I would much rather use the ubuntu and ghex method of editing the BIOS partition directly. This is the easiest way of modding the BIOS, and so I would prefer this over anything, but if there is a safer way (flashing a modified BIOS) I will do that. 2 links to examples of this ubuntu method can be found below:

https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide...fi.183578/
https://patrikesn.wordpress.com/2015/01/...miix-2-11/

I have also included a link to the /sys/firmware folder from my BIOS partition below. I obtained this via ubuntu by copying it to my Windows partition (C:\).

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-fxiw...2V3SnNBSDA

The link to download the BIOS is:

https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mob...cn26ww.exe

My end goal is to be able to unlock the advanced menu so that I can modify the settings, enabling me to install macOS Sierra on a seperate partition. I will also look into overclocking and undervolting if available, but this is primarily for the macOS.

I appreciate any help and thanks in advance!

Have a good day!

Request for whitelist removal Lenovo N581

I would like to request help with the removal of the wireless card whitelist in the bios of my lenovo N581 laptop. From what I have read on this site this can only be done with a backup of the current bios that is in the machine now,as there is no one size fits all. So I will leave attached my backup made by the suggested tool. I hope some one can help. Also if it would be easier, if someone could just give me a detailed explanation as to what to do I would have no problem attempting to do the mod myself. I have some understanding. I am not a noob, but a long way from figuring out how to do it on my own. I have looked for a tutorial on my machine with no luck. I am open to either getting it done or doing it myself(with help). Thanks for any help you can provide and for all the work you and those associated with this site have given us ... ...lesser minds LoL

Hello

i would like to make a request for the hidden menu tabs and wifi whitelist if possible
When i got the file back and updated and it seems to work i will gladly make a 5dollar paypal contribution
My Laptop is a Lenovo Y50 20378 the UHD model

I'm Currently on InsydeH20 Bios version 90CN31WW (v1.14)
Attached is the backupfile from the bios currently installed on my laptop

I got this by extracting the Bios update executable and editing plateform.ini that was inside,
then executing the updater that was also in that folder.)

Edits done:

Flag=1
FilePath=

this resulted in 2 new files in that directory after the update.
the one attached is the one that had _new in the name.

Merely writing the details to make sure i done the things in the right manner.

Will allow me to set my DVMT_prealloc value?

**Props to DeathBringer for adding the microcode to the bios**

The Inspiron 518 with bios 1.0.8 has partial support out of the box for X5450.

DeathBringer has injected LGA 771 microcodes to get full support for X5450.

With these bios you will gain the full the full instruction set for the X5450 (VT-X, SSE4.1, CompareExchange128 etc)
If you own an Inspiron 518 and have an X5450, you will not be able to upgrade to Windows 10 without these instructions.

Attached are the modified bios.

Thanks DeathBringer for your time and work.

Instructions to install the bios (Very Important as Win Flash will p00p the bed if you do not pass bios name as a parameter)
1. Unpack all files to c:\bios
2. Run cmd with admin rights.
3. Do in command line: cd c:\bios
Then type in: WinFlash 7C1D1P29.BIN

This should unpack and ask you to update bios.

After installation do a restart and you should be in business!

Before and after pics included along with error if you don't follow the instructions.

BTW CPUZ reads X5450 as E5450 at top but bios and the rest of CPUZ are correct**

*****As of 11/10/2016 I was made aware by DeathBringer that these bios support all X5400 series xeons on the inspiron 518.*****

As always,
Thank you Bios-Mods community.

I still have my X5460 from when I did the Inspiron 545 mod on here.

I have a Dell Optiplex 755 full tower with a q35 chipset, does this support the X5xxx processors?

My Dell Precision only supports the X53xx and X51XX processors.. X5460 mod for that too?

P5KR memory support

1) If I install one of the modded bios for a P5KR motherboard will it also improve it's memory compatibility?

Whenever I put the max 8GB  DDR2-800 (4*2GB) of memory in it, it does not boot.

But the sticks are different by the pair, so that may the cause.

2) Other than to solve this issue is it also worth it to install a modded version?

3) And how would I go about making a new version, if it's easy?

help please

[REQUEST] BIOS FULL Unlock Lenovo Y50-70 UHD (V3.03 9ECN43WW) and Whitelist removed

$

Hello everyone, I want to have my BIOS unlocked and whitelist removed on my Lenovo Laptop Y50-70 UHD (4k) model. So I could change the DVMT pre-allocated memory settings, overclock CPU&RAM in the advanced menu, and replace the old AC-3160 Wireless card with other PCI-E (ngff key E) devices.

I'm sorry for my poor English and I hope you can understand my description Tongue , I'm an Asian student.

-Motherboard Manufacturer and Model : Lenovo Y50-70 4K UHD (not touch)
-Bios Version: V3.03 9ECN43WW ,download at http://pcsupport.lenovo.com:
https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mob...cn43ww.exe
-Bios Type : Insyde UEFI BIOS

There are my bios image and my Bios screen on the botton (all in one RAR):

.rar   Lenovo Y50-70 UHD 3.03 9ECN43WW ITBS.rar (Size: 6.49 MB / Downloads: 1)
(File "LENOVO-9ECN43WW(V3.03).rom" is backuped by Universal Bios Backup,
and File "bios_bak.bin" is backuped by fptw64)

Is it possible to add NVME support to my BIOS?  So that I can install a PCI-E SSD Cool (with an adapter card) on the ngff slot (and boot OS on it), which is originally used by the Intel AC-3160 Wireless card.

Hello everyone.
I am new to the forum and I am really happy to be here.

I am facing a problem with my Toshiba c660-11x  (short model no. PSC0LE) and I was wondering if someone could provide some help.
I have recently upgraded my CPU from a Pentium T4500 to an Intel T7500. The laptop boots up correctly but unfortunately I am getting an error message during POST that reads:
Code:
Code:

Press <F1> to resume, <F2> to Setup

I updated to the latest bios (v170) from the toshiba site but no luck.

If someone is know how to help me thanks Smile
