Asus eee PC 900 (1006 ami bios)

Hi,

its a AMI Bios (2009) and I was only able to find the eee pc 900a thread about AHCI unlocking.
So forgive me if I was unable to find any eee PC bios discussions here.

Maybe there can be done more to this little fella ? 
Im not looking for specific things, just for...anything. Wink

I had a short look at it with a hex editor and it doesnt look much crypted.

The Award BIOS Editor does not load it, because it says boot block missing and so on :

So I'll try to use universal bios backup tool on it at the end of the week to try to open it with the award editor as well
and post extracted bios here too.

Emachines EL1300-02W bios help....

I have an Emachines EL1300-02W pc and need to redo the BIOS, I have the BIOS files from their website, HOWEVER there's an issue.... Something happened to the pc and took windows out. The restore disks are worthless, and I think that a BIOS flash is the answer as the pc is acting up, the CD Rom drive is non functional for boot up restore, and the USB ports with either work or not... I tried to use their BIOS update but it won't let the BIOS install, so I was thinking if I could install the BIOS binary using Phoenix-Award's software? I think something got on the hdd from the internet and screwed up the BIOS. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks.

I have Toshiba C850-C003 it has

intel i3-2348M CPU sandybridge family 6

intel 7 series chipset family SATA AHCI controller

it has insyde h20 bios and i flashed latest v. 6.80 to it

I tried to unlock hidden features in it and I failed couldn't make it happen... what I aim to unlock is adjusting dedicated VRAM for my

integrated intel hd 3000 graphics and to be able to enable or disable automatic fan speeds

any help is well appreciated !!! thanks in advance for ur efforts to help.. even small tips on how to unlock such features may help me a

lot... I searched much but nothing helped... when I find anything I will post here immediately so others can benifit from it...

Acer Apire V3-771G Firmware question

Hi All-
I have an Acer Aspire V3-771g notebook. its currently running the
1.15 firmware. The issue im having is the battery is close to dying on it.
I ordered a 9cell battery off of amazon which didnt work. If i hover over
the battery icon it would say "plugged in, not charging". They sent me a
replacement and the same issue happened. I figured the 9 cell battery
wasnt fully compatible with my notebook even tho the webpage said it
would work. I then ordered a 6 cell battery from a different vender, same
issue happens. If I put my original batter back in the notebook and plug
it in and hover over the battery icon it says plugged in, charging. so I dont
think anything is wrong with the notebook itself.

Im thinking that there might be an issue with the old 1.15 firmware not
working on newer\3rd party batteries. Does anyone know if updating the firmware
to 2.28 would fix the issue im having? It would be nice if there was some
patch notes on Acer's site but I cant find anything. I tried calling there tech support
but they wouldnt help since the notebook is out of warranty.

I would update to 2.28 my self but it looks like i need an unlocked firmware.

Hi guys and girls.
I recently discovered I'm a victim of Lenovo's locks. Bought used, without WiFi card, thinking I could just use any card out there. I'm feeling so dumb.
The original card was an Intel 2230.

Can someone help me with the removal of this restriction?

Hello everyone,

I'm hoping to get all of the hidden options unlocked on this board's BIOS:

MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum (MS-7025)
BIOS Version 1D
http://download.msi.com/archive/mb/bos_exe/7025v1D.zip

All default settings can be left the same, I just need to be able to access the hidden options. Bumping the version to "E" instead of D and changing the date stamp accordingly would be nice as well to help me keep track of the changes. Angel

It may be a while before I can test the results, I want to be sure I have another board and/or a way to recover if I brick my board before I make the attempt.


Also, since I didn't see anywhere else on the forum where I thought this question would fit properly, is there any way to modify Intel BIOS'es? Specifically to be able to disable ACPI or "PCI Autoconfiguration?"
