is there any possible way to indentifie supported cpus in bios by microcodes. i have an asus laptop,and i cant get my hands on cpu support list,i even tried live chat with asus support
so here are the microcodes from my bios file

HP G61-408CA Insyde BIOS Recovery

I am trying to help a friend with their laptop which seemingly out of the blue has suffered from a BIOS corruption.

I've done so many different steps in trying to repair the laptop without success.

Most importantly I've followed the steps listed here http://www.bios-mods.com/bios-recovery/i...-recovery/ where I've downloaded all three BIOS versions from HP's site (sp48895, sp47530 and sp46806). I've tried both FAT and FAT32 formatted partitions with the disk named HP_TOOLS. When I boot the laptop into the BIOS recovery it beeps intermittently as if it is reading the drive for files and will beep for a few moments then continues to flash the caps/num. I am kind of at my wits end as I am not sure what else to do. I've also tried making the file name based on the INI file:

[Request] Acer Aspire 5552G-7641 whitelist removal

Hello,

I am trying to upgrade the WI-fi on my laptop to an Intel AC-7260 wireless adapter to take advantage of the new 802.11ac standard. It's not working.. when I put the new adapter in my laptop I get a solid underscore for about a minute then the computer crashes and restarts.

I have been searching for the last 8 hours (at least) for a solution to this. According to several forums I found this network adapter is not part of the white list on the bios. I'm hoping that's something that can be fixed.

All of the links that I found to a fixed bios without a white list are either dead or don't fix the problem. I am hoping you guys can lend me a hand and help me get this working by either removing the white list from the bios or having the new adapter added to it.

The unlocked bios in this thread is what I am requesting. I understand it's experimental. I understand that several people have bricked there mobo. I am about to part this computer out and trash the mobo, unless I can unlock the bios to OC. It is stickied to the top of the forum, but there are no active links.

I have dell 530s with a ORY007 mobo.

Tyan S5383 / unlock VT-x

Hi!

I'm trying to use Intel VT-x on an Tyan Tempest i5000PT S5383 board. Although there is an option for "Intel Virtualization" in the setup, the feature remains unusable ("locked") for any operating system.

I suspect a bug which causes that VT-x remains blocked.

The BIOS can be found on Tyan's FTP server: ftp://ftp.tyan.com/bios/S5383_v201.zip

And like all, got an error at startup screen...

Lenovo P400, Z400, P500, Z500

I'm trying w/o luck trying to unlock the pci-e wireless whitelist on my lenovo P400 Touch (I have an intel 7620 AC to put in it).

This BIOS is also for the similar P500, Z400, and Z500 (regular AND touch).

It is an Insyde EFI BIOS (hence why I posted here).

I tried unpacking the core... but aside from a couple "wireless setup" entries, I didn't see anything that screamed "whitelist" to me. Perhaps somebody around here has better luck.

Dear bios-mod community,

A couple of days ago i bought a new wifi card for my Lenovo thinkpad edge e535. The old one (bcm43142) had very bad support in linux. I called lenovo with the question which other wifi cards were supported by my machine. They adviced me the Intel centrino advanced-n 6250 (P/N: 60Y3195). The funny thing is, the new card won't work... I get the error that the card is not supported...

Is there any way that any of you guys can remove this idiot whitelist? I know there is another post with the same request. The problem with that post is that it only includes the old bios that does not support windows 8...

I have an HP Envy Touchsmart 4-1215dx and the Option GTM671W WWAN card and I would like the original BIOS modded to allow for this card in the whitelist if possible. I am unable to find the VID or PID for the card. I am having issues attaching the zipped BIOS rom file so it can be downloaded from my web site at http://www.computermedicaz.com/BIOS.zip. How to upgrade BIOS Gateway M-1617?

It's my first experience with Gateway (I prefer ThinkPads) and I'm absolutely confused now Confused Can someone explain me what's the matter?

Notebook M-1617
BIOS: 90.03 (09/27/2007) - I can see it in BIOS or obtain via dmidecode (yes, I like Linux)

There is a newer BIOS D906 and contains three files. One empty 6D06.WPH(0 B) and two exe files (both do nothing for me). I found out that Drayko was able to extract from it ROM and WHP files. (I'd like to know how Wink ) Nevertheless I tried to use it, thanks Drayko, but without result. I suppose I should to use Winplash utility. But the application froze during flashing (I used BIOS1.WPH file and log file is attached). What surprised me is how current BIOS was recognized (named) and it seems be the same as newer..
I tried to follow steps for similar computer - M-1625. It was little bit better - exe file extracts all needed files well. I stopped Winplash before flashing of course. But BIOS looks be the same again :-O (have a look at attachment PHLASH_9D05; I used this one Vista Recovery Disc).

I have a couple of questions. Is there newer BIOS for my motherboard or not? Is my procedure correct? What is the right name/version of my BIOS?
(I'm not the only one who have the problem with this kind of HW)

Noob request for Whitelist removal Thinkpad E420

Sorry for any lapse in protocol. I've read all stickies and will probably still get this wrong.

I have a ThinkPad Edge E420 (1141-55U) running 1.26/1.14/1.06

The wifi card has failed and I discovered like everyother poor boob that Lenovo has a whitelist. I'm trying to install an Intel Centrino Model 62ANHMW and need it added to the whitelist.

I will contribute for any help!

Let me know what you need or what other info to provide.
