Need a Packard Bell 'Dot a' unlocked BIOS

Hi,

I have a Packard Bell dot a netbook. I tried to upgrade memory from 2Gb to 4Gb.
BIOS recognized the 4Gb but I couldn't use it, in windows I saw only 1,75 Gb usable memory (same as with 2Gb RAM before).

First I tried to update BIOS since I thought that causes the problem and this is why I don't see any settings in it. So I tried to install 1.18 version with the windows installer but after reboot I have a black screen, it looks like I'll have to do a BIOS recovery, described in the service manual (attached).

But once I start working around this, an unlocked BIOS would be great.
Official 1.18 BIOS attached.

Many thanks in advance!!!
Regards
Adrian

Bad BIOS flash - Bricked Fujitsu Lifebook E8420

Greetings,

I was attempting to mod SLIC2.1 table onto my BIOS using AndyP's SLIC tool:
http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/13194-Tool-to-Insert-Replace-SLIC-in-Phoenix-Insyde-Dell-EFI-BIOSes

I believe i selected the wrong mode: SSV2; should have had selected dynamic mode instead that update existing SLIC2.0 table to 2.1

Initially, there was one beep then follow by two beeps. I assumed I might need to reset the BIOS before the new BIOS would worked. Thus I removed the CMOS battery and waited 5mins to power on the laptop. Alas, it got worst, now there is no beeps at all. the LCD indicators have the num lock, caps lock and scroll lock symbols flashing consistently - indicating the mainboard is bricked.

I downloaded CRISIS Recovery Disk Tool (WINCRISIS) and created the BIOS recovery USB boot drive:
https://www.bios-mods.com/bios-recovery/phoenix-bios-recovery/

Followed these instructions to the letter but no joy:
https://forum.ts.fujitsu.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=94&t=40926

the original is BIOS_data.rom and I renamed it to BIOS.WPH

I'm not 100% sure if it's a binary bios, but it should be the case (2048Kb). I attached the BIOS file, i'd appreciate if anyone can confirm this

I'm at wits' end and I'd be grateful for any input and assistance

Thanks very much

Hey

Ive been having truble with the Asrock Z97M OC FORMULA not detecting my i7 5775c broadwell cpu, Asrock did send me a link to a new bios. But still no IGPU option.

The file ive got is this:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0By6uXQzKtvmrRFd4d2F6Yk53NDg/view

And as you can see from the images here:

http://imgur.com/a/7gYke

I can only choose PCI-E.

My Question is. Can anybody look at the bios and see if there is something wrong with it regarding IGPU settings. If there is northing wrong with it, i have to RMA the cpu or the motherboard.

Forum post on Asrocks site is:

Cheers

Kim

And thanks for you time.

Have a P5K Premium, with modded BIOS 1101*ASUS-P5KPremium-WiFi-AP-1011-DELL_SLIC21_DELL_SLP* (I think that only change was Slic 2.1 inserted)

Now it's time to change HDD's.

1. Can I use 3TB drive with this mobo (If not, is there a way to fix it)
2. Is it better to go for 1x3TB or 2x2TB-in-RAID
3. Which tool can I use in W7 64bit, to get detailed info about BIOS

...once upon a time I used to... today, I don't even know which gc I have in my PC... so much about a time&life...

Hello there

I wanted to upgrade my memory size from 2 gb to 4 gb but the laptop won't boot up
I know you won;t guarantee any success relating to this particular problem but I thought I'd bring it up before requesting to unlock this bios
I won't need to hack it if there is no way I could make the motherboard accept more ram

the machine is COMPAQ presario v6430ee
I'm not sure about bios model but it says
BIOS Version/Date Hewlett-Packard F.28, 03/10/2007

Hi all!! I need to unlock advanced setting on this bios becouse i HAVE TO "ERASE" my discrete video card and use only the intel HD one (i suppose the ati one has some hardware problems...).

but unfortunally it doesn't work Sad ,
when i go to the advanced tab -> Video Configuration i can switch between:
[>Hybrid, iVGA, dVGA]
but if i select >iVGA at reboot my screen stay black and no HP logo is shown, so i've restored the original bios.

ACER Aspire One bios with two fd files

Hi

Beginner question:
Why does my Laptop's (Acer Aspire One ,AOD255E) BIOS (InsydeH20 3.5) has two fd files? Which one should I take to work with (phoenix Tool)?
I tried PAV70D2.fd and the tool extracted a structure. But what for is the second one? Can I build a valid BIOS with only one file or do I have to merge them somehow before?

No "supress if" only "grayout if"

Hello

I would like to enable "Power=>Advanced CPU Control==>Use XD Capability on my Laptop Acer TravelMate 8172.
For tests I have a Acer Aspire One (CPU also supports XD bit). The "power" section is not visible at all in the BIOS screen.

But PhoenixTool structure export shows mostly no "supress if" commands but only "grayout if" (see extraction below). With missing "suppress" one (I) would expect that the power menu is visible but greayed out. But is is not visible at all. Is it worth a try or is this an indication that more effort is needed than simply "ungray" the forms and then they appear?

Thanks for any tips.
