Good afternoon people;

I have had this motherboard for while now, however after a bit of research and being on the phone for awhile, I found that Asus have no rights to this motherboard, so to speak, therefore they provide no support for it!

The motherboard is covered by RM Education, which i can only think is a company that distributes computers, for educational purposes, meaning that they will limit the compatibility so that people like me can't use them, and build them into a new system.

The problem i'm having is that i cannot find a bios that is compatible, which will result in my being able to change the CPU. Which at the moment its got a Celeron G550 which is all it'll take.

The Asus website is no help, as their drivers/bios' are for their version of the board.

I was wondering if their was a bios hack, or even a copy of the bios that i need somewhere. I have searched rigorously and still not found anything.

If its possible then it would save me some money, and give the kids a decent PC to play games on.

OS Version: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit
Processor: Intel® Celeron® CPU G550 @ 2.60GHz, Intel64 Family 6 Model 42 Stepping 7
Processor Count: 2
RAM: 8171 Mb
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760, -1 Mb
Hard Drives: C: Total - 457359 MB, Free - 62869 MB;
Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer INC., P8H61-I/RM/SI REV1.00

The current bios is 0403 - 23/06/2011

Much appreciated!

Hi guys , i'm hoping somebody would be good enough to mod this bios with slic 2.1

Motherboard Manufacturer and Model : asus p8z68-v pro (not GEN3)
-Bios Revision :3603
-Bios Type : AMI
-Bios SLIC : ASUS
-Bios Link : http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/...042.1469251753
-Rw-everything report - https://www.sendspace.com/file/ehne10

I've asked for an ASUS slic as that is what the make is but to be honest if it was a dell (which seem popular) or something else i don't mind
Also under the bios link i selected the download for winsows 7 64bit but if another version is needed you can chooses the OS version and then the bios from this page

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8...Desk_Download/

I've modded by own bios in the past but a bit scared of these efi ones so thanks for any help.

Is this possible? USB 3.0 booting on my x58 mobo?

Hello, I have no clue where to ask this question, or if I can request a modification of my BIOS.

I have a ASUS Rampage III Extreme with a USB 3.0 Renesas uPD720200F1 chipset on board (PCIe x1 chip with 2 USB 3.0 ports). This exact chipset on every other board on Earth allows you to boot using USB 3.0 devices, such as the SanDisk Extreme's etc. However my BIOS refuses to see USB 3.0 devices on the Renesas USB 3.0 chipset. I can only boot to USB 2.0 devices on the USB 3.0 ports (WTF?). Further, in Windows the Renesas USB 3.0 chip is getting me 255 MB/s reads and 130 MB/s writes, so I know for fact the chip and USB 3.0 ports are OK.

So, I have to assume Asus forgot to include some code in my BIOS that allows the BIOS to boot to USB 3.0 bootable devices. ALL 100% of other Motherboards with my EXACT chipset boots USB 3.0 devices just fine. Why doesn't mine? My buddies Gigabyte x58 UD3 with the same chip boots all of his SanDisk Extreme's, but I can't see a single USB 3.0 device no matter what brand or model it is. I have to put all my USB 3.0 devices on USB 2.0 ports just to use them in the BIOS for booting, which completely defeats the purpose for me. So I really need help to figure this out. I have tried EVERYTHING imaginable in regards to BIOS USB settings, but the symptom is the same.

Where in these forums can I ask for help with my AMI BIOS to see if USB 3.0 Booting is unlockable, or even possible on the R3E? I just want to see my USB 3.0 bootable devices after hitting the F8 key.

Please Help if you think you know what is happening and if its fixable. Thank you very much.

Best Regards
Rod

P.S. I have all the BIOS's for my board, modded ones from here and unmodded ones.

Laptop: Toshiba Satellite L500-19R (PSLSOE)
original bios file: http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-file...135948.zip

Can you please remove the whitelist in this bios file?

I've searched the "confirmed mods" subforum for the Toshibla L500 and found this thread from 2011. In the last comment user camiloml wrote he removed the whitelist and the mod is available in the Bios Repository. However when I browse to the whitelist directory (here) there is no Toshiba L500, just an A500. I'm not sure if user camiloml referred to this file and if both Laptops use the same bios? The original bios file for the A500 (here) differs in version(2.00) and name (BIOS.rom) from L500 bios file (version: 2.10, name: swaa210a.rom) but the file size is the same.

The following archive includes my DSDT from Windows 10.
All of my drivers and hardware ID's, along with another file I put together myself with the main important Ship.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm looking to get started on the process today.

Thank you so much in advance!  Tongue

Laptop: HP Envy 17t-n100 (M9X69AV)
original bios file: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp76501-77000/sp76635.exe

I searched the confirmed subforum and this BIOS is definitely not listed there.

Can you please remove the whitelist in this bios file?  I'd really like to use the Intel AC-8265 with this laptop and it's definitely not whitelisted, as I found out the hard way earlier when I got the infamous error 104.

I am trying to use an eGPU on this laptop through the mPCIe slot as part of an arcade cabinet build. My troubleshooting has led me to believe it is being prevented from functioning due to whitelisting. I would be very grateful if the whitelisting could be removed! Thanks in advance! Please let me know if any additional information is required.
