modify DV6723el bios

Hello all
I'm trying to modify the bios of an old hp notebook to install a new and faster wireless adapter. I've found a tutorial on the internet, but I have a concern:
If I open the bios file with Phoenix bios editor and save a new file without any modification, I expected a new file identical to the original, but if I compare the two files (with fc /b) they are totally differents. Why?Is it correct?
If can be usefull, i tried with both XP and win7@64 and phoenix bios editor pro 2.2.1.3; the notebook is a HP dv 6723el (centrino duo) with the last available bios.

hi guys!
i want to do overclock to my dell inspiron 1520 but i realized that there is no cpu performance options on bios. i am not an expert but i think these options will probably be available if somebody unlock bios' hidden options (if bios really includes this option)
could someone please do it for me if it is possible to do overclock with unlocked bios

I have a Y580 and tried to unlock it all the different ways that were available online, but to no avail. I realized that the size of my bios was smaller than the ones I was trying to flash, therefore it would be unable to flash correctly.

Asus P5K Deluxe Mother to recognize 3tb HD?

Hello, Hoping somebody knowledgeable enough here can assist me with this issue I have been confronted with. Smile

I have an Asus P5k Deluxe Mother board and would like to use my 3tb hard drive that I just recently purchased as a slave (second) drive, not for boot drive.

The trouble I'm having is that my motherboard here is only registering about 800 gb of the drive. And without any coincidence so is my OS...

I was reading online about the possibility of having my motherboard be able to recognize the full drive capacity by using a modded bios. Is this at all possible?

I have updated to the latest bios release through Asus which unfortunately didn't resolve this issue. The latest bios release has been attached here.

Can this bios be modded to allow the motherboard to recognize the full drive?

Looking for a Good version

I have the P6T Deluxe v2 board and I have a very old Intel RAID ROM (ver 8.0.0.1038). I am new to modding and I am trying to find out if I should update the Intel ROM

Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. Currently I am running;
BIOS version 1202
Intel ROM - 8.0.0.1038 (set to RAID)
Intel RST driver - 12.6.3.1000 (using RAID driver)
Using Intel SATA ports for single drive SSD and single drive HDD (SSD has the O/S)

Did tests using AS SSD, CrystalDisk and Anvil, per the numbers this gave the best numbers in testing for me using the past 8 Intel RST drivers in both AHCI and RAID mode. See attahced

So looking for some advice and numbers to see if I should update the Intel ROM. Or maybe if someone can explain why I should update the Intel ROM since as I mentioned, I am new to this.Huh

Hi, I am looking for a modified EVGA x58 ftw3 bios, would be best with Intel RAID Option ROM 12.7.0.1936, JMicron RAID Option ROM 1.07.28, and Realtek PXE ROM 2.55.
Maybe someone has done this befor, I would highly appreciate if you shared the rom.

Acer Aspire X1430G unlock

I'm interested to see if its possible to unlock the BIOS on an X1430G. It is a desktop with an AMD E-450 APU.

CPUID shows the chipset as AMD A40/A50 Series FCH and southbridge as AMD SB850.

Bios brand is AMI, Version P01-B2, Date 08/03/2011.



I can't seem to find the thread that shows the information I need to post in here, so if someone can let me know ill try and provide as much info as possible.

Extracting 'Surface' Logo from Microsoft Surface Pro BIOS Update

Hello!

Here is the thing I want to do. I am user of Microsoft Surface and I want to change the boot (splash) screen (where it writes "Surface" and where the loading circle is) of my tablet to a custom image. So far I havent found anything useful that would lead me to the my goal.

Right now I am working on bios update from this link:
Microsoft Download Center . I opened .rom file with MMtool (image below).

I managed to extract the OEM logo, but it wasn't the 'Surface' logo. It was ASUS logo, weird...

Am I looking for solution in the right way? Which is the right module in the .rom file where I could find this image or caption of 'Surface'. Can you guys help me solve this problem?
