[REQUEST] Unlock BIOS for ACER ASPIRE 3 A315-51-316K

Hello all,
I am having Acer Aspire 3 A315-51-316K model i3 processor 7130U with 4 GB ram (Soldered). I use Fedora OS. I want to remove this and install new OS. For this, I created bootable USB and started the installation process. To my surprise, the BIOS asks for Current password after I press f2 or f12 button. So, I am unable to enter the BIOS settings now. 

I that three attempt and the Laptop gives a unlock code. The bios present in the laptop is of Insyde and the recovery code for Insyde is usualy 8 digit but the recovery code I received is 10 digit. I am sure its Insyde bios. I have already checked. So the back door bios reset option like bios-pw.org doesn't work.

I tried a hard reset by removing the laptop battery, CMOS battery and left for about an hour but still no use. I couldn't locate the jumper as well. 

Help me unlock the bios. Thank you.

Certain firmwares fail to properly initialize 0xE2 MSR register (MSR_BROADWELL_PKG_CST_CONFIG_CONTROL) across all the cores. This application prints 0xE2 values of all the cores and reports 0xE2 status. The notable example of desyncrhonised 0xE2 MSR registers are several GIGABYTE UEFI firmwares for Intel 100 Series and Intel 200 Series chipsets.
CFG Lock option is available on most APTIO V firmwares, although it may be hidden from the GUI. If VerifyMsrE2 reports that your 0xE2 register is consistently locked, you may try to unlock this option directly.
  1. Download UEFITool and IFR-Extractor.
  2. Open your firmware image in UEFITool and find CFG Lock unicode string. If it is not present, your firmware does not support this and you should stop.
  3. Extract the Setup.bin PE32 Image Section that UEFITool found via Extract Body.
  4. Run IFR-Extractor on the extracted file (e.g. ./ifrextract Setup.bin Setup.txt).
  5. Find CFG Lock, VarStoreInfo (VarOffset/VarName): in Setup.txt and remember the offset right after it (e.g. 0x123).
  6. Download and run a modified GRUB Shell, thx to brainsucker for the binary.
  7. Enter setup_var 0x123 0x00 command, where 0x123 should be replaced by your actual offset and reboot.
WARNING: variable offsets are unique not only to each motherboard but even to its firmware version. Never ever try to use an offset without checking.

I want to Disable CFG Lock. but dell bios are in exe file. i cant extract bios.rom from exe file. can anybody please help me modify my bios. thank you very much.

Dell 1537 microcode update Bios

Hi,

i have a problem with my Dell 1537 notebook (bios A11).

I installed a new CPU Core 2 Duo T7800. The Notebook works fine, there are no problems in operation.

When starting the notebook, there is an error : "no microcode update loaded for booting processor" and I have 2 choices (press F1 to continue and press F2 to enter BIOS)

Is there any way to get the microcode into the bios. A11 is the "newest" bios for the 1537...

Can someone help me ?

As a title I ask if you can please unlock all that you can unlock. I tried both with modifying modules and with amibcp replacing with 'USER' what I wanted, when I was going to flash (through the utility bios give error 11 size etc.) and through afu, error: secure rom flash error.

Hello,

I just purchased a "gaming" laptop and i'm going to use it for work.

I would like to change the "LEGION" logo to a Lenovo standard one.

I tried to open my BIOS file with Phoenix Insyde tool and I can't get nothing.

cpu Intel dual core E5300 @2.6ghz
gpu ATI radeon hd4600 series 1gb (RV730)
bios American Megatrends inc (AMI) 5.17
mobo Pegatron corporation 2A94h 1.02

i have overclocked my gpu and i am currently looking to unlock my bios to overclock my cpu im not sure if this can be done however some sites say is not possible but others have successfully overclocked their cpu from 2.6ghz to 3.6ghz (online not sure how true it is) but if i can get this done or even achieve anthing better it will be great im running a multi computing platform and this machine needs to catch up to the rest.


i did update the bios once but it did not unlock any extra features is it that my board has none?

i have tried a range of overclocking software which work on my other systems but this system is seriously locked i cannot even control the cpu fan
