This bios has settings to change base clock and voltages but the changes don't actually do anything when changed. Also the cpu multi is maxed at 20x. I managed to modify things with amibcp 3.46 but it didn't help because I really don't know what I'm doing. If someone could help me be able to overclock my X5650 I would be so thankful!

My system recently updated itself to a generic Insyde bios rendering NVIDIA and Intel graphics useless...just want to install back the vendor bios to be able to use the video cards again.
 
kindly remove the restriction as shown in the screenshot to be able to rollback to the original Acer bios...thank you in advance

Toshiba l505-111 bios - unlocking hidden features

I got myself new processor that supports virtualization but there is no option in bios to toggle VT-x. 
I extracted bios in phoenix tool and i noticed that there is virtualization option but its hidden.
I have no idea how to add these hidden options, I am completely new to bios modifications.
If anyone is willing to help me, I'll be very greatful.

Help for XPS17 L702X

Hello Guys: I don't want a modded bios, I need a Stock Bios for DELL XPS17 L702X but with updated CPU microcodes, i've tried to integrate them but new microcodes for my Cpu (cpuid 206A7 platform 12 Core I7 2820QM) are longer than the originals, so the file changes checksum and this is an error and must be fixed in order to avoid damages to motherboard, can you help me?

Guys, the new GL series gaming laptops from Asus come with an Asus logo in bios and not ROG logo like in the older notebooks. Can anyone edit the latest 306 bios file with a ROG logo? I tried my self with AFUtool and OEMinfo, I found the picture Asus but I don't know how to replace it.

Toshiba Satellite P300-1A0 - Crisis Recovery with USB Dongle only ?

Hi there, I have a :

Toshiba Satellite P300-1A0
Model No: PSPC4E-06L00YGR

here, which shows a black screen only. Power button is lid, trackpad is lid, Satellite Logo is lid and the touch buttons are all lid. Screen stays black and Windows wont boot.

I removed and exchanged both RAM slots.
I removed HDDs and DVD and wanted to try Crisis Recovery now. BIOS is V 4.20.

But neither Fn+B or WinKey+B works to boot from the Ready USB Stick.

Booting via USB Stick, FN+Esc will do 1 long beep + 2 short beeps (very loud)...according to my research its the graphics chip. :S

Booting via USB Floppy...a series of 10 beeps (followed by 1 more beep after 5 seconds) appears while the floppy starts to load. Then 1 loud beep every 15 seconds...while the floppy loads...then no more beeps and floppy stops doing anything. Power LED and Power Button keep blinking, fan is spinning.

I tried to name the bios file BIOS.WPH and BIOS.FD
Naming it BIOS.FD there will be one loud short deep tone and 2 high pitched tones...floppy stops.
Power LED and Power Button keep blinking, fan is spinning.

According to this page I need an external Floppy and a USB Dongle to do Crisis Recovery.
Would that be true ? :S Any alternatives ?

I let it run after the beeps and power button and power LED blinking for more then 20 minutes...it wont shut down...and I have to switch it off.

Still, black screen and windows wont boot.

775i65G R2.0 and a e5200 R0

Hi all,
I have this old 775i65G R2.0 (2.03 printed on the mobo). It had originally a pentium 4 531 and then along the time, i used other cpus like a pentium 4 630, 541... pentium D 930 if i recall correctly. All of them gave me no lag before the bios post screen.
I have another mobo, an ASUS P5KPL-AM SE, it had a e5200 r0, now it has a e6750, working ok.
The e5200 r0 the asus mobo had ... is now on the 775i65g r2.0 and now there is lag before the bios post screen. It seems like the mobo is trying to calibrate something for this e5200.
The E5200 e0/r0 is not on the cpu support list The cpu is correctly detected, BIOS itself said 1067a/a07 microcode in use.
All the features are there for this cpu.
I moded the latest BIOS 3.30 to removed 01167A07 from the list and added 01167A0B and also added other updated microcode.
Flashed my moded BIOS, named it 3.31 (i wonder if i can edit 3.30->3.31 on bios screens itself).
BUT result is the same. There is some lag before bios post screen. The lag is around 8-10 seconds.
So i wonder, is there something i can do to get rid of the lag?
E5200 uses 200 fsb 800mhz qdr, there is no OC involved.
E5200 is 67A. SLB9T... cleaned the paste few days ago.

I also noticed there is a BUG for the usb detection with all of released bioses for this board. After LOAD DEFAULTS+save+reboot+tweak bios, sometimes pendrives are not seen as *HISPEED* during bios post screen. Without *HISPEED*, usb boot up speed is sluggish, i can use plop boot manager to enable usb 2.0. BUT if i go to BIOS and load defaults+save+reboot+tweak one setting at time and reboot, the *HISPEED* is there. Im not sure who's reading is following what im saying.

Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have applied this Bios:

i booted DOS, and ran AFUDOS.EXE R1054Y2S.WPH
(unfortunately without /P )

The Laptop now stays black-screen when power-on.


I tried the procedure:

I ran Andy's Tool, and it says it is an Inside BIOS; recovery filename: Y2.rom

I formatted an USB Stick (old model, 1GB size) with FAT16,
and put Y2.rom into root FS.

The laptop has 3 USB ports, and I have tried all 3 ports with all known Keyboard-shortcuts, e.g.
$nokey-|FN-|Win-|Ctrl-|Alt- Esc|B|F|R|Home

In any case, the USB Stick's LED blinks once upon power-on, but then nothing.
(it should blinkg, when bios file is read, right?)

I have been 3 days on forums of MDL and here, and Sony Vaio Notebooks seems to be difficult to recover, with not much information and usercases available.

I am really looking for guidance here;
to me it seems I just miss the correct KB-shortcut to start recover procedure upon poweron...

Hi modding community. I would like help with modding my bios so that it enables the option to unlock all cores, since my PC has an AMD Phenom II X3 B75 and I wanna test if the fourth core is usable at all, not looking to overclock right now but if it's an option I would like to have it unlocked too. Here is the bios link. It says its a 786G6 bios version 1.17 Rev A. I also attach the CPU and Mainboard tabs from CPU-Z.
