Hi i'm trying to unlock my BIOS for see if is possible to have more settings in it.
My laptop is:
TOSHIBA Satellite L505-13Z
And the bios can be downloaded here:

or directly here:

Some other info:
BIOS type: Phoenix EFI
BIOS name: Phoenix SecureCore Tiano
BIOS version: 2.1
motherboad: NSWAA

I've tried to download: "Andy P's Phoenix/Insyde SLIC tool", but as I have no experience with BIOS mods, I don't want to do something wrong and brick my laptop.
Can anyone gently help me to archive this mod if is possible?

I've inherited an all-in-one from my grandmother and really like the machine. However, the G630 processor isn't cutting it and I happen to have an i7 3770k laying around I'd like to install in it.

The native BIOS allows sandy bridge processors and the H61 chipset supports the ivy bridge. However, Dell refuses to update the bios to include the newer processors, even though they're supported by the motherboard.

I am a hardware enthusiast for nearly 30 years. I've tinkered (and broke) with many things but I just can't seem to find a way to get the necessary microcode into the bios.

Can someone assist me here? I would be willing to do it myself with the correct instructions but am open to the "just do it for me" (read: pay) model if someone would prefer!

I have upgraded CPU 5250 and work 100%
I bought T8100 and T8300 but does not work
PC will not turn on
but
if I mount a CPU T5250 works perfectly
Original CPU is Intel Celeron M 575 Sockets Supported PPGA478
What be wrong ??

What is wifi card white-list?

Hi all I'm a little new to the whole business about white-list.
So I have a few questions that I have not been able to find an answer to despite googling for a couple of hours to find the answer.

I just bought a intel 6300 wifi pci-e card and noticed that it won't work with my toshiba laptop.
The reason is that it is a lenovo branded version of the nic, I think it has to do with some sort of white-list.

I have a Toshiba satellite p750-10R laptop and according to forums Toshiba doesn't have a white-list in it's bios.

So the nic must have some sort of firmware saying that it should communicate with the bios and check if it is a lenovo computer.
Is this correct?

So the bios white-list problem is actually that the bios should say that it is a lenovo to the peripherals if the peripherals firmware is asking for it?
The modd that could be possible is that the bios should say its lenovo?

Is it possible to flash a nic firmware to make it like it is not an lenovo nic ? Confused

Well all this is assumptions since I don't know how it all works. I would be very happy if someone could explain how it all works.

Lenovo Ideacentre A720 Intel HD4000

Hi there!  I'd like to hackintosh this machine, which requires use of the HD4000 graphics.  Normally Clover boot loader can simply disable the nvidia optimus chip and use the intel no problem, but this bios seems to disable the intel chip all together.  I'm hoping to mod it so we can enable the integrated HD4000 video.  Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this.
