Unlocked all hidden settings in BIOS possible?
if not can I has Level 7 FAN SPEED @ 87c (also 95c), 128MB DVMT Pre-Allocated, WWAN Whitelist and Intel HD Graphics OC ability(not sure about this one, probably won't be)?

I have found these stuff, so probably fan speed thingy can be changed. currently the fan never go full speed, only level 6 tops probably, even at 100c its still not full speed.

[REQUEST] Dell GX520 Core 2 Duo E4300 microcode

Hello everyone,

I've been reading a lot online about the chipset of my GX520 being technically able to support Core 2 Duos, but it is not allowed by Dell. However besides the Processor restriction (and some issues with memory mapping) I love my machine. Also cash is tight right now and I can't afford to buy another one that can outbeat what I've done to it so far. So any support with getting the bios to take a Core 2 Duo would be great!

I would please like the micro codes for the Core 2 Duo E4300 (06F2) (06FD), Core 2 Duo E6300 (06F6), Core 2 Duo E4700 (06FB), Core 2 Duo E6700 (06F6) to be added.

I have included the micro codes in the parentheses above.

I already have an E4300 and E6300 laying around but might get an E4700 or E6700 in the future.

The current CPU is a Pentium 4 521 so I would prefer if the micro code for that could be kept also.

I have laptop ASUS A7M it has Sempron 3200+ (1.6 GHz, 1 core)
Now i put in it TK-57 (AMD Athlon 64 X2) proc.

When i start my laptop i get massage

i`ve already flashed latest BIOS. Didn`t work.
I`ve tried CPU PATCH my BIOS with MMTOOL, but didn`t work (maybe i`m trying wrong microcode)

I have a HP Pavilion dv7t-6100 CTO Quad Edition Entertainment Notebook PC that needs a whitelist mod.
My router supplies 5Ghz, but no joy with this laptop.

The current card is a Intel 112BNHMW and according to HP manual the dual is an Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 Model 62230ANHMW wifi card. My bios version is F.1B.

Can you explain how I would backup old bios and try whitelist bios?

If you need more info please let me know.

Help failed to flash bios Dell 630i

Hi so I was attempting to update my bios to a modded version of my bios so that I could run a 771 processor on my 775 socket.

so I followed all the instructions here: http://www.delidded.com/how-to-update-cpu-microcode-in-award-or-phoenix-bios/

then used the bios update section here with the phoenix update (Phoenix BIOS= PHLASH)

Little did I know that as far as I have looked now mine is an award bios as it used to say "PHOENIX-AWARDBIOS" in the bios.


Anyway I flashed it and now it wont even POST! Huh

It turns on, no beeps but no POST. not even a big dell logo. nothing.


I've tried all of the bios recovery methods that I can find and nothing seems to work. I've tried to flash it back to the un modded Dell bios using a bootable usb.
Ive tried hard resets. including jumper pins. cmos battery removal. 24 hours with nothing inc battery plugged in.
Still nothing.

The last option I see available is to replace the bios chip with a pre-loaded one.

Is there anything else I can do aside from this?

Hello,
I'm novice in this forum and I hope it's the right place to put this request, please help me !
My PC has msg "Default Boot Device Missing or Boot Failed." No boot from usb/cd/HD and no post bios.
I used the FN+ESC procedure putting on usb key the V5WE2x64.fd I've found on internet. I renamed it in bios.fd otherwise pc sounds 3 long beep and shutdown after few second.
Tryied different V5WE2x64.fd but usb and Pc blinked over 20-30 minutes (someone says right time was "2..5 min" !) with no result.

Acer Aspire 5470G Bricked

Hi guys im hoping i can get some assistance in getting this laptop back up and running..

It all started with heat issues so i cleaned it up and replaced the thermal paste, still generating too much heat and a little research suggests the bios update could help it.

So i proceeded to download and flash acer aspire 5740G bios version 1.28, using the dreaded winphlash ( i know stupid mistake, whats worse its not the first time ive made it).

after it flashed and rebooted "black screen" and spent the better half of 8 hours researching and trying to fix.

Acer Aspire 5740G
Intel i5 430m
radeon 5470
4gb RAM
500GB HDD
Windows 7 64bit
SNID: 00111404720

Tried:

BIOS_Acer_1.10_A_A
BIOS_Acer_1.16_A_A
BIOS_Acer_1.22_A_A
BIOS_Acer_1.28_A_A

Used mulltiple different version of Phlash
Used different version of Crisis disk
Used an 8GB pen drive, 450MB pen drive and a 64MB SDcard.. oh and burning to CD + DVD

Tried under windows XP x86, Win7 x64

Tried FN+ESC / FN+B / WINKEY+ B / FN+F / CTRL+ESC
Tried With battery in and without
Tried using .WPH + .ROM and tried renaming and copying to root

Couldnt figure the Phoenix tool to tell me what to name it properly

The Bios was originally on 1.09 (can't seem to locate that anywhere)


Wish i could give more information but i dont have a clue what MOBO it is and not even 100% sure it phoenix having said that i also tried Insyde.

NONE of the above have even hinted at the Pen drive light flashing and the cdrom spins for 5 seconds. I dont think its the bios or phlash version i going to hazard a guess its not recognizing the USB either because the bios name is incorrect or its not applying it as a boot device.

Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated

I got an old work computer here that i have been trying to increase the CPU Fan speed on. Unfortunately, I can't find the hot keys to get into the advanced AMI Bios. I have attached the saved Bios. If someone could Unlock it for me i would be greatly appreciated.

Screenshots: I don't have access to the laptop just yet so I don't have any but if it's needed I can try and get it asap. But I do remember that it did not have an advanced menu.

Please help me change the boot logo of Asrock z97x Killer Motherboard

I really do not like the default KILLER logo of the z97x killer and I really want to change it with my own. Does this need to be done with a uefi bios mod or is there another way? The link to the motherboard site is here:

How to disable Protected Range Registers on bios of Acer Vn7-591G?

I have a Acer VN7-591G with a bios version of 1.13. When I tried to flash my bis, I kept getting the same message,
"Error 28: Protected Range Registers are currently set by BIOS, preventing flash access.
Please contact the target system BIOS vendor for an option to disable Protected Range Registers."

I have already used prr.exe and prr2.exe but with no luck. I already had my bios unlocked to get advanced setting. Can anyone tell me what I can do?

Hi!
I have a laptop Asus x71sl and after years my hd goes broke, i bought one new, a ssd OCZ but after upgraded it and the official motherboard asus firmware, i still can't enable AHCI support.
Really sorry i'm a real noob about it, and i really don't know if it's possible to do that...

Hello im newbie at this so please be calm. Today i wanted to update bios on my laptop Lenovo g500s and it said that i have newer bios already any way here is screenshot.

Only reason i wanted to update bios is that i might get overclock options but from what i read official one won't do it.

HP G60 249-WM have .WPH but need to flash from DOS

I downloaded the F.54 rev. a bios update from the HP site.

Problem is, it is in format WPH and I need to flash from DOS as my OS (Win 7) is not installed. I downloaded Phoenix phlash16 to flash in a dos environment but the wph kicks back and error. I am guessing WPH is meant to be flashed from a Windows environment.

What should I do?
