Unlock Dell Inspiron 5749 Bios

Hello,
         I'm new to this and I am wondering If anyone could assist me in modding my bios I'd be so thankful! Big Grin 

The reason for me modding my bios is that I have an e-GPU and a GTX 1050 Non-ti that I must enable Hot Plugging to the mpcie port for it to function because nvidia drivers fail to communicate with the card. This apparently is a known issue with the newer drivers as they don't function with mpcie unless hot plugging is enabled. I also guess I want to change the current link speed of the mpcie slot because it is currently set to 2.5 GT/s when it has a maximum of 5 GT/s but I can't change it because those settings are locked as well. Sad

BIOS mod gone wrong

Hello! I'm very new to BIOS modding, and I'm really stupid for not doing enough research...I initially wanted to update my old laptop and give it to my parents for Christmas, but I found out that the wireless card was not functioning properly, so I said "what the [censored]" and bought a new one (Intel 3160). I installed it and was then greeted with the wonderful "Wireless module not supported (704)" error. So I went to searching on how to get around the whitelist, I came across a few posts here and saw that many people have been helped by you guys, so I browse around and find the repository (https://www.bios-mods.com/BIOS/index.php?dir=Insyde%2F) and compare the files listed with known BIOS installation files on HP's website, I found a match (sp55375), downloaded and installed it on my laptop.

Now it won't boot and the CAPS lock light turns on for a second, off for a second, on for a second, off for two seconds. From this support forum (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01732674) that tells me that there is a BIOS error. That is where I am now.

Attached is a picture of the BIOS before I did any flashing.

The model for my laptop is an HP Pavilion dv6t-6c00 CTO Quad Edition. The most recently installed BIOS version that worked was version F.1C found here (http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/self...el/5214358)

I really hope that someone will be able to help me out with this.

Hello, I've just received the following laptop: Lenovo Yoga 510-14AST-80S9

The laptop contains a Realtek RTL8168 ethernet card which has full support for WOL but unfortunately, the BIOS has no options at all to enable it. While I can boot the laptop from Sleep using a Magic Packet, I desperately would like to do this from shutdown. Posting on these forums is my last desperate attempt.

BIOS Version: 1RCN26WW(V1.06)

I'm not quite sure how to create an image of my current BIOS but I'll upload pictures of the current BIOS settings shortly.

SOLUTIONS I HAVE TRYED .:

VOLUME KEYS , POWER KEYS TO ENTER SETUP ... WILL WORK , BUT ONLY TO THE FIRST SCREEN , NO CHANCE TO
OTHER TABS... USELESS TO TRY IT..

USE AFUWIN (APTIO) TO SAVE BIOS TO HARDDISK , TO RESET CMOS TO DEFAULTS OR SIMMILAR , AND FLASH IT
AGAIN ....BUT THE OPTION TO "DESTROY CMOS SETTINGS" IS NOT PRESENT . SO I HAVE TRYED SOME OTHER
POSSIBLE SOULUTIONS , BUT IT SEEMS THAT IAM TOO NEWBISH TO THAT , HAVE TRYED ALL THE TOOLS ARE 
AVAILABLE (AFUWIN "APTIO" , EFI-TOOL , MMTOOL , AMIBCP) THEY ALL WORK , BUT I DONT UNTERSTAND HOW HANDLE IT ... READ SOME HOW TO´s ,

What brand is the best ? in terms of no white-listing and removing tabs from the bios?

I had enough with HP and there stupid bios white-listing and removing features!

Edit: or could easly be modded by this community to have those features

Hi guys,
I own a Samsung model NP-Q1 tablet PC. I would like to upgrade it to Windows 10 but I can't because of lack of the eXecute Disable bit function.
Actually the processor (Celeron M ULV 353) supports it:

However i can't find it in the BIOS setting. I suspect that is hidden somewhere. Original bios download link:

There is anyone can unlock avanced settings and power option for this computer BIOS?
Because there is a whitelist in m-pcie port and i can't regnize my egpu and i can't set x2 retraining link on pcie port, i have already purchased egpu setup from Nando but i have to do everything from ThE beginning when i power off my laptop

Ram: 8gb
Hdd: 1 tb

Hello

I recently bought an lenovo G70-80 and tought i could upgrade wifi just like my old asus one.
So i bought an AC-7265 M2 and came to the conclussion that is not going to work without correct bios.
What can i do to make this work ?

Hello, I have a Sony Vaio VPCEH14FM upgraded cpu with i7-2860qm.

I would like all possible menus unlocked, but most importantly the "Intel Turbo Boost" option!

I also plan to use this for eGPU (via mPCIE).

Hi guys,
  I've been trying unlock the advanced menu in my bios for a long time.
  I already tried: 
    Decompiling the SetupUtility with IDA, but the entries are complete different from the donovan6000's tutorial. (I think it's because my bios is much newer)
    Using falseclock tutorial, trying to change the uefi variables. But seems like lenovo locked the vars, so I can't change it using an EFI shell.

So, I'm here asking if anyone can unlock it for me. And it'll be even better, if this person says to me how he did that. I'd be very glad for that, and you can be sure that I'll do a donation.

Hello everyone,

I'm a total noob on doing things with the BIOS, but I wanted to install macOS Sierra on my Laptop... Everything works fine except my graphic card (Intel HD Graphics 5500)
Windows says I should have 128MB dedicated RAM but in macOS it only shows 4MB...
So I found a solution on the Internet but I need to change the DVMT Value from 32MB to 128MB in my BIOS Settings...
I tried it using the EFI Shell and the Command "setup_var 0x18C 0x4" but it always shows an error (cant set variable using efi or something like that xD)


My Question: Is there a other way to do this?
