When the BIOS installing file's name is same...

I got an old HP Pavilion dv6-6183TX laptop from my friend and I wanna upgrade its WLAN card into better one. Original installed WLAN card is Intel Wireless-N 1030 and the card that I want to change is Intel Advanced-N 6235. When I just installed 6235 and I turned laptop on, it said like "code 104 unsupported wireless network device dected" and I know there's a whitelist on this laptop. So I saw the HP site's original BIOS updating file and the file name is "sp55068.exe". And I saw some wireless whitelist deleted modified BIOSs in here.
So, I have question. I saw wireless whitelist modified BIOSs with containing name "sp55068" on this site, Will it compatiable for this laptop? I saw that dv6-6xxx series laptops's bios installing files are having the same name "sp55068". Are they all the same file?

Gigabyte BRIX gb-bsi3ha-6100 flashed with wrog BIOS

Hi Everyone,
I´ve accidentialy upgraded my Gigabyte BRIX gb-bsi3ha-6100 with a BIOS for a BRIX gb-bki5ha-7200. I was in a hurry an did not double check...
It results in a black screen after windows boots up, cause windows pulls the wrong graphic drivers, cause it expects an i5 CPU 7th generation.
I tried to flash with the correct BIOS using afuefix64.efi, but therefor you need to set a switch in BIOS "Me FW Image Re-Flash". This switch is active till a reboot, and after saving the BIOS the machine boots twice, resulting that this switch is disabled again.
Trying to update the BIOS using afuwin64.exe gives me error 4c - ROM file information does not match system BIOS.
Is there a chance to get the original BIOS back on that machine? Like editing the GB-BSi3HA-6100 BIOS to fit on the gb-bki5ha-7200-System? Probably it checks the CPU-ID?
Links to the BIOS:
Correct one: GB-BSi3HA-6100
Wrong one, I used to flash: GB-BKi5HA-7200

Thanks in advance.

Hi, please HELP ME !

I flashed my Lenovo 330-15igm bios back to 7XCN36WW after I installed the last available bios and now the laptop doesn't turn on. I only have black screen and white led when I connect it to the power (battery is currently disconnected).

I have:

7XCN36WW.exe
bios .bin file extracted
bios_rel.fd file

it's an Insyde BIOS

I hope you can help me with the USB method, what I need to do more??

This is really an urgent situation, I hope you can help me. I'm really desesperate cause I need to use the laptop.

I just uploaded the previous BIOS I have:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/wp5qjkyv8...W.exe/file
https://www.mediafire.com/file/vklh323u7...el.fd/file
https://www.mediafire.com/file/d9jbkn2ju...p.bin/file

I just read that I need to change the start and the end of the .fd file and copy it to an USB drive but I can't find info related to the name of the file and the program I need to use.

I'm currently trying to get the filename for the crisis method ( forums.mydigitallife .net/threads/undocumented-insyde-bios-recovery-method-use-andys-tool-to-obtain-possible-names.13095/page-32 ) I hope you can help me

Edit: Just found the filename but I the pendrive isn't read when the laptop is on...

PLEASE HELP ME

I've looked everywhere for either the 310 bios or a way to unlock the overclocking menu on my MB so I can overclock my CPU and memory.  Any help is greatly appreciated.  My ROM dump is attached.

Make/Model: Advantech AIMB-742
manual: https://advdownload.advantech.com/produc...al_Ed2.pdf
datasheet: https://ecauk.com/files/2011/08/Advantec...asheet.pdf

Bios version:
AIMB-742 V2.00
Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00 PG

Download link:
I do not have the download link. Advantech does not post a link to this on their website and contacting support was unhelpful.
This means I have to dump it. What is the preferred way to do this? I used Winflash on windows 98 to dump this (see attached), but I don't know if this is a valid dump or not.
See also attached: info from CPU-Z, Award BIOS editor

What I'm looking for here is over/underclocking options. The only thing exposed in the menus is "Spread Spectrum control".

I really just want to underclock this because certain games on windows 98 do not like the CPU being so fast; and also I want to be able to run the fan quiet because it's rather loud.

I’m trying to get a 9th gen K cpu and a bga1440 tweaked cpu to work on the p870dm-g laptop, but I’m having trouble finding the modded bios that supports it. It’s fine if it just has support for the cpus, but it would be fantastic if it is unlocked an supports overclocking as well. If anyone has the bios, could you share it with me?

[REQUEST] Asus Z170-A Bios Enable PTT and Remove PTT Suppress check

Can anyone modify the bios of Asus Z170-A to be compatible with Windows 11?
PTT must be enabled.
PCH-FW Configuration menu is hidden!
Using AMIBCP I've moded the bios and enabled PCH-FW Configuration but once I've Enabled PTT and restarted the PC the bios just reset that setting and change back to dTPM (the discrete module that I don't have).
I found that Asus bios checked if PTT is enabled and suppressed it.
I have no idea but you can't enable PTT on that motherboard.
Can anyone mod the bios to remove PTT Suppress check?
Here are the original bios and the moded bios

[Solved] Gigabyte 8I865GME-775-RH R6.6 - Pentium E5400

Hello,

I have a 8I865GME-775-RH (rev. 6.6) motherboard and I want to use a Wolfdale CPU to get more CPU performance on this retro-friendly platform. This board has official support for Conroe CPUs. I modded the BIOS, injected Wolfdale ucode and SLIC 2.1 into it. After this mod, my Pentium E5400 boots and runs my OSes without crashes, but the multiplier stucks at 6x, so only 1.2 GHz of CPU speed.

I tried many benchmarks and stress tests, and also other OSes, however the CPU still runs at 6x. On the BIOS - PC Health Status page, it shows Vcore = FAIL.

My problem is just like https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-R...tuck-at-6x - same family of Gigabyte 865 boards, and same 1.2 GHz problem with a Wolfdale CPU.

So a BIOS mod like the one above may just work on my board. I would be grateful if anyone can patch the BIOS for full CPU speed with my E5400.

I'm using my modified BIOS with SLIC, so it's better to use my mod (GME775.BIN) as the basis for this patch. I also posted the stock BIOS (GME775P2.FE.BIN) below.

Thanks in advance!

Other diagnostics:
Load BIOS defaults - no help
Remove and reinstall the clock battery - no help

[Request] Possible MSI PM8M3-V C2D support

So I just got back from a local recycler and managed to find a rather interesting motherboard. It's an MSI PM8M3-V, and it uses a VIA P4M800 chipset with AGP and DDR. However, I have found another motherboard which appears to have the same chipset with a similar design, yet it has Core 2 support. I wonder if anyone could check for differences between these 2 images? Don't have time to test it at the moment but since it's not supported I am sure the system just won't POST. Both are Award if I'm correct.

Hello all

I have a big problem because I replaced a flooded motherboard in my latitude 7480, unfortunately I cannot log into the company's system on the new one because the service tag is different. How can I change it, I've tried all the methods. I have a bios batch of the disc but I have no idea how to do it by editing the bios batch. If someone could help me, I would be very grateful.

[request] MOD gz700gx bios 308 (What i missing?)

I tried to modify and flash the newly updated bios 308 of gz700gx, but it didn't work out from the bottom line.

So I want to explain the methods I did, and I wonder if you can explain why it didn't work.

1. After updating the bios, through FPTW64.EXE,
With the fptw64.exe-bios-dump.rom command,
Dumped bios were obtained.

2. Hidden functions of bios were made into USER through AMIBCP and stored in DUMP2.ROM.

3. After that, I found the offset value through uefitools and IFRextractor.
It moved to GRUB SHELL through USB booting and attempted to change the offset.

4. And through FPTW,
The FPTW64.EXE-BIOS-FDUMP2.ROM command was executed, but it did not work well. (error 167)

I wonder what I did without here and the problem of the process.

Thank you for reading it.
