[Request] Disabling Thermal Throttling

Hi there!

Unfortunately my laptop seems to have a broken CPU temp sensor and the laptop is constantly throttling to about 800mhz making it unusable! I checked every bios option in the advanced and chipset tabs and disabled everything related to temp but it made no difference at all.

Could someone look at this and figure out how to disable the thermal throttling?

This is my current bios: link THIS BIOS IS ALREADY UNLOCKED! (CHIPSET AND ADVANCED TABS)

Hi guys.


I had searched all internet about how to unlock Advanced Menu into my ultrabook, and all worthy site pointed to here.

So, I found a post from donovan6000 and Republic of Games here <https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-Unlocked-Acer-S3-391?page=2> teaching how to do it.

As I read, my own FW bkp is needed to do it. I`ve extracted the file with FPTw.exe - https://ufile.io/ufgr0

Hello, I'm new to bios modding and don't know much about it, but I was wondering if someone could change the alienware bios logo for me.

lenovo u310 bios update problem

Hi everyone

I am writing because i run out of ideas and options.
I wanted to make a hackintosh from laptop, baked up data, cleared hdd, installed new sdd, ram and wifi, and that where problems started.
Since my card was not on the whitelist i updated BIOS with one that has whitelist removed - 65cn99ww.

After update, everytime i want to start installation of os x, windows or even boot linux usb, screen dims out, like backlight control is not being controlled/functioning. 

at the beginig i suspected os, but after several trys with different os installations and linux usb i think the problem is BIOS.

Since i cannot see anything on the screen cant install windows and update BIOS by Lenovo tool.
Dos works, i am able to update through dos utilty, but i cannot find anywhere the *.bin or *.wph file of original BIOS.

Did anybody had similar issue, maybe you guys have any ideas what to try.

Like I said i run out of any possible solutions, and i am hopeless...

Problem flashing XPS 730 from DOS

Problem flashing XPS-730 bios as I want windows 10 eventually and cannot get 10 from Dells 2.0 slic (VISTA)

I used XPS730-010006.EXE /writeromfile to get a06.bin.  Using that award tool I replaced (hopefully) the 2.0 slic with 2.1

Have problem flashing using AWDFLASH 8.94, something is wrong, not sure what it is or how to fix it.

For a boot USB I used rufus 2.17 and installed freedos on a 32mb flash.  This booted up just fine on my XPS 730 motherboard (new $50 from eBay)

I first noticed something strange:  Any attempt to rename, save, copy a file causes a "write protect" warning, but the operation actually gets performed.  I just have to keep pressing "A" for (A)bort to finally get back to the DOS prompt.  A directory listing shows the operation (rename, save, copy etc) worked.

Anyway, I tried the following and got the error as shown below
awdflash A06SLIC.BIN BACKUP.BIN /QI

System must be reset afterwards as it hung.

Unless someone has a suggestion, I will dig out from my attic a copy of "8" that was never used and install "8", then upgrade to Windows 10 using Microsoft's "assistive technology" upgrade.  It is a waste of "8" but that was wasted when I bought it.

[EDIT] I do have a 1.44 floppy USB and could boot dos 6 but these files are big and I don't see how to do the backup at the same time as the flash as they both wont fit on the floppy.

Dell Optiplex 7010 & Xeon

Hey,
Sorry to revive old post, if it's forbidden I will create a new one, I'm new. After hours of research I found this thread so I hope you guys can help me. So I just got a dell optiplex 7010 with an i5 3470, wanting more Cpu power i want to upgrade my Cpu to a xeon of the same socket but I'm not sure of the compatibility or if i actually don't a modded bios. I was looking at the Xeon E3-1240 v2 or the Intel Xeon E3-1280 v2. I haven't bought any of them yet as I want to be sure before doing so. Here are my CpuZ screenshot:
