Hello, I know this board is old but just wanted to see if anyone could check the BIOS to verify it can accept this CPU
The Gigabyte website states it can support it but unfortunately it seems it does not
It recognizes the CPU on boot but when trying to install Windows or Linux it crashes
I've tested the CPU in another system and it works fine, swapped memory, Video, hard drives, no go

one thing that seems really strange is that the file size is different
Downloaded file from Gigabyte website is 486.6kb
extracted file ma69vms2.f10 is 524kb
extracted bin is 131kb

Maybe I extracted the file incorrectly?

memory timing /support

Hello I recently picked up an hp pro 3010 microtower with an ipiel-la3 (aka eureka3) pegatron motherboard, I should have known that it would be fussy about ram the last pegatron board I had was too.

Anyway my ram works with an 800fsb cpu installed but not with a 1333fsb cpu installed the ram is at the moment 2x4gb and 2x2gb of kingston hyperX  the 4gb ones have an xmp profile too.

I have discovered that the ram timing is responsible for the post issues in that only a few rams with the correct timings will work (hp approved modules Dodgy ) generic rams wont even get past post the fans spin up and nothing else happens.

The thing is the modules that came with the pc are pc3-10600 1333fsb dimms  downclocked by the g43 chipset to 1066fsb work perfectly well wit a 1333fsb cpu, the jedec profiles according to cpu-z are the same on the Kingston rams as the original Samsung ones but they just don't want to work.

My question is where in an ami bios is the memory timing data stored? and can I replace it with a more generic friendly version?

I am researching how to use the spdtool to modify the ram eprom incase I can't modify the bios, but given that the motherboard is £15 used and the rams are £20-30 each I would rather mod the board,

I'm getting the "unauthorized network card" message which you're all familiar with. I'm looking to get past this message so that I can use my laptop with a decent WiFi card rather than the poor quality ones supplied by lenovo.

I'm aware that there is already a thread on here for this laptop but I find it quite hard to follow and some of the instructions on there aren't that clear.

If someone can give me a complete walk through of how to do this with clear instructions I will be very grateful.

My laptop is a Lenovo y50-70 running Windows 10

My current bios is 9ecn30ww(v1.13)

This is the results file I got when I ran a back up of my bios, I think this is useful?

Thanks a lot for your time.

memory profile timing

Could anyone tell which module in the bios controls memory timing for the ram?

I have an hp ipiel-la3 revision 1.02 motherboard (aka eureka3) that is very fussy about what ram it accept it will do 16gb according to hp.

If I use an 800fsb cpu my Kingston hyperx rams work fine (2x4gb genesis 1600 2x2gb hyperx 1333) but as soon as I install a 1333 fsb cpu the pc wont even post unless I fit the original Samsung 1gb modules in.

there are other posts online about this board and it' very limited ram support, I would like if I can to alter the default timings in the bios so that I can use more generic ram instead of  hp's "approved" ram.

the original Samsung modules are ddr3 1333 speed that get clocked down to 1066 (max board supports) and according to cpu-z with them fitted in another board have the same jedec profiles as the Kingston ram but inspecting the epp/spd eprom with spdtool.exe I see a fair few different values.

I would prefer to mod the bios since the board is £15 and the rams are a fair bit more, so I don't want to practice on them and ruin perfectly good ram.

I'd like to request BIOS support for a core i7 820qm (and higher if not too much trouble) on a gateway nv55c laptop. The current BIOS is v1.30 which only supports up to core i7 640m.

This should link to the Gateway BIOS download:

http://us.gateway.com/gw/en/US/content/d...-downloads

CPUID output for current CPU and motherboard are attached.

Below is link to the BIOS site for an HP Pavilion dv7 which has the same HM55 chipset and (I think) support for core i7 820qm. I was unable to post the .fd file, please let me know and I can send it some other way.

Thanks in advance for your help Smile

HP Pavilion (FOXCONN 2AB1) Modded BIOS

Hello. I'm new to the forums, but I've dug deep within and did the homework and haven't come up with anything for modding my bios within my HP Pavilion p6813w.

The motherboard is from FOXCONN, yet I run into a dead end on finding the bios. I know I should be researching more into how to use Award BIOS and to do it myself, but I have tried and cannot figure out what the I'm doing haha. I've really like some help or a point in the right direction to someone who'd be willing to tell me what I have to mod my bios or even someone that has modded these bios before. I've been longing to overclock my system for a long time now without having to switch out the motherboard. Anything would be great. Thanks.

I have a toshiba c655d-s5300. I have the current BIOS version 1.08. Which can be found here: http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/...0yv180.exe

The only option I really want to enable is Virtualization. It's disabled for seemingly no reason. That pisses me off plus i'd like to run Andy the android emulator.

Thanks for your help Smile

Hello everyone. The long way making AHCI mode works on my laptop ends after yet another bios modification... I replaced MOD_5100.ROM module with one that has AHCI initialization commands (i guessed so) and added AHCI option rom OPROM6.ROM. flashed as i usual do with phlash16 from DOS. reboot and i got nothing. just blank screen. i tried phoenix recovery with usb stick but vain. tried Fn+B, Win+B, Fn+Esc... nothing works.
Maybe someone more experienced could tell me how to figure out this sad situation.
Any help appreciated!

[REQUEST] How to Downgrade Lenovo Ideapad BIOS - U410

$

Hi, new to the forum (though not new to computers) and I've searched around for 2 days for a potential answer to this, if answer already posted please send me a link.

My upgraded my Windows 7 U410 to Windows 10 and it was running sluggish. I decided to see if there were updates for the BIOS and found that there were two:

65cn21ww.exe - for Windows 7
65cn99ww.exe - for Windows 8.1

As Windows 10 seems more like 8.1 than 7 I decided to flash the 65cn99ww.exe BIOS. Big mistake, windows 10 wouldn't boot, tried everything that I could think of in the BIOS to get things working and it seems that the update broke the UFEI / RAID setup. Tried restoring backups - no go then fresh install of windows 7 and couldn't downgrade the BIOS - 233 error. Even tried fresh install of 8.1 & 10, no luck on downgrading, then I found this forum. Try as I might I couldn't find or figure out how to downgrade the BIOS.

I found poster's link to the 65cn13ww.exe BIOS (appears to be original contents of the SFX file) and another post about replacing the "environment.dll" file in one of the "[REQUEST] Lenovo IdeaPad U410 Whitelist removal request ..." threads

All this to ask what is the best way to downgrade the BIOS on my originally Windows 7 Lenovo Ideapad U410?

Thanks
   Dave
