Acer Aspire T671 AHCI mod request, AHCI rom present in bios...

The motherboard is Microstar MRS600M 
The bios link: BIOS
It's an Phoenix - Award WorkstationBIOS v6.00PG bios, I opened it with Award Bios Editor, I can see there's an AHCI4380.BIN under "PCI drivers", yet there is no option to enable AHCI in the bios, the SATA is stuck to IDE mode. The chipset south bridge should be ATI SB600 which I know supports AHCI.

I also extracted the rom _EN_CODE.BIN where I can see there's AHCI mode present but mispelled as ACHI ".ATI SATA Controller.ATI SATA Type .IDE .RAID .ACHI"

edit: Can this be done with modbin6 without risk?

So, I tried to modify the menu options with modbin6 to selectable under windows xp, saved the bios and reopened it with modbin6, it doesn't report any error. Is it safe to flash?

Lenovo Y50-70 UHD need DVMT-prealloc 128 mb

Hi there !

I am really in need of extending my DVMT-preallocated memory to 128 MB in order to install Hackintosh on my Lenovo Y50-70 having an UHD screen.


Machine name: Lenovo Y50-70 UHD version
CPU: Intel Core i7 4710HQ
Samsung SSD 512 GB
GTX 860M

BIOS version was downgraded to 1.14 from 3.03 today.

Would really appreciate if you modify my BIOS with 128 MB DVMT Preallocated memory and if you can to enable advanced settings menu.

I attached DSDT.bin dumped with RW 1.6.8.1 and also AIDA64 full report txt.

[Request] - Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Li2735 laptop Phoenix Bios Unlock

Hi all ! My name is Marius and i own an fujitsu-siemens amilo series, an old one that i enjoyed over the years. I've modified everything i could to this laptop, I've bought a new CPU, Intel Core2 Duo CPU T9300 @ 2.50GHz , I've installed an SSD drive instead of the old one, I've modded the cooling unit, upgraded to the maximum amount of RAM memory that is 4gb.
My new CPU supports virtualization (VT-x) but my Phoenix bios has the option to turn this feature on an off hidden.
I've upgraded the bios to the latest version witch is V1.10 but still i can't see any option about virtualization.
I've uploaded as an attachment to this post my untouched bios in all the forms(archive, iso, winflash, wph, etc) that i've found on the fujitsu support site  - BIOS FILES

I've tried myself to open the wph file with Phoenix Bios Editor Pro but i always receive an message that i the rom has an invalid size.
If someone here can help i will be very grateful and i will appreciate it very much i'l even make some donation.

I need access to amd cool n quiet or settings related to the cpu so i can get speed that my apu is advertised.

I used AmdMsrTweaker to find out what the problem is and as i expected turbo core is locked Sad

the turbo core option is greyed out in amd overdrive

Amd Pscheck display the turbo core speed 3.5ghz but the apu never goes over 2.5ghz i use rivaturner and hardwareinfo 64 to monitored my temperature and speed and it never pass 2.5ghz im not trying to overclock the cpu.

BDDMASTER told me that the only way to unlock my bios is via falseclock method but since his thread is overload with request i decided to make my own post.

Hi I was wondering if I could kindly request an unlock for my Insyde BIOS version F.21 (link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp67001-67500/sp67261.exe )  I would like to be able to access the advanced options in order to disable Turbo Core technology fully via BIOS and change the allocated video memory if it's available.  Thank you very much in advance for any help!


P.S. I tried to attach the setup file for the BIOS but it wouldn't let me attach an .exe file and it said that the .zip was too big.

I enclose latest firmware 1.3 of commell lv-67b
I need firmware with the following 2 mods
1. 1333mhz ram support. I have installed  2x4gb 1333mhz ram modules but are recognized as 1066mhz
2. usb-flash or usb-hdd boot support. Currently I cannot boot from usb-hdd and I cannot fix my SATA HDD which is corrupted. The original Microsoft CD failed to reinstall operating system.  If I could boot from an external usb-hdd or flash drive then I could probably solve the corruption since I would initialize it and format it under windows. I also tried the following and does not work:the flash disk can be put into 1 of 3 modes USB-FDD, USB-HDD, AUTO. The Auto mode guesses either FDD or HDD. When in the FDD mode the bios treats the flash disk like a floppy. This mode DOES NOT work with the tools for building a USB flash Drive. The HDD mode does work. To use this mode however, you need to specify Hard disk as the booting device and the modify the Hard drive boot order to put your USB Flash disk first. However in the harddisk booting device I don't get a usb flash drive boot order. There is a bug in the bios as the usb even if it is recognized, it does not get picked up in the hdd boot order. I tried operating system with windows 8.1 and ntfs file system with 2 partition one being 350mb with the filesystem and the 2nd partition being 50GB.
3. when selecting ahci (rather than ide) in the bios, cd rom is not recognized. I have to use ide. If something goes bad with ahci in windows I have problem accessing the cd-rom in order to invoke the windows CD-ROM.

2 maybe can be fixed with purchasing an external usb enclosure with sata 2.0 support. 3 can be bypassed by always choosing ide rater than ahci support. So 1, ram frequency, is the most important. The motherboard supports intel P9600 so it is not so bad as it seems.

ASUS P7H55-M-LX BIOS VCore bug

Hello guys! 

Motherboard : P7H55-M LX
Bios : 0406 
CPU : Core i5 760
RAM: 2x2Gb Kingston hyperX 1600Mhz.

the problem is that
When i changed BCLK Frequency to 150 or above on Jumperfree Configuration section, VCore offset voltage setting is gone. 
And when i changed BCLK Frequency back to 149 or lower, VCore offset voltage setting does not appear. 
VCore offset voltage setting is only appear, when i set BIOS to defaults. 

Please, give me solution, because i can not overclock my i5 without increasing vcore above 3,6Ghz.

Dell XPS 14Z without panel

Hi all,

First of all, thanks everyone for your hard work.

I have a Dell XPS 14Z with a busted case, everything works fine but it'd be too expensive to rebuild the case and I don't really need this laptop anymore, so I thought about turning it into a media center. I'd like to get it to run without the unnecessary hardware (keyboard, trackpad, ...) and also to remove the LCD panel and just keep the motherboard in a custom case.

The problem I have is that I can't figure out a way to get the laptop to boot with the panel disconnected from the motherboard. I'd like to keep this panel for another project (maybe make a frame to display net-art via a raspberry pi with an hdmi -> lvds board, kind of a diy electric objects' EO1, but this still needs to be tested...)

I've been searching the forum for some infos and I was able to flash the modded A06 bios for this computer, released by Donovan6000.

I tried various settings in the advanced tab, under the Video section, and what seems to be a way to get it to not check if a panel is present is to put the primary display to PEG instead of IGFX or SG. When I reboot, video immediately start being output through the display port, but I can only get a blinking white cursor for about a minute and then the cursor stops blinking and I get the 8 beeps of death, can't even access the BIOS. I get this error with the LCD panel connected or not. 
Any other settings I tried always output the video to the LCD panel first and immediately gives me the 8 beeps if I disconnect the panel.

I found a thread on Dell's forum about the Alienware M18x R2 giving the 8 beeps if primary display is set to PEG, and it looks like deactivating Non-Turbo flex support solves the problem, but I don't see this option in the XPS 14Z BIOS.

Sorry for being a BIOS noob...

Does anyone have any suggestion to get this motherboard to boot, either via a combination of BIOS settings, or tricking it into thinking there's a panel connected ?
