Hello,

I have read so much my head is buzzing.......Huh

My Laptop:
HP Pavillion G 71 343US
BIOS HP F.14
Processor T-6600
Windows 7 (64bit)

The HP site recommends F.23 with F.21 as previous.
My F.14 is not listed anywhere as previous for the G71..??
The nearest is F.13A and with previous F.12A

this is current upgrade to F.23

Wanted:
Whitelist removal (tried an Intel 802.11AC card and rec'd 304 error)
"other" boot menu access (although I'm not sure why)
SLIC in-out-why ? I don't know. How can it help ? What can it do ?

About virtualization, I have installed and use Windows Virtual PC (XP) on this laptop. Does that mean that the T-6600 can run hardware virtualization ? Or is it really a software application ?

I don't know what Insyde BIOS is.
I don't know how/why UEFI is important to install new BIOS.

I have installed BIOS upgrades before, both from DOS and Windows.

I have read in different threads about the HP_recovery partition. Some say to keep and some say to delete... which one ?

I have read that a corrupt BIOS still needs "______" to be recovered. Is that true ? What is "_____" ?

A link to the reliable BIOS recovery technique please.

A link to how to backup my current BIOS.

What else to we need to know ? Thanks.
