Xeon E5430 - can't install x64 OS on Abit IP35

Hello,

I got Abit IP35 Dark Rider, it comes with the same BIOS version as IP35-E. But AHCI can be accessed through BIOS there.

I got C2D E7200 installed there and everything was OK. But now there is Xeon E5430 and its somewhat unstable. There is an issue that i cannot install x64 system like W7 or W8, but when I try x86 everything is OK. Simply after booting after clean install (W7) or loading before install (W8) it loops and restart, again and again. Even x64 Ubuntu cannot load on liveDVD!!!

The latest modded BIOS v. 18 was also flashed. In the attachement another older version 17 of the BIOS modded by this guy: http://genius239239.myweb.hinet.net/771/ But he also think it is because of BIOS and he dont know how to fix it.

There was no issue when E7200 was there in the same configuration (mobo, RAM). Virtualization is enabled, but seemes to be problem here....

Hello,

I have a Lenovo G500 with bios 78cn25ww (v2.03).

Attached you will find my current bios settings.

I would like to have the advanced settings unlocked, more specifically, I just need to change the default HD4000 VRAM value.

If it doesn't add any more risk than unlocking advanced settings, I would also like to have wifi whitelist removed, but that's only a "nice to have".

Could it be done safely?

hello all,

first of id like to say thank you all in advance for any help provided. i have searched throughout the forum and although there was a few threads for this model, none had provided a verified and stable bios mod that i can see or the overall support just dropped. as this model is now a few years older i was hoping one would be able to try tackling this task again. Im aware this model comes in 3 versions and the one i have is the Intel Graphics - Energy Star Ed. i have flashed to the latest bios they have listed and i would like to have the whitelist removed so i can install a Wireless AC + bluetooth internal card.

Bios Upgrade for RAM increase

Hello everyone,

My notebook is of Model Thinkpad Edge 15 with only 2GB of RAM(Samsung DDR3 1333 MHz) which has two memory slots and the memory is expandable to 8GB as per Lenovo specifications. I decided to increase the RAM and got a 4GB Kingstone ValueRAM of 1333 MHz.

But when I reboot the notebook after installing the RAM, the laptop just freezes at the beginning of the boot process and shows a dark screen only. I'm confused what I' doing wrong. Do I have to upgrade my BIOS...?

Any help would be appreciated....

Hi!

I have a Dell Inspiron 6400, his bios don't have AHCI option.

The latest official bios is here:

I tried open the MM061A17.rom with Phoenix Editor (BIOSEdit2.2.13 Beta1) but it returns "No BCPs found!"

I know in Dell Inspiron 1525 has the AHCI option, but i cant open the .rom file either Sad (i'm absolutely newbie modifying bios...)

My SATA controller is:
00:1f.2 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801GBM/GHM (ICH7-M Family) SATA Controller [IDE mode] (rev 01)

My idea is extract the option and possibly the driver included in inspiron 1525 and copy them for inspiron 6400, but i dont know if is it possible... Big Grin

Can anybody help me?

Hey,

Trying to flash my Bios but i got a few problems.. I got a custom laptop so i cant go to a website like asus or something... When I run CPU-Z it says my motherboard is Notebook W65-67SF and my BIOS is American Megatrends Inc 1.03.03

At this moment my BIOS is very limited with options. I want/need more options.

Whats the best thing to do now? I hope someone can help me...

bios splited files EC and MAIN

I there guys , i usually when i have to reflash is due to have the entire computer open , i dont make motherboard repair . and usually i dont do thing like you guys do with pen recoverys etc , i have a bios chip flasher for all kind of chips .

my problem is , i have toshibas l850 can anyone make the the split file ?
one rom is for EC and another rom is for MAIN . can anyone split them for me ?

the main file is over than 6 megavytes , i can attach here my original dumps for you can chek were you have to cut to make me does split files .

the dump will be in the attachement. thk in advance , i got a bit of urgence on this .
well it only allow me to put 2 mb files on attachment so , the EC dump must be this size , the rest of the cuted bios will be the MAIN .

Unlock CPU-Support Futro S450 / S500

Hello bios-mods.com-Team,

I have a Problem.
I changed the CPU in a Fujitsu Siemens Futro S450 to a Turion X2 TL-58 and in a S500 (nearly same Board) to a TL-60 for much more Power.

But both CPU only running with 800 MHz (like the normal CPU TF-20).
Is it possible to unlock the correct CPU-Speed by modifying the BIOS?

I uploaded the BIOS for you.
I'm really new at bios-modifying so please help me :-)

Snooping workers

This last week I have experienced a worker who has stolen my USB drive and looked through all the files. I reported it as invasion of privacy and my boss said he could do a thing about it. I was wanting to leave a surprise for him next time since he did it again yesterday. I was wondering if there was anyway I could leave a .bat file or something to wipe his BIOS. Is there such a command?

Hello!

I've got NTT nettop with AMI BIOS build on: Intel Atom 230 1,6GHz, chipset: MCP7A-ION. Factory BIOS hasn't possibility to change FSB frequency. I've tried AMIBCS but there is no menu with CPU configuration parameters, there is only info menu. Could you modify BIOS ripped by "afudos" to enable that option or show me how to define manualy requested FSB rate?

[ Request ] BIOS upgrade Gateway NE56R

I'm new to this site, and am not sure if I'm doing this correctly. I want to have a mod for the current BIOS on my Gateway laptop. The model is in the subject. What I want to be able to do is modify the amount of dedicated memory towards Intel HD Graphics. That option, in this laptops current BIOS, to edit the dedicated memory, is not available. It is not selectable either. If anyone could do anything to help me with that, that would be great.
