NCPUCODE.BIN
The point is i had to backup my bios with majorgeeks bios backup tool. Idk if that is the problem why cbrom195.exe can't execute.

The mainboard is a 2006 fujitsu-siemens dc2151s1 mainboard with locked bios. Atm i am running a good old pentium4 630 and it works.

If anybody could help me include the ncpucode into the bios and if possible unlock it to modify cpu target speed.

It is a locked v5 phoenix bios: Phoenix BIOS

Thank you so so so so much!

G50vt-x5 upgrade from x9100 to QX9300 (Freezing at startup)

Hello,

I have had this laptop since 2008 and it has served me well. I still use it as my main, daily computer. It just feels tough. I have a newer, much faster computer, but I cant stand how cheap it feels.

I have taken great care of this laptop since its taken good care of me. I have upgraded:
-Ram from 4gb to 8gb DDR2 800mhz
-CPU from its original P7450 (2.13)-> T9600 (2.80) -> x9100 (3.07) and hopefully to the QX9300 (quad core 2.53)
-Placed an SSD as the main storage and startup. Have 320gb HDD as a 2nd storage since it accepts 2 drives.
-Express Card 54mm (hidden, doesn't pop out)
-Replaced the battery
-Free upgrade to windows 10
-bluetooth usb
-Upgraded the old fan with a more efficient one that had better reviews. more fins/blades)
-I have the external Opolar Sucktion cooler. Works great.
-Replace thermal paste every 6months or so.
-I also always have it connected to a 2nd Display since I work and watch movies. Performance is solid. But a quad core vs duo core would really be nice. Especially since I multitask and run antivirus and malware daily.

Very happy with this laptop. The SSD and overclocked (this laptop has built in Turbo and Turbo Extreme Options) have allowed me to use this computer 10 years later. Very happy with it still.

This time, I am having trouble replacing the CPU. From what I read, its the same fitting and should be able to work, but I dont know what I can do next.

I restarted it a few times, but it freezes as soon as the windows logo pops up. The "loading" circle comes out but doesn't complete one cycle. Freezes instantly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am desperate, I bough new GPU in hope that I can boost my PC.
After it came, I realized that Medion is blacklisting newer GPUs...
Searched many forums, manually translated german ones but no help there.

Can anyone please show me how to unlock this bios so I can use my R9 270x?

Oficial bios download is here:
http://cdn.medion.com/downloads/treiber/bio7728.exe

I downloaded AMIBCP software but I have no idea what should I edit...

Can anyone save me and maybe post already edited bios file with some instructions?  Sad

Hello, first i'd like to congratulate all of you smart people out there, good work, i learned a lot around here.
Second, i'd like the adv menu mode in order to troubleshoot a problem with the egpu compatibility (i've soldered a 1x pcie port in the side of the notebook then i run the pcie signal trough an  IDE cable to keep the same distance between the differential pins to solder to a scratched wireless mpcie board. I had a toshiba once that had two mpcie's, the other one was outside in a ribbon and easily solderable because there was no mpcie connector in the board, i used this egpu in that board, i know it works and it should be a software problem in the new laptop. Plus i like having control over my sh1t. Thank you.

I need to modify the model and serial number on my replacement motherboard so that I can use my recovery discs and restore to factory condition. Does anyone have a DMI editor for Sony or know another way to reflash the bios to achieve this? Model VGN-SZ340P.

Possibly Bricked G500 Due To DVMT Pre-Alloc Increase to 1024

I have a G500 laptop with a recently upgraded i5-3340m inside.

I originally bought the cpu and did the bios-mod for hackintosh. I was having some graphical glitches on sierra and read that you could fix it by allocating more than the original 64mb ram. I tried increasing it to 512 (Already too high for comfort), but that didn't work. Hence, i upped it to 1024. BIG MISTAKE! Now it won't even post. It is on a boot loop. I have tried many things:

  1. Remove battery, hold power button for 20 sec, then boot back up. Nothing
  2. Reset CMOS by unplugging CMOS battery for over 3 hours. Nothing
  3. InsydeH20 recovery. Fan spins loud, but does nothing from there. USB flashes 2 times. No beeps.
Is it possible I fried the CPU? I have the original CPU, but I don't want to risk frying it. I know about the EEPROM method, but I really don't feel comfortable taking the chip off, reprogramming it, and reseating it, based on the numerous guides I've seen with all different methods of taking it off.

If you would like me to upload a video, I will.

Thank you,
Chris

UPDATE: I Figured out that it is not detecting the ram, since it acts the same with 2 sticks in, one stick in, and no sticks in.

Lenovo AMI Aptio V unlocked. Serial Console Redirection only working with graphics ca

Hi all,

I was successful in unlocking my Lenovo ThinkStation P320 UEFI which is Aptio V, mainly because of Serial Console Port Redirection, that enables me to remove the graphics card and use the system as headless server.
Using uefipatch I edited IFR. With a custom python script I modified StdDefaults>Setup to enable Serial Console Port Redirection by default. This all works fine.

What doesn't work is the console redirection:
With graphics card I see the POST screen and can react to errors like "Checksum error. F1 to enter setup, F2 to resume."
There is no need for attaching a monitor. The card just has to be inserted.

.png   Screenshot_2018-02-26_20-55-23.png (Size: 47.53 KB / Downloads: 1)

Without graphics card I only get some of the output and the system does not react to F1/F2/<whatever>.

.png   Screenshot_2018-02-26_20-53-05.png (Size: 78.19 KB / Downloads: 0)

Without graphics card, when there is no error, I am even able to enter setup. So there must be a bug or something else in error handling...

.png   Screenshot_2018-02-26_20-56-50.png (Size: 11.44 KB / Downloads: 0)

I *really* want to remove the graphics card to save about 13W of useless power but I need to be able to react to errors etc.

Is there anyone with an idea about what is wrong here and how I can solve that?

Best regards
Michael
