This is my first post on the forum, I am so glad I found it as I was ready to toss my laptop(actually my gf's laptop) she will not let it go haha, she is not a super user or anything. However, being able to use office, email, facebook is all she needs it for, I have already upgraded it hardware wise with an AMD athlon x2 3800+, 2gb's memory, etc.
But windows won't recognize it as a dual core, I want to be able to enable it in the bios as well, and any virtualization the bios is locked down pretty tight not many options. since I am planning on installing windows 8.1 on it, link to the file is here HP BIOS.. Thank You in advance.
Would I need to post a request on the CPU upgrades for the dual core issue, when I ran upgrade assistant windows 8 said the cpu doesn't support ComputeExchange 128, or LAHF/SAHF, but i checked coreinfo and it said it did, well any advice on this would be helpful as well as I have googled it and came to a bit of a dead end.
Again Thank you so much in advance.
