- Original BIOS: https://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc...uj46u6.exe (3.25 12/'12)
Pretty sure it's a Pheonix no RSA.

I don't have the PCI ID for the original card because it died, but its either 8086:4235 or 8086:4236 https://wikidevi.com/wiki/Intel_WiFi_Lin...full_size)
I'd like wwan and any other whitelists that may exist removed too if possible

Some people have have already hacked this bios, but their links are down. If someone has them and wants to reup or just start again it would be more than appreciated.
Thanks!

Bricked Lenovo Y410P BIOS

Hi BIOS community Smile,

I have a Lenovo Y410P laptop and I recently made the mistake of trusting (and running) Lenovo's current BIOS update (3.08), which appeared to finish running the flash utility and restart the laptop, but after restarting it does not post. Upon pressing the power key the display never turns on, the power light and keyboard LED's turn on and are illuminated for ~10 seconds before the laptop power cycles and tries again infinitely.

I tried researching the problem for the past 2 days and have tried creating a FAT16, 1Gb partition on an 8Gb USB-pen drive (the other 7Gb is unpartitioned/unformatted) and loading the Crisis BIOS .bin file ("Yx01.bin"), as per an online guide found here. Using the Fn+R, (or Fn+B) keys I have had no results, unfortunately. It seems the laptop is indifferent to the keys I hold down. I have tried 12 or so different combinations I've seen online but none of them seem to have an effect. The USB drive's activity LED illuminates steadily for a second immediately after power-up, then never again until the next power cycle.  I believe this is just a normal power-up effect however, as the same happens to the LED's on a USB keyboard I tried attaching. Perhaps the USB is not set-up correctly, or the problem goes deeper...

Being thorough.. I've also tried WINCRIS from the linked guide but no amount of compatibility/administrator options could make the program run, I'm hoping to try it again tomorrow on another computer (without Windows 10).

I don't think my skills can take me any further so I'm reaching out to all of you with greater experience who might be able to save my beloved laptop!

Thank you in advance!!

Hello, I'm asking for the removal of the WLAN/WWAN whitelist on my X230 Tablet BIOS. The BIOS version is 2.73 (latest, from 2019/04/18)

Download link for stock BIOS: https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/gcuj32us.exe
My BIOS is posted as an attachment. It's SHA1 is EF4719377E6197F6ED5FA3A1B612B24E60128B1A
The (awful) card that came with the laptop is a 1x1 11bgn Wireless LAN PCI Express Half Mini Card Adapter, while the one I want to install is an Intel Centrino Ultimate N6300 (at least for now).

Many thanks.

Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite S875D with InsydeH20 Rev 3.7 (ver. 6.10) bios and I want to unlock the bios to enable virtualization.
The main problem is I cannot find an unlocked bios for my laptop, but there is an unlocked bios for the exact same bios but another manufacturer (ex. Dell, HP, Acer)
Can I use one of those unlocked bioses or must I have one from Toshiba?

I am a newby, so help would be appriciated  Big Grin  Smile

Hey,
i have a Lenovo L540 with a bad Bios. First it just showed the Lenovo Logo and a Time Error. "real time clock error". And i was not able to enter the Bios.
I took a Dump with a CH341A Programmer and tried to flash an other dump from the Internet. Now the Notebook powers on immediately after plugging in the power cord. The fan rotates and the screen is black!

What can i do?

I added the dump i took before i tried to reflash the chip and the File from the Lenovo Homepage.

i hope you can help me
best regards
Mawa

Questions about ThinkPad X230 Tablet BIOS mods

This is my first post here, hope I didn't post in the wrong section

Hello everyone, I decided to flash a modded BIOS on my ThinkPad X230 Tablet, mainly to remove the WLAN whitelist, but also for other stuff.
I'm currently waiting for the SOIC8 clip I ordered to arrive, but in the meantime, I have a few questions:

  1. This forum has a section dedicated to whitelist removals, where should I post if I wanted to do that along with other stuff?
  2. I'll be using a Raspberry Pi 3 B. Just to be safe, I decided to test all the pins I'll be connecting to the chip, and I found CS# to be outputting 3.12V constantly. Is it supposed to do that?
  3. Can voltage control and/or clock control be unlocked?
  4. I want to perform these mods in order of importance: WLAN whitelist removal, unlock of the Advanced menu, voltage/clock control, eGPU fix, WWAN whitelist removal. All are of these compatible with one another?
  5. What other cool stuff could be achieved by modding the Lenovo BIOS (no plans on installing coreboot)?
  6. Can I keep the security chip enabled with a custom BIOS? I'm asking because I have BitLocker enabled, which AFAIK stores the keys using the security chip. What about Secure boot (Windows won't retrieve the BitLocker unlock key if I disable that)
  7. If Lenovo releases a BIOS update, would it be possible to "unlock" some way to flash and patch via software? I'm asking because I don't have a Raspberry Pi myself, and are instead borrowing one.

Yeah it's a dinosaur, I saw a hack on here to upgrade the processor. But I wondered if someone could hack anymore into it. More ram or maybe give the onboard graphics more ram to share? Oh don't know if it's related but my bios sees 4 gigs of RAM but the OS only sees 3gig.(yes it is a 64 bit OS) id like to give that lost gig of ram to the graphics if I could.

[request] Jumper Ezbook X4 BIOS dump&unlock

Hi all,
I'm sorry to have just 1 message here and already need for help but I'm stucked after a repair to my Jumper ezbook x4.
The laptop is fully working, except for the battery charge that doesn't show the correct %(stucked at 63%) after I replaced the stock 4800mah battery with a custom one that I made with 8400mah. Voltage is the same 7.6V, but it looks like windows reccon it has a 4800mah unit, therefore it cannot fully charge.
That's why I'm asking for the bios unlock, because there may be a SW side workaround to the problem.
Last but not the least, there are no records online of a dumped BIOS so I guess I will have to dump it myselfe..but how?
It runs an intel n4100 and you can find the screenshot of the main bios page as attchment.

Thanks you in advance and sorry for the long explanation of the problem.

ps: I'd be more than willing to tip whoever is gonna give an hand.

Came across a Compaq presario SR2163wm today, which might be better (by a hair) than my demension e310.. wondered if there are any bios hacks out there. Also wondered if I'm truly binded to the 2 gigs of RAM it supports or can it handle more.

I have M72e tiny Lenovo Pc

https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds029184 is the bios

1. What is the max i7/ xeon cpu supported/listed in that bios microcode?
( provided i upgrade the power supply) I tried to get information on the lenovo forums and was told its impossible to upgrade from the 3470t thats in the unit shipped.

I wanted to upgrade to a xeon 1260l , what microcodes are included?
* is the chip i ordered (Intel Xeon E3-1260L SR00M 2.40GHz Quad-Core LGA1155 CPU 8MB 45W HD Graphics 2000)

Is it possible to mod the bios to include the microcodes?
Thanks!
