I need help with bios recovery for ThinkPad Edge E545

I do know for sure that my bios is infected with virus, so I need to recover it.
I downloaded bios recovery program hruj25ww.exe from lenovo site, installed it. And inside installation directory i have file c:\Drivers\Flash\hruj25ww\HRET25WW\$0AHR000.FL1 with size of approximately 8MB.

After that i tried to extract BIOS.WPH from this file with T43_recovery.zip package utility

e_bcpvpw.exe $0AHR000.FL1 BIOS.WPH

but i get next message: Source file format not acceptable - missing header!

So how to create recovery USB flash for that notebook?

I need a way to get WPH file.

To create the Phoenix Uefi Bios Recovery disk

Prepare a removable USB storage device with a capacity size greater than 10 MB.

Note that all data on the USB storage device will be cleared during the creation of the crisis disk.

Set up a computer running the Windows OS and plug in the USB storage device into an available USB port.

Go to windows start and open cmd

and follow
  • Diskpart
  • list disk
  • select disk #    (usb device number)
  • clean
  • convert gpt
  • create paritition primary
  • format fs=fat32 quick
  • assign
  • exit
Then copy Boot folder in usb drive

File Download url :  http://rghost.net/8MPBX9Q24

Then Copy EFI folder in your pendrive

Open efi/boot/"paste your bios file.cap or wph or rom"

you need to configure uefi boot mode

preconfigured device to ready to

and follow instrutions for flashing
  • fs0:
  • Pflash.efi /bak             (frist make backup using this cammand)
  • pflash.efi /force bios.cap     (flash)
  • pflash.efi /as bios.cap         (flash)
You can flash modded bios using this recovery

Hey!
I'd like to unlock my system's InsydeH2O bios so I can access all the different options.
As an anecdote, I remember a week ago something happened (random?) right after installing Kali Linux on my laptop and i was able to access
the advanced options until I rebooted back into my system. Wasn't ever able to replicate it, sadly.

Anyways:

here is the .rom file created by the backup tool:
https://www.sendspace.com/file/fxg61q

here is the Universal BIOS Backup results .rar:
https://www.sendspace.com/file/14egnu

EDIT: here's a screenshot of my current BIOS options:
https://www.sendspace.com/file/me0fnq

I also have an older version of the BIOS file for my laptop that I can potentially downgrade to (or post another new .rom/results.rar after the downgrade) in order to make this thing work.

Thanks for the help! I'll donate.

Lenovo G570 Rewrite InsydeH2O BIOS from USB

Hello BIOS-Mods Community! I am romanian.
I own a Lenovo G570 laptop. Two days ago I flashed BIOS with  NWL (NoWhiteList) and ADV (ADVanced menu unlocked). All thinghs ok until I went to Video Config and set Primary Display from SG to PEG. I thought that PEG is abbreviation from PciExpressGraphics, but I discovered it comes from Peripheral Graphics. Since then, BIOS can't see my video card and can't boot, can't enter in bios, can't nothing, only black screen.

Things I tried:
1. Reset CMOS with CMOS battery method. It reset only the BIOS password, not entire BIOS settings.
2. I followed this tutorial https://www.bios-mods.com/bios-recovery/...-recovery/ ; Andy P’s SLIC tool from My Digital Life results that my BIOS recovery file name is "PIWG1.bi?". I downloaded the original BIOS for G540 and G570 from Lenovo site, extract it with 7zip to find BIOS bin file. I renamed PIWG2219.bin to PIWG1.bin and I placed it in root of 4GB stick FAT formated with 64kb.
I took out my DVD and HDD.
If I put only the HDD back (without DVD, USB or alimentation battery inserted), when I start laptop normally, at normal fan speed, it beep once. So laptop can see HDD. I took out HDD.
If I insert in laptop only the the USB stick, it beep once. So laptop can see my USB stick.
I keep in lapto USB stick. I keep out of laptop the alimentation battery and the power cord. With these two disconnected I hold Fn+B. I reconnect only the power cord. I press the power button. The fan goes to maximum speed, so it obviously go in recovery mode or something.
Now in BIOS recovery mode, at maximum fan speed with USB stick inserted, laptop not beeps, LED on USB stick lights up so it reads the USB stick, but THE ONLY PROBLEM is that cannot find the BIOS recovery file. I waited 30+ minutes, but unfortunately nothing happens.

I think maybe the recovery file name is wrong.

Please help me. I don't want to buy a new motherboard because it obviously can be recovered, but I don't know the recovery file name. On internet, it's no such of case for g570 or g540. It's for g550 but the case is totally different because the BIOS isn't InsydeH2O, it's Phoenix and the bios file is in ".wph" format, not ".bin".

Anyway, any small help would be appreciated.

[REQUEST] VIA VB7002 unlocking hidden options

$

Hello!

I hope the Phoenix section is correct, the bios posts as "Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG". Item of interest is a VIA VB7002 ITX motherboard:
http://www.viatech.com/en/support/eol/vb7002-eol/

Bios download:
https://cdn.viaembedded.com/eol_products...200102.BIN

There must be some hidden options in the section "Frequency/Voltage Control". In the manual of the VB7002 on pages 51 to 53 there it says you can change clocks for CPU Host/PCIEX/AGP/PCI to several different settings (default, 133/100/66/33 or 137/100/68/34 for example), but I cant see them. The last option I actually see in there is "Auto Detect PCI Clk", the mentioned clock settings should be right below according to the manual. Perhaps there are even more options to unlock.

Can these options be restored?

Thanks!

Fan speed control

Hi
I have a Asus Transformer Flipbook TP300L. I was wondering if you can help me add the Fan control and Flash Back option in the Bios. I know the problem of lowering my CPUS fan but it is an i3-4030U CPU so over heating will not be a problem. The problem that i have right now is that when i turned the laptop on, the fan is always at 100% speed even in Windows. This means it is very loud and it is draining my battery even quicker. The bios i have right now is version 202. Can you help me?
P.S the Winflash is for flashing the bios and the other one is the bios version.
Thank you

Is there a BIOS mod or really any possible way to overclock a chip on this motherboard? I bought it years ago and never had the slightest intention to OC it, but now I'd really like to and it's seemingly impossible.

How do I insert epa logo into....

$

So, I have a Biostar P4VMA-M that I just recently bought and received. It has the Award/Phoenix BIOS. However, this one does not even have an EPA logo, it's just blank, and it also says nothing about being an energy star ally like many Award BIOSes do. There is no way to turn it on or off in the BIOS and with closer inspection with CBROM, it doesn't even exist in the bios file, period.

So my question is, is there a way to actually add it in manually? I want the good old fashion one that is yellow and green, not the cheapened out pure yellow one. The BIOS version is VMA0118.BFM. I'm a regular at MSFN but I figured this will be over most of their heads and even though it's a bit of a moot point, it doesn't feel 100% complete without the logo at the top. Is there anyone who has the answer to this one? Thanks!
