[Request] Lenovo G510 wifi cards whitelist removal

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a new wifi card for my Lenovo G510. However, I was unaware that my laptop has a whitelist for wifi cards.
My older card was from Broadcom, VID 14E4, PID 4365. I wanted to change it due to poor performance.

Current situation:
The new card, Intel 7260.HMWBN, is now into the laptop. In order to be able to boot I deactivated wifi from the BIOS. I searched the internet on how I could power up the card from within windows as this seemed to be the simplest solution and found nothing. It might also not be about powering it up, but writing info into the chipset to allow the card to be discovered - so this track is kind of dead to me.
OS: Windows 8.1

My BIOS, Insyde, can be flashed with official versions (example: 79cn46ww.exe) and even downgraded - went from 3.09 to 2.01 and then to 3.05. I can also benefit from the sleep bug found in 3.05 - that's why I kept this version. 2.01 did not have sleep functionality exposed into windows so could not test for sleep bug.

Can anyone help me with a customized BIOS and instructions to flash it?

Here are the links to the rom and results.rar:
rom: https://www.sendspace.com/file/rtwwfs
results: https://www.sendspace.com/file/ceh1kx

Both were taken with the sleep bug activated, with backup_tools12 and universal bios backup

Will v3.05 for the BIOS be permanent if the flashing succeeds, meaning no updates?

Thank you in advance.

Can someone upload or help me find the bios.fd in my laptop's bios update package? I cant seem to find the bios file in the bios update package provided by my laptop's manufcturer (Acer). My laptop's BIOS version is 1.13 ad i need its bios.fd to modify the DVMT-prealloc to install hackintosh. I downloaded the zip file provided by acer that is for my current bios version (BIOS_Acer_1.13_Windows_A_A.zip)

Upon unpacking the zip file BIOS_Acer_1.13_Windows_A_A.zip It extracts one exe called "A4WAB113.exe" (the self extracting zip file bios update package) I right clicked it and clicked the "extract here" and it extracted 10 files

-BiosImageProcx64.dll
-Ding.wav
-FlsHook.exe
-FlsHook.dll
-FWUpdLcl.exe
-H2OFFT-Wx64.exe
-iscflashx64.dll
-iscflashx64.sys
-platform.ini
-xerces-c_2_7.dll

I right clicked the 3 exe one by one and neither of them gave me an option of "extract here". Can someone help? give me a guide or upload the bios.fd of insydeh20 v1.13? Thanks! also, below you can see the bios update package of my laptop so that you can find it yourself too Smile

Lenovo Z50-70 Whitelist/BIOS unlock

Hello there,
My Lenovo Z50-70 implements a WiFi whitelist, I want to disable it in order to install a better wifi card.
My BIOS version is v91, and I don't like to go back to v26 for some reason, so what I want is to patch the v91 BIOS and revert back to v26 which has the bug, and then I can flash my modified v91 BIOS. I have done this before on my friend's laptop and it worked.

Can you please link me the tools that are needed to make the BIOS backup?

Thanks

I've followed Instructions from
Rufus - http://rufus.akeo.ie/
And also added on folders from LENOVO_Z500_P500_71CN51WW_NWL_ADV
https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...l-71cn51ww

I get this message:
Boot Failed: please change disks and press any key to enter
Screen photos attached.

Lenovo seems to have more roadbloacks for users modifying bios than other OEMs.  I'm thinking there are some Lenovo specific settings to change.

Thanks!!

Reverse engineer bootloader from pcDuino8 Uno image

I have several of these pcDuino8 Uno single board computers, they're equipped with some hefty octo-core ARM processors but the only OS available to run on them is the heavily locked down Ubuntu image provided by the manufacturer. The bootloader used by pcDuino devices is sunxi U-Boot, and there is a bootloader for the pcDuino3 available, but it unfortunately doesn't work with the 8 Uno.

Does anyone think they can reverse engineer this? I'd only need it to work with ALARM, but if it could function with any ARM OS installed on the drive that would be awesome.

pcDuino8 Uno OS image download: http://www.linksprite.com/image-for-pcduino8-uno/

pcDuino3 bootloader: http://os.archlinuxarm.org/os/sunxi/boot...th-spl.bin

P.S. Couldn't find a space for bootloaders or similar topics, so I hope general is alright. First time posting here but I'm generally familiar with the place thanks to all your thinkpad BIOS mods.

Hello,

I'd like to request a mod for my BIOS. Just want to unlock everything possible like using an-esata device as a slave/primary device.

The reason I am posting it here it here, because only Phoenix tools can open the BIOS. AMI cannot open the dump file.

-Manufacturer: Sony Vaio VPCF1390X
-Mobo model: Unknown, CPUZ just gave me that the chipset is intel DMI rev. 11, and Intel Southbridge rev. 05
-BIOS revision: R0190Y9
-Bios Type: Only Phoenix Tool opens.
-BIOS download link:

HPdv4000 BIOS update to support USB upon Startup

$

Hi, I have an HP dv4000 (p/n PC253AV). I would like to mod the BIOS to support booting from the USB drive at startup.
When using the embedded Phoenix BIOS setup utilityon the PC, and I select the USB as the primary boot device and try to save and exit the utility, the utility freezes and the USB related change is not saved (i.e. the PC still boots from the HD). So I’m assuming that the BIOS did not like the change and not the tool.  To make things more challenging HP no longer supports this laptop.   I cannot find as copy of the current BIOS on the web (F.16). I tried a CMOS copy tool that did not provide any useful information but was eventually successful in copying the BIOS.  When using  the Phoenix BIOS editor tool I did not see a way to accomplish my goal of adding a USB startup option.
The PC is running windows XP Pro SP3 X86. The motherboard HP board ID is 09BC and is using the Intel i915GMS/i910GML (Rev B) chipset.
Any thoughts on how to proceed?  Can this BIOS be modded to support USB boot? Is there a newer version of this BIOS that supports USB boot for this pc? Where can I find a repository of the correct BIOS?
Thanks, any help would be appreciated.
I have attached the Phoenix BIOS version F.16 file.
