Since no one on this forum was able to help me, I had to try it out myself and managed to unlock most advanced settings according to my needs.


Requirements:

Asus N551VW

This bios rom file > Download

AfuWin 3.05.04 > Download

A backup of your original rom


Windows 10 safety tips:

If you have windows 10 pro, it doesn't hurt to open gpedit.msc and go to "Computer configuration > Administrative templates > Windows components > Windows update" and enable "No auto-restart with logged on users for scheduled automatic updates installations"

You don't have to do this but if windows does an update and restarts during the bios flash, it's over, your laptop is bricked...


Installation:

1. Make sure advUnlock.rom is exactly 6160384 bytes, just like the original
   
2. Close all open applications and disable antivirus
   
3. Go to your afuwin folder and open a command prompt as admin
   
4. Type AfuWinx64.exe advUnlock.rom /GAN
   
5. If all went well, restart your laptop
   

An attempt to enable the chipset tab was also made on this rom file but the chipset tab is still not there...

Not sure, but this may have been done already but download links not working (I think).

BIOS is http://download.gigabyte.eu/FileList/BIO...b3_u1b.exe (EUFI version)
or
BIOS http://download.gigabyte.eu/FileList/BIO...b3_f11.exe (Non EUFI version)

not sure which of those I shold want to use (any ideas ? thanks).

Hm strange, I will Withdraw this file until I don't check it... as .exe is clean with kaspersky pro and Eset, but when I run scan on installed program is not. please check with antivirus for malware if someone installed. Will dissasembly package and search for that malware if there is one. SRY guys

i am using lenovo G40-80 with bios B0CN97WW.. there is no option for changing DVMT . Could you mod that BIOS? i mean unlock the option for changing the DVMT from the BIOS screen. Thank you.

Hi everyone!,  I'm new in this great community. I was wondering if you could please help me to unlock the hidden settings of my bios if it's not much problem. Actually I'm only looking for the advanced settings. I would really appreciate it!

I have a Lenovo U510 and want to install an intel centrino wireless-n 2230 card.

I have a Aspire V3 722g - 9821 running Ubuntu. I am willing to make a sensible donation for services rendered. Unlocking the bios with all menus. I'm a HW guy and I don't know much about modding FW.

Hi, i have this gaming (Dell 7559, i7, fhd, 960m) beast and i cant find anyone who have done this on this laptop.
Im looking for unlocked bios and if posible vBios too
I have trouble making bios backup with fptw (win or dos) - platform not suported, also no luck with bios backup toolkit
AMI Aptio bios, this is last update from dell

dont know if anyone has found this out before but thought id share after many a day pulling my hair out trolling the internet trying to find a way i found this if your dell has phoenix bios you can use phoenix tool 257 place your dell .EXE file in the same folder as phoenixtool start phoenixtool (remember to run as admin) use tab on right hand side load exe file same way you would a rom file if it is phoenix it will extract clean HDR in same folder as phoenix tool hope this is of some help thanks
