Dell 5520 Bad Flash

Not sure if I'm in the right forum for help sorry if I am.

Today I flashed my dell 5520 laptop to the latest bios from dell website. Immediately after I clicked start my laptop screen shutoff and sat there doing nothing for over an hour. Eventually I had to remove the battery for it to shut off. I restarted it and it still had the black screen and was beeping continuously. I came to the conclusion the flash had gone bad and started searching for ways to fix the problem.

I came across your website guide on how to recover it.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but it is not working. This is what I did.

I downloaded the oldest version bios I could for my laptop here

I found the .fd file QCL00A04.fd using Phoenix tool and it said Working.... a popup said my recovery file is QCL00.bi? so is that .bin?
I renamed the original file to QCL00.bin and put it on a formatted flash drive and followed the steps on the guide. Nothing different happened. Am I doing something wrong? Please help and thanks.

Hi,
Could someone take a look at my bios and find out if it is possible to change fan setting or open some hidden menu in it ?
It would be great if I could control fan speeds or increase fan speed at lower temperatures.

I'm looking for a Motherboard; I'm thinking of an AM2 with AM3 support because ram timmings don't matter to me only how many GB's of it and that DDR2 is cheaper than DDR3.

I got an AM2 sempron 3200+ CPU i could use if i need to instal a bios mod or something before an AM3 CPU.

4x4GB DDR2 support would be heaven but i'll settle for 4x2GB.

Sata support

and PCI x16 for graphic card.

other than that i'm looking to get for around 20$ on Ebay, maybe as high as 30$ if you say it's realy good; retail or OEM doesn't matter. Also if an DDR2 AM3 board exists that would be fine. I'm looking to instal on it the most powerfull CPU i can get on Ebay for 20$ or less (that sometimes can be a hexacore, generaly a quad).

Goes to say about my budget... around 50$ and the case and power plant i'll scavenge from someones thrown out computer... done it before (the name is necrocomputing, necro as dead and computing as in what a computer does when it's working; ei undead computers).

Hey all!
Can anyone help me with that machine?
I have a few questions, when i installed OSX on that notebook, gpu's is not detected (shows only 8MB of VRAM).
For OSX no drivers/kexts for this video card and processor bundle.
AMD PowerExpress (software graphics switching).
Can i disable PowerExpress or integrated (6310M) and run only at discrete 6370M?

And the most important thing!
Is it possible to overclock AMD E350? Confused
If anyone unlocks these functions. I would be grateful.

Phoenix Firstbios Update

I have an old IBM ThinkCentre 8189F1U desktop which has an IBM FRU PN 13R8926 mb and a Phoenix Firstbios 2AKT51AUS BIOS. The OS is Windows 7 Enterprise 32-bit and has an nVidia 6200 video card. The system was constantly accessing the hd and was slow with just 2GB of installed memory. I purchased four new sticks of 1GB memory to fill the four slots. The mb documentation states the board will support 4GB of memory. After replacing the four sticks of 512k memory with four sticks of 1GB memory, the BIOS only detects 2.3GB. Windows 7 shows 4GB installed but only 2.3GB available. Could this be corrected with a BIOS update? The current BIOS date is 7/6/2005. I have searched online for hours but have not been able to locate a BIOS update. I have found some sites that say they have an update but they want $29 to subscribe to their service before I could get it. That's not going to happen. Would appreciate any comments or ideas on this issue.

Please, I buy a Lenovo Thinkpad E540 with Intel HM87 EXPRESS Chipset (RAID supported according with intel tech specs) but I cant deploy a RAID, because is not enable on Lenovo BIOS Settings. Legacy and AHCI are only available in HDD Configuration.

Hi,

I got an S410p with Broadcom Wifi + BT combo card and im just tired getting drops while i use BT, i just tried everything in driver and power management configuration so now i want to replace my card with an Intel 7260HMW. I'd really appreciate if someone could remove the whitelist from my BIOS please.

This is my S410p:

Intel Core i3 4010U
BIOS ver 89CN32WW
Broadcom BCM43142 802.11b/g/n Wireless Network Adapter

someone please mod the bios for hp compaq cq43-414tu,i want to uppgrade my wireless card to intel wireless it has atheros inside. The .fd file seems encrypted starts from 03 n i cannot find proper andy's tool for my bios

CF19 MK5 Toughbook Motherboard Blank

I replaced the motherboard to due failure and the new one came blank with no model number information. I have another Toughbook that's the same model, is there a way to copy the bios and write it to the other one.

If not how can I tell the motherboard what it's model and serial number are?

I have the Panasonic bios update utility program but it only works on the older CF18 MK3 version.

i own a vaio vpcceg37fm laptop
i kept a password for bios and forgot it
then i reflashed the bios by setting force flash all rom parts to 1,
but my password not removed but all the data like
serial no
model
etc...
are erased in dmi data...
so how do i change the dmi data
for my bios

Good afternoon/morning/whenever you're reading this,

I would like to have the bios of my Travelmate unlocked (advanced menus, video memory size, etc.)
Laptop has a HM70 motherboard and is almost the same as an Aspire V5-171 (use the same bios).
I would've used the V5-171 bios if i didnt get a HTTP404 error everytime i wanted to download that file from felipejfc's website.

Below is the original 2.22 BIOS from Acer.

I've also done a FPTs backup using BDmaster's "NEW_BACKUP_FTPs.exe" tool.
