Asus M5A97 R2.0 Another Bios UEFI/Legacy PCI drivers?

Hello I got this motherboard ASUS M5A97 R2.0 and with r9 290 and gtx 780 never had any issue... I bought an R9 390 from a friend i took it from his PC when it was working perfect. After I put it in my computer, I turned it on and surprise.. No signal on my monitor. It was like my monitor is in standby. I tested in another PC and there works perfectly like in my friend PC. I took my money back from my friend and then bought a new GTX 1060 3GB version. After I installed it in my PC i turned it on and I have ... "signal" bios is 4:3 black bars left and right.. same in windows and everything. But after I install drivers from nvidia website the screen goes black again... And my monitor looks like it's in standby again. Someone told me that uefi bios PCI drivers and legacy drivers are bad. Can someone mod the last version with another drivers? Acer aspire 8943g bios unlock request

Hello I have a acer aspire 8943g running phoenix bios v.1.06 was hoping someone has unlocked it already. If not is there another computer that uses a similar bios that's already been unlock ? If so could I flash that?

Unlock hidden advanced setting on Lenovo Z70-80

Hi everyone, I apply someone who could help me.

I got a Lenovo Z70-80 and I want to unlock hidden options or pages with advanced configurations in my InsydeH20 BIOS because I want to install Mac OSX correctly. Well I can install it but the video performance is poor.

I want to modify the shared memory to integrated video but my BIOS doesn't show that options.

I found this site with instructions

I tried both but I have write restrictions to save changes


This was my process


1. Booted with Linux Mint 18.1 or Linux Ubuntu 16.04.1 and I connected to internet by network lan and before of this I retired my    

    wifi physical card and I disabled it in BIOS. (Inside both linux I was like root user).


2. After I installed ghex software to follow the guide on net for both cases of linux and open the file with the name

    Setup-a04a27f4-df00-4d42-b552-39511302113d and modify it the line 

    00000210 to 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 01 00 00 00 and continue to save it.

3. In that moment was when I had the message of restriction to save.

Serg008 from forums.mydigitallife.info told me that my bios is rewrite protected for unauthorized bios images, and to modify it can be flashed using USB SPI Programmer like you know use it, is for that reason that I apply for help here.

Now, I'm got some resignation about the write restrictions in my BIOS. And I have thinked to buy a SPI programer and I want to know what's the best cheaper device. Someone told me about this MiniPRO USB Universal Programmer TL866CS and I want to know if is for my case.

3 bioses to verify if they are flashable

i updated 3 mainboards

first is MSI P6NGM-L

that is a long time i have this MSI product , it had a cpu Core2 Duo E8400 during a long time and with ebay i was able to update the cpu last year .
i found a good site about updating microcodes and followed the tutorial .
I updated: at least three elements of the latest release bios for motherboard MSI P6NGM-L.

The rom modules are:
Device 10de: 07e3
MCP73 GeForce 7050 / nForce 610i 5.73.32.09.15 to version v5.73.32.09.21

Device 10de: 07f8
Name: MCP73 SATA RAID Controller
MediaShield ROM BIOS 10.0.0.34 has version v10.0.0.35

The cpu is an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550S CPUID 1067A ( SLGAE)
I removed both versions of the microcode for the cpu and also another which is for very old P4 and installs the microcode:
Cpu0001067a_plat00000011_ver00000a0b_da te20100928

i uploaded a file having the original named msi.rom and the new bios named msi_jcg.rom plus the new source files

i learned that best firmware for intel raid controllers is version 11.2.0.1527 it  supports hard-drives with 4k clusters .

i extracted rom modules and saw , by using drag&drop into notepad , the infos about versions , that the rom for intel raid is v10.6.0.1091 and also that one is may be not the best for the mainboard : the one with pci:id 8086:10DE .
in notepad , the module shows :

FIX: 4coredual-sata2 8-way bank-interleave 4GB

The latest modded bios release numbered as 2.20a has a problem when 8-way bank interleave has been chosen; in this case, since the POST, the system is unable to calculate correctly the amount of RAM (11600MB circa instead of 4096MB(4GB)) stating each DIMM in the single mode. 8-way bank interleave allows the system to increase the bandwidth of memory adding 420 MB/s circa. Is there a way to fix this regression? (A similar model of Asrock 4coredual-vsta appears to have not this problem with official bios when only 2GB of ram are used based on a thread I have red)

How does somebody mod a BIOS?

Yeah, this is something I started to wonder about. I have no clue how you'd be able to do anything, because I doubt the BIOS manufacturers would be giving away details, unless you actually have to disassemble the BIOS. I don't know where you'd get the information for all the different memory addresses though. I imagine "hacking" BIOSes is actually rewriting them, or do they actually have code for advanced options already made where all you need to do is change a couple of bytes at some location to access it? I don't even understand why most laptops don't give you advanced options; is it that computer companies don't want to deal with people breaking their computers from excessive overclocking?

AMI bios advantech embedded board password

i have bought this motherboard and has bios password (no wonder it was cheap)
problem is bios password, i cant reset (it even has cmos reset pwd jumper but no luck)
i also tryed various backdoor passwords also no luck
tryed to contact advantech for new bios update, - no reply

is there anyone who can take a look?

Help E-5 2683 V4 ES help with Supermicro X10

Hello this is my first post and really need help.  Been over month still cant solve issue.

Do I need a modded bios to solve this problem?  I hope I can be helped.



I have a Supermicrio X10DAL-i   motherboard. Bios rev 2.0b  latest.
I have not changed anything in the bios settings.

I have 2 of the same identical chips. ES chips.
Xeon E5-2683 v4 ES Broadwell-EP same stepping etc..

when I put either chip in the 1st chip slot i can boot to windows10 no problem.

When i add a 2nd chip i get black screen no post no sound.

I even got another Supermicro X10DAL replaced by Supermicro and still no solution.
I even removed components to minimal specs, like ram, graphics card etc...


Here is my setup:


1. Supermicro X10DAL-1 (latest bios 2.0 from supermicro)
2. G.SKILL Ripjaws 4 series 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 2400Mhz DIMM F4-2400C15Q-32GRK
3. 2x MSI RX 470 4gb both installed running.
4. 1 Xeon E5-2683 v4 ES Broadwell-EP (2nd cpu not installed still)
5. Raidmax 850watt PSU
6. 1TB hard drive Sata

All the last night I had tryed to whitelist wifi to my bios currently F1B (Decrypted) with Phoenix tool because EZH20 doesn't load my *.bin file...and winhex doesn't find everytime I try the correct "HEX" what a f....
