vBios unlock for Asus G771JW

Hi all,

I have recently unlocked my main BIOS in my Asus laptop G771JW. Now temperature of processor doesn't throttle until it reaches 99C.

But I have a problem of flashing a vBios for my GPU 960M, as the limits of TDP and temperature throttling need to be changed in vBios aswell.

I tried using nvflash to extract my vBios but it says EEPROM ID process failed. I tried to used both x64 and DOS version, normal and with bypass.

Can you help me with this?

If any donate required for your help, just ask. Really, I can appreciate help from your side.

Thanks.

EDIT: I extracted my vBios using MMTool. Still I don't know how to remove that 84 degrees cap for GPU. (Cap for CPU is removed). NV vbios tweaker tool shows target temp. is 93, but it's not true. I can see in nv inspector that it's 84 and I can't change it, as it resets to 84.

[REQUEST] Vaio F11M1E Insyde Bios Unlock/Advanced Menu Point and Slic update to 2.3

Hi guys
I'm requesting a Bios unlock or modding so that the advanced Tab will be available in the bios menu. A quick update for Slic to be updated to version 2.3 would also be nice but isn't mandatory Smile I already looked at some Bios files myself but couldn't get anywhere because I just don't have the knowledge or experience to get stuff done. This is why I'm kindly asking for you to please mod this bios Smile
I already used the Backup Tools and here are the results: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzyZ1da...sp=sharing
I also attached the Files I extracted from the Bios Updater utility.
Thanks in advance Smile

[REQUEST] HP Pavilion g6 2230-ew BIOS Advanced settings access

$

Hello, I need to access the advanced settings menu in BIOS to set two things:

- Always Enable PEG to [enabled]
- PowerXpress Setting to [Muxed Fixed Scheme]

I need that to solve my problem with switchable graphics for the Open Broadcaster Software(it doesn't see my Radeon).

My current BIOS version is Insyde F.26, 2014-06-03, and SMBIOS version is 2.7 if that's needed too.

I would be very grateful for the help because I've already spend few weeks trying to solve the problem and everything I'm left with are these BIOS settings which I can't access(my BIOS don't have it/it's locked or hidden by HP). If I have to upload any file or give additional information - please tell me and sorry for troubling if I forgot about something.

About my BIOS being RSA signed - I am not 100% sure how to do that, but the BIN file from the latest BIOS update I downloaded from HP site is named 0183AF26.bin.

Looking for the answer, have a nice day everyone! Smile

[request] Xeon 2690 C2 SR0L0 on Asus X79 Sabertooth

Hi,

I hope you guys can help me getting together my Xeon 2690 and my Sabertooth. I would hate to trade it in for an Asrock or something.

Requirements for request:
- Bios Links:
Asus X79 Sabertooth 4801
Asus P9X79 WS 4802

What happens?
Although the 2690 is not listed in the CPU support list (only the V2 Ivy Bridge) the CPU works. However the turbo mode does not which hurts quite alot with the base clock at only 2.9 Ghz vs. the 3.8 Ghz at turbo mode. The P9X79 WS does offically support the 2690.

- CPU spec code:
C2 SR0L0

- Aida Screenshot:

Additional request: I got my handy on a Intel P3600 DC Pcie SSD with NVME. I dont know if I shall make a separate thread for this or not?

Hello Smile
After success of this:
https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-L...est--14334
and this
https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-4...od-Request

I believe to find some help here with my problem.

I need to put TV (DVB-T) card aboard into WWAN internal port.

My laptop (old, but not obsolete) Lenovo B570, well upgraded with i7, 12GB RAM and Cr..(very good)..al 500 GB SSD, for my needs - excellent Smile
BIOS: 43CN44WW
Current BIOS version: 44CN43WW_NWL_DOS_ByCamiloml.exe

My TV cards:
AverMedia A309 from HP DV5-1030
Yuan MC770 from Asus N71Vg

Problem remains with:
104-Unsupported WWAN network device detected.
System Halted. Remove device and restart.

Universal BIOS Backup Toolkit v2.0
Can not identify the BIOS !

One thing more, when I put TV card into WLAN port (a little crooked after installation, WLAN is half-sized instead of WWAN), laptop boots OK and recognizes it.

Could anyone help me to remove WWAN boot block message and let one of this TV cards live in this Lenovo ?

Thanks.

[Problem] Edit Microcode of Intel Server Board to allow ES Xeons

Hello everybody,

I own an Intel S2600CWT Intel Server Mainboard which I want to run with a Intel Xeon E5-2658 v3 ES (QEYP).
Unfortunately, I don't get a POST Message and it won't boot.

If I understand correctly, it is because the microcode is not supported in the bios, right?
So I should be able to edit the BIOS File (.cab) with UFU to edit the mCode Section?

I am totally new to modifying bioses, so I need some advice doing so.
You will find some screenshots of UFU and UEFITool Output.

It looks like UFU is recognizing the BIOS File, but I'm unsure about the output of the UEFI Tool. Does that look correct to you?

Finally, will I be able to use the Intel Bios Flasher oder do I need to use an external programmer?

Kind regards,
Homegamer

//Edit: I also included screenshots of MMT. Unfortunately, the CPU Patch tab is empty; shouldn't there be a list of the support mCodes?

//Edit2: So I have been informing myself further:
So I figured out how to chnage the mCode using the following link: Here
As I don't have another CPU to flash the BIOS using Intel Tools (Not even sure if this would even work), I ordered a CH341 Bios Programmer.

Finally, I only need help figuring out which mCode I have to use to allow for my ES.
Is there a Changelog for the different microcodes where I can see when the support for Enginnering Samples got dropped?

[Request] Acer Aspire E1-571 main and kbc bios

Hi guys,

sorry for my bad english  Tongue

I have a bricked Acer Aspire E1-571.
I have all the necessary for try a flash using a Raspberry Pi 2 and a SOIC Clip.
I have seen there are 2 bios chips in the MB, one of the KBC and one for the Main.
Unfortunately i have only the .fd (Q5WV1X64.fd) file for the bios and the file size doesn't match the chip size (is 7mb, less or more).
KBC chip size is 1mb, Main chip size is 4mb.

Do you have the 2 separated file bios or a tool that can extract the 2 files from the .fd file?

If i succeed with this, i can do a guide for all the community with the schematic to flash a bricked CHIP (with bricked recovery XD)

Thank you all.

Giulio.

Dell e6410 factory custom BIOS will not allow network driver

$

I just received in 11 Dell e6410 i7 laptops. Wireless network drivers will not install and Dell Support Driver Detect does not detect that the driver is missing (I was able to get a generic driver disk to install a driver for a Ethernet cable connection) though it detected all others. They are from the VA and upon looking up the service code there was a "Custom BIOS" installed (http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/ser...i_bios.pdf)

I'm pretty sure this is the problem; the VA, to protect patient information, made sure wireless network drivers would not install. Anyone know of a way around this? Or will the easiest solution be new motherboards?

Are the AMI BIOS tools still safe to use?

Hey everyone

I just got this new Asus laptop, model N551VW and at first sight, the bios modding here looks a lot easier than on my old hp which has this stupid RSA signed bios you couldn't do anything with...

I discovered certain tools like changelogo, amibcp, afuwin, ... and I just want to know, are they still safe? What are your experiences with it on more recent asus laptops?

I was able to extract my bios with afuwin and I was able to read and save it with amibcp. I was also able to extract the stock splash screen from the bios rom file and it all seems to work like it's supposed to.

Of course, extracting, reading and modifying is easy but how about writing the newly created bios rom to the bios chip? Let's say I just modified the splash screen logo with one of identical size (let's say the original one with a dot in it for exemple) would I be able to write this to the bios rom without any problems or would there be some verification issues, considering that I just got this laptop, I'd rather be extremely safe than sorry...

Just one last thing, If i decide to flash a modified one with afuwin and it ends up bricking my laptop, what do I do? I remember with my old hp it would boot of a usb drive when you pressed win + B on startup and it would reflash the bios if it was broken, does asus have such thing?
