M2N68-LA latest BIOS

Hello all!

I happen to have this board M2N68-LA. It's BIOS version is 05.02 from 2007. It is incredibly unstable. I have fitted it with 8GB RAM and they have passed memtest.

Perhaps an updated BIOS may help. So I visited Asus' support page. However, they do not declare any kinship to the specific board.

PLUS, SE, -AM, -AM PLUS, -AM SE, -AM SE2, -CM and -VM. But no -LA. HP has it listed, but they offer no BIOS updates.

So my question is if I can use the latest BIOS for just M2N68 which is 1001 from 2011. The board isn't visually equal.

Acer Aspire E1 572G Insyde V 2.04 Advanced Settings Unlock Request

Hi there,

I recently bought an Aspire E1 572G laptop and faced problem running games on it.
I realized that it's Core i7 4500U Processor could run up to 3.0 GHz but it's clock speed is set to 1.8 and it's max speed has been set to 2.4 GHz.
So that I decided to overclock the CPU but unfortunately it's Insyde bios is locked too!
So the only possible way left for me is to request you to do some hacks to it or unlock it or whatever you may prefer to call it!
I also ran the program "Test Back" that some guys have been said that the result of it's process may be required for the modding operation!

Here's the link to the result :

Thanks to everyone who can help me and he/she does! Big Grin

hi all this my first post i was hopping that it will not be a help question but im stuck

i got a unknown motherboard with onboard via eden 4000 processor and via chipset !

no name no brand no serial number its tiny atx board and gpu is dead bassicaly i wanted to do a mod since its motherboard for a machine not a computer and there is a unknown connector for com ports they put all comports in one that looks like ide connector
so i needed the datasheet or something to see how it works and how todo my mods
since the new motherboard i have got seprate comports !!!

so i did some researchs no luck finding anything regarding that motherboard

so, i was thinking since im in the hardware part and i didnt find nothing why not reading the bios plcc32 and dumping the bin with a programmer and try to see if there is some information inside maybe the name of the board a serial number something that i can stick with ,to do my researchs !! my only way

so the plcc ic was branded with holographic sticker that say phoenix bios 1984-2004
so basicaly its phoenix bios when i tried to open it with phoenix bios editor or something always says no bcps found !! i extract string from the bin and i found that it has modules for lcdrom.bin P076-A.bin and other stuff so its compressed i tried to decompress using all stuff i found in internet and no luck searched a bit but no luck i guess im not that good since im a electronics tech !!! ida hexray is to heavy for me and need more time to dissasemble the bin and try to find any interresting strings inside it !!! so first thing sorry for my bad english itsnt my native language and secondly im i doing this wrong or write ?

[help unlock please] enabled Intel Menu but PhoenixTool says file "4 bytes too long"

Hello, I have an R0070J4 BIOS and want to enable the hidden Intel menu. I have backed up my BIOS properly (Universal BIOS Backup) and added compatible platform data from an official R0030J4 BIOS update (I have also confirmed that this image will work). I am having issues repacking the BIOS (I am using PhoenixTool to unpack/repack the BIOS and am only modifying TEMPLAT0.ROM (with HxD), I am NOT applying any SLIC mods, etc.). The file size of TEMPLAT0.ROM is 35072 Bytes before and after I add the Intel menu in HxD, but the PhoenixTool says the file size (of TEMPLAT0.ROM) is "4 bytes too long" . Is there any way I could fix this without disabling the "Preserve Module Size" option (which results in a success + more modifications (byte by byte compare) than I made)? Also, can I get someone more experienced than I am in BIOS modding to add the Intel menu to this BIOS image? I want to compare your work with mine to see if I am doing this right (so far, I have been emulating the BIOS in PBE). I removed the "Multi-Processing" option (Intel menu contains this option as well, so no loss) in the advanced menu to make more room to add the Intel menu without changing the file size (Core Multi-Processing Jump Table Offset for Advanced Menu: hex search in TEMPLAT0.ROM: 530D , offset 0x02A6).

R0070J4 (Intel Menu Mod) [modified w/ Intel Menu, PhoenixTool to Extract/Repack and HxD to hex edit, made from above file, I bypassed "4 bytes too long" error by disabling "preserve module size" option which resulted in more mods (hex compare) than I made but worked when tested in the PBE emulator (full Intel Menu!), the TEMPLAT0.ROM file was the same size before and after modification (bit-size compare), mod performed so it would not mess up rest of the file]

NOTE: I do NOT want to perform any SLIC mods, I do not need any cracking software (I have Genuine Win 7 Ultimate 32-bit). After this small issue is fixed and I confirm that my tested-working BIOS can be flashed with CRISIS using my USB Floppy Drive, I can test this BIOS. If any more information is needed, please ask. Any help or info that could help me would be very highly appreciated! Big Grin

Hello everyone.

I bought this new WiFi card, which my laptop now aggressively refuses to work with.
So, I did some research and came across this forum, and looked through some of the threads about bios modding, and saw sovem generously helping the other users out with mods. I was hoping that someone would help me make my laptop accept the new WiFi card.
I tried following this tutorial (ThinkPad BIOS hacking guide), but couldn't split the modules.

Full model name of laptop: Lenovo Thinkpad W520-4284DW3
Link to Lenovos BIOS utility: 8buj21us.exe
The original WiFi cards info: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0085&SUBSYS_13118086&REV_34
The new WiFi cards info: PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_002A&SUBSYS_10811A3B&REV_01
Dump of the BIOS (sovem requested this from another user): http://ge.tt/1YdwYcW1/v/0

I hope someone will help me do this, as i don't have the skill to do it my self.
Thanks in advance, Drps.
