[REQUEST] Mediacom SmartBook 11 m-sba11c

Hello everyone,

I recently bought a Mediacom SmartBook 11 (m-sba11c). All peripherals, trackpad, keyboard and usb included, aren't working; though Win 10 is loaded and seems it can works well. Reading around i found that could be a bios corruption problem. Mediacom support is very poor, no bios download on their site!  So i need a working bios backup for this model.

Using a CH341A pro i was able to dump the actual bios. Not sure, but should be an InsydeH20. If also someone has time to check it and reactivate the periphericals, would be really appreciated!
The must is an unlocked fully functional version of it.

Core 2 E8400, no post after microcode update

I have an old Acer t671, this computer has an ATI SB600 SR600 based motherboard. I tried to install a core 2 e8400 (wolfdale) but I was not getting any post. So I put back the old core 2 e6320 and updated the microcode on the bios with cbrom software, I flashed the new bios and resatard and it still works. I tried to backup the bios from the Mb to check if the microcode was there and it was, I used intelmicrocodelist.exe to check that.
However I get no post if I install the e8400 cpu. The cpu should be supported, there's this asrock motherboard based on the same chipset that supports core quad etc: http://www.asrock.com/mb/ATI/4Core1333-FullHD/

Any clue?

Dell optiplex 380 ahci mod please?

Hi, according to my computers manual and other users this machine (Optiplex 380) should support the changing of sata emulation modes. 
It however, does not. I have thoroughly checked. If a user would mod the bios to allow for this (I am pretty sure the sata controller is capable of this) I would be eternally thankful. 

I am using this bios, it has microcodes for xeons.

Aspire 5100 BIOS Question

What up!  Hey I am curious if the Aspire 5100 series can use MORE than 4 GB of RAM with an x64 version of Windows 7 Ultimate...  I have used this time honored machine (I rebuilt it  with new components and mobo)  The board is a Navarro serial # MB.ABE02.001.  I know it inside and out and have the ACER repair manual itself.  I have the latest BIOS v. 3.13 and I have wanted to take this machine up to 8 GB using two by fours.  Corsair only shows a kit of Two By Two GB.  Image may be NSFW.

I want to know if the BIOS can be modded to use over 8 GB using Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows 10 x64.  I know they had an update somewhere from 3.11ish to 3.13 to use 4 GB surely it can go higher...  I have read where folks with this same lappy have had black screens come up after upgrading RAM.  I can't find any other answers to this anywhere.  I know the machine is an old gramps but it works for me and what I need.  Image may be NSFW.

Corsair Part # CT51264AC667.M16FC DDR2 667Mhz PC2-5300 SODIMM.  It is I just don't want to buy RAM off Amazon or thebay and it NOT WORK and I get a black screen due to BIOS or board incompatibility as the RAM sticks are expensive! Image may be NSFW.

1. Acer aspire E1-451g
CPU: AMD A8 4500M
VC: Radeon 8750M 2GB
Ram: 4GB DDR3
HDD: 500GB
2. BIOS Password
3. Gift from my cousin, suddenly unable to boot, i think the CMOS batt. died, and so i replaced the batt. and the BIOS setting returned to default, and then when i pressed f2,
it ask for a password, boot from other device not working (f12), and i think the boot sequence list is gone, cant boot on HDD, USB or even CD..
4. After 3 Password tried on bios, it says "System Halt!", no code or what so ever. 
5. Any optional way to boot on hdd may do, i just have to boot it on hdd which has the OS.

Hi everyone,

As much as I love technology and IT, I really understand my limitations and I would like to submit this request to unlock the bios of my laptop, I am trying to unlock the advanced tab and take off the whitelist on the m.2 ports which doesn't allow me to connect an egpu.

[REQUEST] HP DV4 - 1280us BIOS unlock for CPU upgrade

Hi,

Please help to finish the upgrade of a friend's HP DV4 - 1280us notebook. He ordered a Core 2 Duo T9800 (2.93GHz) processor to upgrade from a T6400. I disassembled the notebook and changed the processor, but it is being recognized as a SP9400 by CPU-Z (2.4GHz) instead.
I think that the proper processor microcode for T9800 could be missing from the BIOS. Is it possible for it to be added in the BIOS?

The BIOS that is running on the notebook is version F66A:

I setup Windows 10 UEFI on this system but i think my motherboard does not support OEM splash load screen. BIOS file has a splash screen logo in it. But it does not show up when booting. Not even in POST screen. It is black. I dumped BIOS from the chip using  Intel's FPT tool. I want splash screen logo to appear and load windows with it. Nothing special here.

Any help would be appreciated.

Similiarly to my Lenovo IdeaPad Firmware Versions page, here is one dedicated to the Dell Inspiron Mini 1018.

Unfortunately, I have only managed to get the latest version, A02, so I would be grateful to anyone that can send any older versions, for the good  of the public.

Publicly released versions:
A00  A01  A02

I suspect that these are internal versions that were not released to the public:
X00  X01  X02  X03  X04  X05  X06  X07  X08

X06 = A00
X07 = A01
X08 = A02

The changelog is included with the bios (at least the public versions).

My Bios has recently corrupted on me and i have diagnosed and i know its the software side, i have just orderd Socket Adpter BIOS/24/25/93 Programmer JK and SOIC8 SOP8 Flash Chip IC Test Clip so I can flash it back, thing is I dont know how to get my hands on the Bios File, where the Bios chip is and what program I need to do it and how. The laptop is a Acer Aspire E1-570 and any help I can get would be appreciated

Long story short I got this netbook second hand.  It has an Intel Atom N2600 chip.  Intel's site says it should be 64 bit compatible.  I was wondering if there is a feature that could be modded to get this going.

Hi all,
I'm looking for a bios mod for the aspire 5732z to unlock the power menu of the bios.
Searching on this website, there have been multiple threads, however they are all either without response or the links have been long since deleted. 

If anybody could provide me with a working link or if they could modify the bios themselves, that would me great.

My laptop specs are:
- Acer Aspire 5732z-443G32Mn
- Intel Pentium T4400
- Bios InsydeH20 Rev. 3.5  V3.10 04/11/2010


Also, would it be possible for this laptop to run UEFi? I read that Insyde is UEFI firmware however my laptop doesn't have an option for this.

Reduce brightness of the keyboard backlight

I want to try reduce the brightness of the keyboard backlight on my Lenovo Yoga 2 13" - it only has one setting.

It's running an InsydeH2O v3.7 BIOS.

I noticed it fades in and out when turning it on and off so I figured it's probably PWM controlled. I found a schematic online and it shows it's connected to the BIOS via a PWM GPIO.

So now I'm looking for a way to adjust it. Is it possible? And how would I go about it?

Hello everybody, could you pls suggest me how to unlock Supermicro X8STi motherboard to support registered DDR3 RAM?

We tested KVR16R11D4/8 and KTH-PL313LV/16G, MB doesn't beep at all. It seems MB has to support registered memory bigger than 4GB taking into account chipset but it's locked in BIOS.
