New Challenge: C2D T9900 to C2Q Q9100!

Hi everybody...

I have a new challenge for the "updaters, modders" of bios that can help me somehow.

The situation is:

I have a Mobile Hp Dv4-1xxx series with C2D T9900 dual core processor, the chipset is PM45. According to the PM45 datasheet, this chipset for sure is compatible with "Intel® Core™2 Extreme, Intel® Core™2 Quad, and Intel® Core™2 Duo mobile processors based on the 45-nm process". So far, everything is 100 %. So, I would like to upgrade my CPU, buying a C2Q Q9100 (amazing).

However, I don´t know if my Bios (F.67, the lastone) allow to use this processor. To avoid buying the CPU prematurily, I´d like to know if someone here could check the BIOS (Insydebios) file and discover if it´s has Microcode updated for this processor - Q9100.

Hey, 

i got this old board with simple overclocking features (can set the fsb) but i cant go past 395 (3,1ghz).
i need to change the vcore to get any higher speeds. are there any hidden options someone could unlock for me? 
i can provide any missing information. thank you in advance

Allow VT-d in Optiplex 760 MT A16 BIOS - CPU supports VT-d

The A16 Bios for the Optiplex 760 MT is programmed with 2 options for Virtualization enabling:

1. The first option is just a general option to enable virtualization.  This only enables VT-x
2. The second option is to enable VT-d (VT for Direct I/o) after the first option is enabled. 

However, this second option only shows in the BIOS settings if the particular motherboard in your 760 MT allows it (Dell shipped this system with more than one motherboard). 

I think the way it worked is if your system shipped with a 2 core processor you got one mobo (VT-d option not allowed in BIOS) and if it shipped with a 4 core processor it shipped with another mobo (VT-d option allowed in BIOS).

That's my problem!  My processor (Intel E8400 - 2 cores) and Chipset (Q45/43) do in fact support VT-d but my dell motherboard (P/N:  0M855N) does not support the option, even though VT-d technology is present in my CPU/Chipset. 

QUESTIONS:
1.  Is it possible to unlock the VT-d option in the BIOS so that I can enable VT-d?
2.  If yes, will VT-d actually work on the system given that the motherboard does not allow the setting to begin with?
3.  If yes to both, is there anyone willing to mod my BIOS to allow enabling of VT-d?

The reason I want to utilize VT-d is so that I can utilize PCI passthrough feature in VMware.

Hi,

I have 2 laptops of the same brand (vit.gob.ve) and model (P3400-002). The first one have the AES-NI option enable from factory (there is not menu or option in BIOS), and the second laptop doesnt have the AES-NI option enabled (there is not option in BIOS)

Please check the text files with the cpuid information of both laptops

There is 2 images of the main screen of both BIOS

Also I, attached the two bios fyi. I have been unable to flash the BIOS with the AES-NI enabled in the other laptop because I always get erros related to old version cannot be flashed in machines with newer BIOS.

New Challenge 2: Pent. Dual T2390 to C2D T9500!

Hi everybody again! Don´t know who, but I hope someone here can help me.


The situation is almost the same that was discussed in the topic "New Challenge: C2D T9900 to C2Q Q9100!".
Difference now is that we´re talking about a Laptop Acer 5715z equiped with poor Pentium Dual T2390 - 2 Cores, 533 MHz FSB, TDP 35 W, 1,86 GHz, 1 MB L2, PPGA478. This machine is not mine. My friend asked for help... now i´m asking help for you guy´s. The chipset of his laptop is specificaly Mobile Intel GM965 Express. According to datasheet (also with CPU-Upgrade web site: http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Intel_(chi...press.html), this chipset easily support the C2D T9500 - 2 Cores, 800 MHz FSB, TDP 35 W, 2,60 GHz, 6 MB L2.



Buuutt... Is  the Acer 5715z ready to receive it? Considering the Chipset GM965, yes! What about the BIOS? Well, I have no idea. That´s why I´m here. I don´t want to tell to my friend to buy this processor before confirm if it´s compatible with the 5715z laptop.

Please, can someone check if the microcode update of T9500 is already inserted in BIOS (Last update: Ver. 1.45; 2008/12/8)?

i got this M5-583p Acer laptop i have access to the advanced menu 
Bios Verison Insyde V2.30 1/12/2015
SMBIOS Verison 2.7

CPU temps are fan, heat sink/fans completely clear of dust. Power option set to high performance CPU min and max set to 100

Getting the Event ID error 37 still
Processor being limited by the systems firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report.

I been search for Speed Step or EIST option but can't find it

Hello, I was wondering if i can get some help on unlocking my bios to a point where i can overclock the CPU. I've seen a post or something that if you were to overclock a retail computer, you would need to hack the bios and flash the CMOS. And doing this to the mini tower, what kind of problems would it have in the future? 
I really want to upgrade the 3.0mhz to at least 3.5 or higher; the cpu stock is originally 3.0.
