So here it goes,
I have an HP Pavilion DV6-3231nr with an Intel WIFI Link 1000.
I also have a hackintosh installation on it but doesn't support the card, so I bought a new one, which is an Atheros AR5B93. I turned on the laptop, it then shows the dreaded WLAN Module ID 702 error.
I searched the internet about the problem and found about the whitelists. I stumbled upon this site and downloaded the
modded bios by Camiloml.
It installed fine. I shut down the laptop and placed the new wifi card. I turned it on and I saw the 702 error message flashing on the screen then the screen turned black (It seemed to pass the error). I waited a while but tried restarting. The laptop now is dead and the screen doesn't turn on but the fans can be heard. It seemed to have been bricked so I restored using
Donovan's brick recovery.
Now it's working again. I placed the original wifi card (Intel WIFI) but it suddenly stopped working and cannot be seen on the Device Manager. I'm completely screwed.
I need help though:
- How can I make my Intel WIFI working again? I believe it's still ok though, maybe a problem with the BIOS?
- Some say that
Camiloml's sp55299 mod isn't working. Maybe someone here has a working mod in hand? Or even an explanation of why it isn't working?
- I also read about the
Pin 20 tape trick. Is it the one that will do the trick?
