Lenovo Ideapad Whitelist Removal

I'm so relieved to have found this forum and I hope you can help me.
I have a Lenovo Ideapad s510p touch that won't accept a new Intel 7260 dual band network card.
Phoenix bios version 89CN25WW
System information also lists a bios version date of 8/7/2013 if that matters.
Current network card is Qualcomm Atheros AR956X
