[Request] Acer 7720g - Execute Disable Bit

Hello guys,

I have found here the wonderful work of camiloml which has given to us an unlocked bios with advanced setting... From that bios i am able to enable VT but i can't "Execute Disable Bit" which is required for "Intel HAXM" to run... From aspect of CPU i have an T9500 which in fact i know it supports that feature... So if any of your expert ideas and tweaking can do the trick i would be really grateful!!!

Hi everybody Smile !

I'm an humble newbie here, this is my first post after hours of searching for help... I hope I will find some assistance. By advance I want to apology for any double-post or "dumb errors/questions" I could do... learning start always with a first step.

First of all, here is what I have :
- HP Compaq Presario R3000 (Intel version)
- Motherboard 089C
- Bios version : F.45
- Kbc version : 31.45
- Actual wireless card : Broadcom Model B4306 (14e4:4320 rev.03).
- Next wireless card I tried to install ending by "error 104 - unsuported blablablabla" : TP Link model TL-WN861N

When I boot the laptop I don't see any logo of any "bios maker" (Phoenix, ...) so at this point I'm not sure of the "brand" of my bios. The laptop is currently running Linux (just to say that at this point I canno't just install Everest or CPUI-Z).

Here are my questions :
- How to know for sure the brand of my bios ?
- Any already flashed rompaq I can get from someone in order to flash the bios to either :
- Remove the withlist lock from HP
or
- Authorize the TP Link card

?

If you see any other questions I will be glad to give you all informations I can gather from the laptop.

Hello, I'm new here and wanted to ask for a modification and if possible BIOS update for a notebook Brazil.
I got the file through Aptios Utility since the manufacturer (largest in the country) does not release, besides no information so I can get the BIOS manufacturer's original motherboard.

What I want to do is enable virtualization (there is no option in the BIOS) and can enable more advanced stuff and update it.

- Positivo Premium S5055
- Motherboard: Positivo C14CR01
- Bios version: 1.00.8
- Processor Intel Core i3 2328M
- Chipset: Intel hm75

Hi! I'm trying to remove th BIOS WIFI Whitelist by myself but i can't. Please if you can help me i will be very grateful. My system is años HP G62 b67es, the card by default is a Broadcom 4313 and I want to replace it with an Atheros AR5B91. This are the id's:

Broadcom: PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4727&SUBSYS_145C103C&REV_01
Atheros: PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002A&SUBSYS_E007105B&REV_01

The BIOS is an InsydeH20 (UEFI) rev 3.5, it's RSA Signed.

i have a laptop sony vaio vgn-fe28b since october 2006

this is a good pc

but i recently bought a ssd disk drive but in the bios i haven't the controller disk drive menu in order to tuning the controller disk drive in ahci

i think i should set ahci for my ssd

how can i do in order to do this ?

i am newbie on the flashing bios

i recently flash my bios with the version R0174J3 :

Assistance with the A25 series (Toshiba)

So...something as old as these is probly dead to most of y'all...but this is what
has brought me to your humble(?) group....namely...

A host of A25 laptops...all of these route to the same bios on Toshiba's
support site...sure, v 1.40 sounds flashy, but here I am with this poor ol'
2.66/512/400 chip sitting in the machine...and a flashy 2.66/1m/533 chip
right next to me. Or perhaps a 3.06/1m/800. Both of the other chips, aside
from having double the L2, are hyperthreaders. I at one point thought that
might be part of the limitation, but lo' and behold, a 2.4/512/800 HT chip
boots just fine. So obviously, this is more a matter of updating microcode.

Now, I know that we are supposed to have a donor bios, and the original
bios...is it possible to just use the linux microcode database for adding to
the rom? The list as such shows well more than just my socket 478 cpu's
I seek to add support for, but what the [censored], right?

Now, from here, I want to point out...it's not that I would mind doing it myself...
by hand if need be with a hex editor, or some such...
but I lack the knowledge of what tools are even going to touch the files,
let alone allow me to alter them, and see if I brick my machine or not lol

So...if someone can try this, I'd appreciate it...if you can direct me to at least
what editor will open this (Is it an ACPI bios like the Tecras? I'm finding
nothing for good reference material on this...)

For lack of anything better to do in the meantime, I'm going to try a pheonix
editor and see if anything happens, heh.

[Request] Uploaded ADDCC, explanation, and nc6000

Hello everybody!

I am new here and have been working on getting a PCI card (DMCA-82) to work with my Compaq nc6000 for quite some time now. Here is the PCI id for my card:

I have referenced the following threads on numerous occasions:
http://www.wimsbios.com/forum/topic9388.html -- This one is where I have gleaned most of my information
http://forums.mydigitallife.info/printth...0&page=122 -- In this one, there was a nc6000 bios image with the whitelist removed, but it no longer exists.

Throughout the course of my investigation, I have seen the ADDCC (Awesome Dirty Do Checksum Checker) mentioned multiple times. Unfortunately, it does not seem to exist ANYWHERE on the internet anymore (this is so frustrating!!). I have tried to manually modify what it has done (with a hex editor), but my bios image failed (I will soon have a socketed nc6000, and then I can do any testing I want) --the modified bin is attached. If anybody could upload the ADDCC anywhere, I am sure the community at large would be very appreciative! Or better yet, if somebody could remove the PCI whitelist altogether, and maybe explain how to do it manually, this forum would serve to help anybody who happens to stumble upon it via a google search in the future. Thanks in advance!!

I just want to reiterate, DO NOT FLASH THE MODDED BIOS BIN I POSTED!! It will brick your computer. Hopefully this post saves someone from a big headache...

Hi, I have an Acer Aspire M1610 with an Acer F672CR motherboard with Unlocked BIOS (R01-B1) and a Pentium e2160 @2.4GHz.
I have a Core 2 Quad Q8200 but this motherboard doesn't support it, can i force the MB to support the Q8200 through another BIOS unlock?

Hi all,

I'm new here. I recently bought a X58A-OC. I saw the modified bios on tweaktown forums, but it seems like it has been a while since it was updated. Can someone please update it to the latest roms? Thank you very much.

I believe the Marvell controller might be the latest but Intel and Realtek ROMs might be out of date. I think the latest Intel Rom is Intel RAID Option ROM 12.7.0.1936 and the latest Realtek is: Realtek PXE ROM 2.55. If anyone can update it to these latest one please I would really appreciate it.

(I found Intel and Realtek versions of ROMs from the EVGA forums. The members update the bios of X58 classifieds still. It worked on my Classy. Would like to have my X58A-OC also up to date.)
