Corrupt BIOS after BIOS mod

I was trying to do some light gaming on my Gateway NE56R laptop. I wanted to access features not available in my stock BIOS such as fan speed and VRAM. 

So, installed a modded BIOS that I requested from https://www.bios-mods.com. Once I started up my laptop and went into the BIOS and changed the settings, I saved and exited, which made my computer shutdown. When I would turn it back on, the LED's would come on for about 2-3 seconds before turning back off. 

I have tried the tricks such as holding down the power button from 30-60 secs and removing the CMOS battery for 3 days, which did not work. So I bought a new BIOS chip for my model, removed the old one, then soldered the new one on. BUT STILL the same result. I am not sure if i have two BIOS chips on my mother board, or if the one I ordered was not for the BIOS (although I'm sure pretty sure it was). 

I'm not sure if I need to replace the other chip that is identical to the one I replaced, or replace a whole different chip. I don't have any important files on my laptop so I don't mind selling it right now for parts (which really sucks because I just upgraded the RAM and processor before corrupting it). 

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated, as I would like to confirm if my laptop is bricked, and if there is any hope to bring it back to life. I'll attach links to the pictures of the chip and mobo.

(P.S. I have also tried flashing the BIOS and it did not work. I might have done it wrong but I will try again with the new chip)

Hello folks, not sure if i ended in the right forum category but I'm extremely interested in getting to edit the "bios" ( UEFI ) on the Surface Pro

Everything started when i cmd:

wmic bios get serialnumber SerialNumber

i wantedt o modify this value that is retrieved from the rom itself i assume.
Then i read about computrace at bios level, etc.

I read about FAU and DMIEdit but i can't seem to understand what i really need for the Surface Pro EUFI really....

Anyone that could help will do an amazing thing!!!

AFUDOS ROM ID Issue When Flashing Modified BIOS

Let me preface this by saying I am a complete novice when it comes to BIOS mods.

So I am trying to modify and flash the AMI Aptio 4 BIOS for my Toshiba Satellite P755 so that I can get advanced features to help get my eGPU setup and running. Here's what I did:

-Backed up BIOS ROM using AFUWIN
-Modified some settings from "Default" to "USER" in AMIBCP
-Used Rufus to make a FreeDOS USB and copied AFUDOS and the modified BIOS to it
-Booted to USB
-Ran "AFUDOS bios.rom /P /B /N /K"
-Received error saying something along the lines of ROM ID does not match.

I know there is the /X option in AFUDOS to not check ROM ID, but I am not sure whether it is safe to use in this case.

So my question is: should I use the /X option, or is there something that I have done wrong or may have gone wrong with my process?

Hey guys, first of all I'm new in this forum as well in the world of bios modding, but I was reading about it during the last week so I got a rough idea about it, but I still lack in the field of terms  Undecided , so please be easy on me. What I need is a modded bios for yoga 2 13. My current bios verions is 96CN29WW(v1.15), and here is my current bios backup, and this is my current wwan card information:
    Realtek RTL8723BE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC
    PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_B723&SUBSYS_B73617AA&REV_00
    PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_B723&CC_028000

Also, I have some few questions:

1- Fpt shows that my bios chipset is EN25QH64, which SPI programmer do I need to flash this bios chipest? Huh

2- Does this clips socket adapter fit into my bios chipset, or do I need something else ?

This question may seems to be dump and obvious, but it wasn't mentioned directly in any thread I read, so I just want to make sure: Tongue
3- Does lenovo devices accept an e-gpu whithout this whitelist remove thing, or does it require it as any else wwan card, not whitelisted, and does these modded bios you provide remove the whole whitelist thing from the bios or you just add the wwan card desired by the user to the whitelist list, so he can use it?

Finally, I apologize about my bad English if there was some mistakes.

Boot loop after (successful?) BIOS update

I have an HP Pavilion a6110, with a M2N68-LA (Narra2) mobo following the tutorial: http://www.bios-mods.com/blog/?p=142 and I used the ASUS version of AWDFLASH. The bios flashed and I can get into it and access every setting, but everytime I boot, it goes to the win 7 starting screen, but before it goes to the login screen it reboots. I have searched around but I've only found people who have this issue and have no visual, I think it was a successful flash but sometime is stopping it from booting, this never happened before the flash so it may be a setting within the bios, I have no idea what it would be, anyone have any ideas? I don't have a second computer to download anything, I'm using my phone for this site right now so downloads for anything will not help.

I need to downgrade my BIOS to 99CN24WW on my Lenovo Y40-70, not for the purpose of unlocking but because flashing the newest BIOS left the PC unbootable - it just gets stuck in a bootloop.  I'm having trouble finding a link to download 99CN24WW.  Can someone help?

Dell slic & ich - E520 + a preamble about General dead pc troubleshoot

I was to add an endorsement to anot her request below - slic for antique a64 board msi-7125 as I have beloved old wkstn I would stiĺ use daily until I thought gfx card had died... but thought why not if finished upgrading other machines for al the family. But it looks more serious as I now try with gfx from other machine and I get no obvious output.... but machine powers on on demand, drives spool up..... but it seems gfx cards are not being powered up, .. So I am now thinking is it possible the pcie port died, or the north bridge (which had fan removed and run daily WITHOUT issue for 7yrs.... did have an undervolt I'm pointing at it.... and system died months ago in cold weather... and within 40secs of startup... point being chip fine for v long time and machine not used for gaming but lots of hotswaping hdds withbthat wonderful nvidia chipset feature....... i could hve sworn it was cooked gfx MAD are demons - just had an HP DVD to deal with - with dual amd gfx - but it runs at over 100° C !!! when not in windows with win dry calming it down - shut down so many times when I was performing many tasks on it from PE live CD environments.... doing the usual of imaging, testing etc of another farm members laptop... with as it turns out dead screen & kb.. still managed to get win10 on though..... but God does it get hot, scary, burnT myself handling the plastic case!

So looks like dead mono.... shame wouldve liked to have seen Win10 on the oldest compact hard war - a single core ath64.

BACK TO BIOS TOPIC....... reason allowed myself to ramble above is topicncovred before.... So someone will have answer alreday done and sitting in a repository .. just need to post it.. as all links out there and in this post below are dead:

I,'ve had this machine New unused in its box for years..... it had vista on so I wouldn't use it, and del screwed up order but life gotmin way of arguing a return...but that's another long saga .

So pristine e520.. I have already set Win10 on it and runs fine....... only issue (to me) is non speed step cup (so maybe that is next task see if ebay)...

I gather there is another issue about BIOS having inch v6 module and many folks think it should take v8.x.x .

SO IN SUMMARY LOOKING FOR 2.40 SLIC 2.1 BIOS FOR E520, which sh ould be as simple as putting up a live link to previously done work (I,'ve tried navigating various Chinese sources but they too seem dead or need registering.... in Chinese! beyond me)....... AND AS A POSIBLE LIVE REQUEST WHETHER THE ICH8 RAID UPDATE IS AVAILABLE AS WELL..... TOGETHER.

BUT AS SLIC TABLE IS MORE USEFUL and relevant links to correct flasher & how to. Just flashed a TOSH satellite by accident! As tosh download auto flashed without prompting OR warning which was a bit scary

Asus p5q-see slic2.1

File attached. Question - is this file the correct one?

There were several produced in same vein to inc the other attached file notionalily 4 asus p5ql and it references 0801 which was last bios revision... for p5q and the other file has same reference 0801_ but the archive is v diff size (I,'ve not lookd inside yet as on Android tablet) so seems pick 0801 bios of diff size which wouldn,t be right.

I currently have ever 0601 bios on p5q se2

As for diff between the 2 boards - from pic on asus website the board's look identical.. except for the chipset heatsink colours, same ........ edit one has p43 other p45 So are they likely tpto have same bios?

Found a way to bypass the RSA brick

My laptop usually brick ever few weeks with custom bios so i have to reset/reflash. But with the way i used i been using it for 2 months now without any troubles.
The way i did:
I downloaded a custom bios and flashed it (F.20)
Changed all the settings i needed (Turned on Fixed gpu switching and disabling CnQ)
Flashed stock bios afterwards (F.21)
And after reboot with stock bios my setting were still in play. Even thogh i couldnt access them in menus.
