Hi All,

I have a Sony SVE1511A1EW mainboard with the latest bios running (i think ?) R0180E5

I have upgrader the orginal cpu INTEL B970 to a I5-2450M

The cpu is reconized correctly in windows but the computer turn off every 30 minutes Image may be NSFW.

Hi:

I'm a college student that study in Nanjing Medical University,Jiangsu,China

I bought this Notebook in 2011/06/12,and it's bios was InsydeH2O Rev3.5,MotherBoard is HP 166D

Now,The bios was been updated officially upto F.66 from F.06

But it still not contian EFI function

Now,With Windows8 become more and more popular and i want to boot MAC OS X with Clover EFI,so i want someone can help me to add or repair some modules to support EFI Boot,this is my olny wish...

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E330 - WWAN whitelist removal

Hello. Can anyone please remove WWAN whitelist from this BIOS:

-Manufacturer: Lenovo
-Motherboard Model: Thinkpad Edge E330 3354-AG1
-Bios revision: H3ET31WW (1.14)
-Bios Type: Phoenix EFI

There is also newer BIOS version on vendor site, but utility wont flash, just writes this to log:

Error : Fail to initialize flash.

Error code = 203

I suspect this could be caused by Secure Boot or some other option enabled, but i cant find any mention of those in bios setup. Also boot cd image they provide doesnt seem to be bootable at all.
Should i maybe try to install latest version under DOS and get back with newer ROM backup? Or Lenovo's flashers are somewhat special and simple DOS wont make the trick?

HP Mini 210-2000sw locked BIOS, problem with Broadcom Crystal HD

I bought a mini pci-e card Broadcom crystal HD BCM70012. In my netbook, i have to uninstall gobi2000(3G modem) which was there from the new. In OS(Win8), It is not recognized by device menager or Crystal hd setup(from official site). Seller said that some of the HP devices could be locked. I found this site, but I am not sure what I have to do in that situation.
My question is, Did anyone have a similar problem, I've tried installing older versions from HP site(i have now the newest F.24) but It didn't help. Please, is there someone who can tell me what to do. The card is new, so I bet it is not broken.

HP dc7700 issue with e7600 microcode update

Help with an HP CPU Microcode update.

I have a couple of HP/Compaq DC7700 PCs. They came with Pentium 3.0 ghz dual core cpus. HP has a microcode update to allow C2D cpus to function. So, I bought two Core 2 duo e7600 cpus. Before the microcode updates, the PCs beeped and complained. Also the fans reved up and went full to full speed. So, I applied the microcode update and no more beep or runaway fam issue. But those were replaced with two NEW issues.

1. The e7600 is a 3.06 ghz chip and it is only running at 1600mhz. The multiplier is stuck at 6x. Seems like SpeedStep is broken. Full speed is 11.5x. The e7600 chips have a CPU id of 1067A. Seems with this particular CPU id is messed up in the microcode. There are many HP forum discussion on this.

2. When the PC goes into sleep mode, is wont/can't wake. Nothing but a hard shutdown 10 sec power button can get it out of sleep.

As stated before these two issue are widely reported and HP has turned a blind eye to it. BTW, other CPUs (not 1067A) do not seem to have the issue. At least none reported.

So, I turn you you fine poeple in search of a resolution to this perplexing microcode problem. Any ideas? I hope that without all that other BIOS stuff to deal with, this would be an easy fix?

Asus P7F-M WS - i7-875k CPU Ratio Settings support

Hi,

is there a chance to edit de Bios to support greater CPU Ratio Settings than the defaults? The i7-875k has an free Multiplikator but the Bios highest value is 22 (default turbo ratio).

Bios: AMI
Mainboard: Asus P7F-M WS
CPU: Intel Core i7-875k

I tryed AMIBCP 3.46 but i can only change the Value from user to extend user, supervisor and reserved. (Advanced -> CPU Configuration -> CPU Ratio Settings)

i need help unlocking my bios and i need all of the hidden menus to be unhidden because ive been trying to install mac os x and i have tried almost very distro and they all freeze before they get to the installer because the bios isnt allowing the install discs to access certain information
here is some info on my system

Northbridge AMD 785GX rev. 00
Southbridge AMD SB800 rev. 40
i am on bios version 1.80
any help would be greatly appreciated
And i uploded the iso image file for the bios and i compressed it since the site would not let me upload it just as it was

Compatible battery and bios problems

I've bought a new battery for my notebook, an old AMILO Li 2727, but when it is plugged in and I try to turn on the laptop, the BIOS blocks Image may be NSFW.
Clik here to view. Angry. If I remove it and restart the computer, it works properly, even if I plug the battery after the end of the BIOS check.

I think is some control on the battery that fails and make the BIOS loop on the check, in fact when it is blocked, pressing F2/ESC/F12 make the string at the bottom of the screen change, writing "Entering into BIOS setup", but it will remain blocked (even the ctrl+alt+canc to reboot works Image may be NSFW.

Have you any solution for this problem? Unfortunately the BIOS' features are not so numerous, and there isn't any options on the power pane (furthermore there isn't any power pane!) I thought at a custom mod of the BIOS firmware, but I'm not so practice at flashing BIOS (it s a Phoenix one!).

Hi, I hope someone can help me. I am trying to replace the HDD in my Acer Travelmate 8481TG with an OCZ Vector SSD however for some reason the SSD is not being detected by the BIOS. It was recommended as a possible solution that a modified BIOS could help by having access to all the menus/settings. I would really appreciate it if someone could offer a modified BIOS for my Acer Travelmate 8481TG.
