Hi all, just installed an SSD into this system with this board but AHCI is not an option and can not be enabled in the current BIOS. Can someone please MOD the BIOS to enable AHCI (and any other options they fancy) and maybe throw in a SLIC as well for good measure Smile

Asus K93SM and AC7260 Intell Adapter

Hai,

i hope that i am in the right part of the forum for my question.

I have an ASUS K93SM laptop.

Due to my upgrading of my internet connection and missing bluetooth, I bought the AC7260 from Intell.
Please find here which one I mean: CLICK HERE

Problem when mounted this adapter: No way you can switch on the MAIN WIFI SWITCH.
Please see HERE the image of what I mean (images say more then my english...)

What is not a problem: you can install the adapter in windows 8.1. It is recognized by windows. I can install updates for the adapter. Turn the adapter on and off.
But as long as the main wifi switch does not work, I cant use wifi.

I heard that there is a way to get the AC7260 working by "modding Bios".
It is concerning the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 + Bluetooth PCIe Half Mini Card.

I guess it means that the BIOS file will be adjusted and then the wifi adapter will work?

Can anybody please help me with this?
I have really no clue or knowledge to do this. I dont even want to try, otherwise I know that I will make things worse..... Blush

I have also made a donation to show my appreciation for helping me, because this is the honoust way I think.
Without this forum no help, so thats why i donated.

These are the details of my laptop:

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. K93SM 1.0
Bios version: K93SM 208
Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 Wireless-netwerkadapter
Adapter type: IEEE 802.11 wireless

If possible, and there is a chance to modify my BIOS in a way which gives me the options to use full memory or make my laptop faster, please feel free to do so.

Hi,

Yesterday I decided to upgrade bios on my HP Proliant DL120 g6 and something went wrong. Result: 1 long beep, thena 2 short.

Procedure from service manual doesnt work for me at all. Also, this recovery procedure https://www.bios-mods.com/bios-recovery/phoenix-bios-recovery/ didnt help too.

I've got one packed BIOS for ROMPAQ (HP tool for bios flashing) from HP website and another bios dump from working dl120 g6 (dump was made with flashrom).
Any chance to fix broken bios?

Possibly, I would fancy a Fujitsu certificate, otherwise any other one will be fine.

I both attached RW AcpiTables and latest BIOS (non-USB stick version).

Acer E5-571-56UQ , doesn't recognize the hard drive, it can't boot the HD

Hi,
Acer E5-571-56UQ without dvd-r, I cant access to the bios pressing F2.
When turn on the laptop, shows the acer logo then after few minutes show the message.
Message:default boot device missing or boot failed.

Attempted a bios update with the latest bios downloaded from dells website, and after running it was given a message that it failed. On my next boot the display is black with no signal to monitor, my fans are full blast, and my power LED is a solid blue. I have been searching online for days and none of the restoration procedures are working. They all require a step that leads to a brick wall. I have seen so many people that had the same issue with the bios update, but haven't seen a resolutions.

It's a Dell Vostro 410. I THINK its a Phoenix, but only from what I have read online, cause phoenix restoration is not working out.

Main issues I am having with restoration:

This system has no PS2 port, and none of my USB ports appear to receive power for any key presses to start restoration. (though i do see a brief flash of the LED on my USB drive when I power on)

The downloaded bios .exe from Dell's website does not work with -writehdrfile or -writeromfile

If I run the .exe it appears to extract the files to a temp folder, but there are no files there to work with.

I have found no way to extract the files from the .exe


ANY additional help would be beyond appreciated. I have been pulling my hair out over this and feel like I am getting nowhere.

Hi,

Please can somebody help me change or disable a custom Splash screen on a Panasonic Toughbook CF-T8 Laptop? It currently has somebodys custom logo on there and I want it to go back to default or switched off altogether. I have checked the BIOS options and there is nothing obvious currently in there to disable the logo

Model is CF-T8GWE30AE

Recovery Bios MSI

Hi every one, i new here French guy, DonPaydro 1st post here.
(Sorry for my bad english ... )

I finnally decide to ask for help here with my BIOS.


My motherBoard is : MSI P55A-GD65

After one reboot during the flashing progress, my computer don't start and i have the message; Bios recovery requested pls insert USB flash disk with BIOS file.

I have exactly this screen ( except the name file: A7585IMS.160 ), but after my screen turn black and nothing ( led on screen turn on-off for saying nothing here ) .... if i restart the computer i have again: Bios recovery ....


- I have already do one CMOS by moving the jumper => nothing ( and remove battery )
- My USB drive size is 15Go and is on FAT32, i only put the Bios file on root
- I remove all think on my Mobo i only let ( keyboard, usb drive, gc )
- I test all available Bios File here: http://fr.msi.com/support/mb/P55AGD65.html#down-bios ( sorry for the fr ), only the last one (1.6) is recognize with Bios recovery (strange)
- Test to rename the file AMIBOOT.ROM => dont recognize the file


If someone can help me ...


All my config:


Mobo: MSI P55A-GD65
GC: MSI R9 290
RAM: Corsair XMS3 8 Go (2x4Go) DDR3-SDRAM PC12800
CPU: i7 875K

I have a dell inspiron 531 that needs a activation fix. I have looked all over for a 531 "how to" and to be honest don't really understand it. All I'm am trying to do is I built a mame arcade machine for the kids to play. I keep getting this activation request. I know there is programs out there to take care of this but on occasion I loose my usb ports. I related. I'm running windows 7 32bit. Any help would really make the kids happy. Thanks for any help you might be able to give

Hello! Have a laptop Toshiba L850D-BNK(PSKECR-00U003RU) BIOS 6.10 After replacing A8-4500m on the A10-5750m is not enabled laptop.Don't POST Symptoms with new CPU installed are: Black screen w/ no POST, Power LED is on, CPU fan running, and nothing else. I suspect the code for cpu needs added to the BIOS since Toshiba states they provide no CPU Upgrade support. Help! Huh Huh Huh

Does anybody know how access UEFI? or add/remove modules in V1?

Hi. I did a search but cannot find what I want. Does anyone know if it is possible to use a Intel 7260 wireless-AC card with a Acer Aspire 5742 notebook? I read that the notebook hangs at the BIOS if you try to use one of these cards. Some reviewer on Amazon mentioned using electrical tape to cover pin 51 or something. Anyhow would changing the BIOS to remove the whitelist solve this issue? If so here is the link to the latest 1.30 BIOS.
