Hi there,
Don't know if im breaking the rules on here. Im new on these and was looking for some info, I have a old mainboard an ECS P4M800PRO-M v1.0a that has a memory problem. Since it has a Pentium Dual Core 3,0 Ghz and had only 512 Mb DDR2 533 SDRAM, I was hopeing to put it back working again with a 1 stick with 2 Gb DDR2 533 SDRAM (since the mainboard manufacturer site says it supports up to 2 Gb) and it did boot up, but only recognize 1 Gb of RAM.
I googled on it and found a lot of people asking on these problem and all of them came to deadends to this problem, other than that one comment that is posible through bios mod to resolve these issue.
I have updated it with the latest version on the bios supported by the manufacturer that is the 070626 realeased on 2007/06/26.
The specs are:
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Product...16&LanID=9
North Bridge: VIA P4M800Pro
South Bridge: VIA VT8237R+
Dont know ehere to start these kind of mod.
