[Request] Gigabyte X79-UP4 LAN disable.
So i have a Gigabyte X79-UP4 Rev. 1.0, on witch the LAN port has stopped working(GBE).
this causes the system to sometimes refusing to start (in addition to very long POST times) untill resetting the entire bios.
i dont know how bios modding works or what can be done, but i had in mind a few options:
1. Making the bios default to "disabled" GBE controller, if reset.
2. Making the bios not recognize the GBE controller at all.
3. A hardware solution, identifying some component that can be desoldered and make the faulty port/chip stop interfering with post or starting up.

[Request] ASRock A300 - Add AMD Zen 2 CPU Support
Hi all,
I'm looking for anyone willing to try to add AMD Zen 2 CPU support the ASRock A300 motherboard. It was of high interest on the smallformfactor forums a short while ago but no one over there had the knowledge to make it happen. I am still hopeful for this upgrade on the motherboard so that PCIe 4.0 will be enabled on the m.2 slots.
As an aside, I know the ASRock X570 Taichi & Phantom X Gaming motherboards already have this support. Maybe the bioses from these can help in unlocking Zen 2 support on the A300 board.
I'm willing to support the effort in any fashion I can (retrieving bioses, putting up a few $, etc.). Anyone here interested?

Flash back original BIOS to Asus x555LN
Hello !
A friend of mine gave me an Asus x555LN laptop that failed on updating the bios.
The computer wouldn't even start.
I flashed a dump from the Internet with a CH341a interface, it is a BIOS from a x555LD and that worked : I can boot Windows
Now I'd like to flash back a x555LN BIOS so the computer gets it's original working state.
I've seen downloadable file from Asus Support doesn't looks like the file I can write with my CH341a interface.
Can someone help ?
Attached files :
- dump from when I got the computer
- dump "working" for now (x555LD in place of x555LN)
- file from Asus Support (X555LNAS.313)

Hi, I want to be able to use the card Intel 9260NGW 9260ac 802.11ac inside my laptop.
I've looked around, and the BIOS is probable not rewritable.
However, I did not buy SPI-programmer+SOIC8 clip only yet, so I wonder if anyone will be able to mod the whitelist into the BIOS update from lenovo's website: https://support.lenovo.com/ca/en/downloads/ds539156
my current wifi card is Realtek 8822BE which came stock.
Thanks !

How to unlock the EFI BIOS for a Dell Alienware 17 R5?
Please see this post first, as this question relates to it. Also, I'm not quite sure if this is the correct forum as I'm not sure what brand of BIOS my Dell Alienware 17 R5 has.
My question relates to Dell's software lockout of their Alienware 17 R5 laptops having more than 32GiB of RAM.
I've been trying to find out what type of BIOS my machine uses but I've not been successful.
Is Dell's BIOS some proprietary OEM firmware or is it Award or AMI?
Can someone tell me how one might go about unlocking one's Dell Alienware 17 R5's BIOS to gain access to 64GiB of RAM support?
Thanks,
jdb2

[REQUEST] HP 15-bw0xx BIOS Unlock

Bios version F51.Rev.A

My RAM supports 2400Mhz according to CPU-Z and HWINFO64 but it runs at 1866Mhz. I want to be able to change it to its rated speed, I guess I need the advanced menu.
I have an eGPU adapter on the way. I don't know whether I'll need to remove whitelist for PCIe port for WLAN and also disable the dGPU through BIOS.

Asrock H61M-VS3 Bios update failed
Hi guys, I'm new here, I believe you guys are possibly able to assist me getting my pc up and running again.. I have tried updating my Asrock H61M-VS3 motherboard and halfway through the process it froze and my board has since never worked again.
On my part I have gone on to the Asrock site and downloaded all possible Bios updates for my PC.
After trying to update using each .rom file obviously one at a time, the exact same thing happens which I found very odd. However what i have noticed was that non of the files i downloaded from the manufacturers site had no file extensions. Nevertheless I formatted my flash drive into FAT32 format then created A bootable flash and copied the Bios file on to it and ran the same process individually with the exact same outcome on each Bios file i tried, displays its busy doing the requested update and crashes halfway there. However there was one bios update file that showed no display but it did have my keyboard numlock light come on and that also was the end of the update so i am able to redo the process with each update file only to have the exact same outcome and is it correct that each bios file is identical in size?
NB* The freezing happens while --"Recovery UEFI is processing the Crashless feature"--
TIA guys
Shazz

Thanks.

[Request] ECS 761GXM-M add Phenom II CPU support
Hello, dear forum users ! I need help or advice, since I'm not so advanced, so please do not be angry with me if I chose the wrong partition or did something wrong
I recently ordered a processor from Aliexpress "Phenom II x4 955" my computer is equipped with an ECS 761GXM-M motherboard, AMI BIOS, I know this is an AM2 socket, but I read that processors with an AM2+ and AM3 socket can be installed and used in AM2 with some performance losses, I recently downloaded the MMTool program , opened the newest version of bios for my motherboard, and I saw only 4 lines with microcode in the "CPU PATCH" section, my current processor is "DualCore AMD Athlon 64 X2, 2600 MHz 5000+", but the new one has not arrived yet, but I am concerned about the fact..
The new processor that I ordered is not in the list of officially supported ones, and I'm afraid because of this that my computer may simply not boot with this processor..So I thought that perhaps this forum would help me by creating a mod by integrating the new microcode into bios, because I also heard about the existence of motherboards with the same socket that would officially support AM2+ and AM3 processors, such as second-generation Phenom.I understand that maybe I'm wasting your time, for which I apologize..Of course, I myself would look for a motherboard for donors, but I just don’t know by what criteria it should be done, again, sorry for not knowing
and sorry for my english, I just translate it through google
