HDX18-1080EL Premium - Bios upgrade fails, now no boot, no led, no "beep"...

Hello there!
I have read "all" post and done plenty of research regarding HP bios (no uefi) recovery….

I have an HDX18 1080el laptop that fails bios upgrade... I've wait three days before unplug power cord during insydeflash utility (system become unresponsive after about 1hour)...
I have tried all the methods that are mentioned here and on "all" the other websites but nothing to do, no sign of life

The symptoms are:
laptop seems totally dead only the power light comes on by the charger plug to show that the charger is plugged in, no other lights.

Does any body have any idea of how repair this bios update failure?
I am a technician and I can't believe that it cannot be recovered.

Someone knows a working procedure?

Thanks in advance, bye,

Roberto.

Hi

I have a Lenovo Y50-70 with the following factory 9ECN43WW(V3.03). I want to find out if this system can support up to 32GB of ram within the system without any mods as the current processor i7-4720HQ as per Intel can support up to 32GB in memory.

Thanks in advance

Precision 690 (motherboard MY171 rev A00) quad core support

I'm probably posting a duplicate of some obscure info somewhere, but in quite a bit of searching I haven't found anything that directly addresses my dilemma.

I have a dell precision 690 with an 0MY171 motherboard that is revision A00, and currently I have the A08 bios installed. From hours of research, I've found a couple places where people have said that quad core x53XX CPUs do not work at all on this specific motherboard revision, even though they can be made to work somewhat on older motherboard revisions and the A02 revision of my board model. It appears as though the hardware should be completely able to support the CPU I'm hoping to use, but the bios doesn't have the correct microcode for it. I have no idea where to begin on this, and haven't exactly found a huge amount of info on how to add microcode to a bios image or get it onto the motherboard even.

What I'm looking to do is add microcode for an Intel Xeon x5355 CPU such that I can actually get 8 threads on this thing. Thank you so much in advance for any pointers or other help.

Would be no possibility of making a hybrid bios, with the option of Ncc and Bio-technology Unlocking core, to unlock the cores processors like AMD Althon x3 and x4 Phenom

I even have a board like this, and recently bought the Phenom II X4 925 2.8GHz, however my motherboard not recognize it as a quad core, but as a dual core

I saw based on another bios, bios Name: 87XBD119.BSS, there are similarities with her Bios N68S3B called 68SCPB12.BSS, both have pretty much the same things, however the bios 87XBD119.BSS has the support more core with technology Bio-UnlocKing

It would be possible, I make this request if possible

(Moved from being a reply in another post because it's a different BIOS version)

A whitelist patch is requested by me as well, this is a Yoga 2 Pro with BIOS 76CN43WW.

I've used the lid close suspend/lid open resume bug so the write test are successful [Image: smile.gif]

Thanks for any help - I am able to access the BIOS advanced menu to unlock it, if that becomes necessary

All right let me try to downgrade my folks computer to a proper OS. Can't stand win8.1.

Request Slic 2.1 for ASUS CM1855
Latest BIOS version: AMI UEFI version 1501
Bios location: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/Desktop...5-1501.zip

Thanks for the help!

Question; once SLIC 2.1 tables are inserted into the BIOS, will the Win8 tables be erased or will they still be in there? I just want to know if this is reversible, in case I can't find some win7 drivers or something.

Edit: Tried attaching the RW Everything report, but got an error message saying "the type of file that you attached is not allowed". Weird. So here is the link:

Acer E5-552G bios unlock [urgent]

Hi All

So I have an Acer E15 E5-552G (not to be confused with a V5-552G)

I am trying to use FalseClocks method to modify the PCI power managment in the BIOS as when playing games on my GPU, the PCI bandwidth constantly changes from x8 to x1 which causes HUGE stuttering.

I have opened the bios image and found that is is structured differently to normal Inysde BIOS. Therefore, there is no setup utility to extract the setup vars from!

Anyone who can help me or give me advice please reply!

Here is the link to the BIOS image:

Basically you all know why i'm here, lol. I'm looking to unlock the full power of my ram.  Big Grin

Yes I have an OEM Gateway computer.
Yes I understand they don't allow overclocking by default because it voids the warranty, and they don't want a bunch of warranty claims.
Yes I understand the risk and possibly bricking the computer.

With that being said I still would like to move forward and tap into the full potential of this ram or atleast give it a slight boost using the default XMP profile for "safe" overclocking. In order to do that I apparently have to overclock from the bios, and In order to overclock from bios my bios has to be flashed to a version that allows overclocking. I believe this is the only way I can do this. This is something I want to do before I spend a bunch of money purchasing a completely new ASUS motherboard and computer tower.

And with that being said here are my computer specs:

-----------------------
Windows 7 (6.1) Home Premium Edition 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i7 2600

Motherboard:
Manufacturer - Gateway
Model - FX6850
Chipset - Intel Sandy Bridge
Southbridge - Intel H67

Bios:
Brand - American Megatrends Inc.
Version - P01-A3
Date - 02/18/2011

Graphics Card: GeForce GT 640
Board Manufacturer - ASUSTeK Computer
Size - 2048 MBytes
Type - DDR3

[Image: 1130-3__21312.1418421670.1280.1280.jpg?c=2]

Ram: 16 GB
Type - DDR3
Manufacturer - Corsair
1600 Mhz
timing 9-9-9-24

PSU 550 watts

------------------------

So how I was planning on going about this originally was to 1st to backup my current bios of course. To do that, I was going to follow this tutorial I found on youtube here:

Then next I was going to find the modded version for the bios I have now, and then of course proceed with flashing my bios following another tutorial. I found this bios rom online: Asus bios. It appears to be a bios for overclocking an ASUS nvidia graphics card which I actually have. Now I believe I actually can currently overclock my graphics card from my desktop without modding or updating the bios with the app that came with my graphics card. However I figured if I used this bios that it would allow me to overclock other things like the ram maybe?  Blush  However, that's why I am here. To find the best bios that will allow me to overclock for my computer. I actually came here from another forum where a user with a similar setup to mine has apparently accomplished this goal and referred to you all. Since this website is called "bios-mods" I figured this is what you guys specialize in.

I have pretty much maxed out my computer in upgrades for the most part (At least how I want it). This is pretty much my last step. I even managed to install a 3TB drive to my OEM computer. After installing it successfully there is a minor shutdown issue where the computer doesn't turn off fully, however I believe this might be another bios issue *cough*, such as how the voltage is distributed maybe? In any case, I know there's plenty of things that can be done to a computer to make it better to the point where it's limitless almost. However I am basically at that point with this particular build where the limit is reached, and I just want to tap into that hidden potential. Might not be the most powerful computer but for my needs it will suffice if I can do this last thing probably.

So here is my request; Can you all create or provide a link to a modded or unlocked bios that will allow my OEM computer to be overclock? Even if you all have to create it from scratch I will wait for it and appreciate it. Also can you provide the appropriate steps of how to apply this bios?

Again I am aware of the risk and how "It's not allowed" by default. However I still would like to try it. I don't plan on going into my bios everyday per say, however if done successfully I might be able to overclock my ram and maybe even fix that minor power issue after I installed my 3tb hard drive. Who knows? (You guys I assume Wink ) Just give me some good news on this topic and not the politically correct "It's impossible" jargon.

Bios unlock/overclocking for Dell XPS 430

Hi All,

I'm brand new to this site and I found very limited information about this subject but I'm pretty sure somebody said it is Pheonix Bios on the Dell. It is in bits at the moment so I can't check.

I am going to be installing a socket 771 Xeon X5460 CPU, 16GB RAM and a pro power PSU. I am hoping to get some bios help from the guy who sold me the LGA 775 to 771 conversion kit.

I want to have  some fun with it and see how much I can overclock it it.

There is a member on here called Nico112 who posted in 2012, saying he had overclocked his Dell xps 430 but I can't PM him and he hasn't replied to the post (It was a while ago!) he may not even use this site anymore.. Huh

Any help will be gratefully received. I have already bought all the new bits

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 rev 2
Latest bios (F.48) to be found at http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55...55430.exe.
The one before that (F.47) to be found at http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp52001-52...52190.exe.

I have found (and tried) the files by Camiloml at https://www.bios-mods.com/BIOS/index.php...miloml.exe and https://www.bios-mods.com/BIOS/index.php...miloml.exe respectively.

The outcome was the same in both cases. The system allowed for a normal boot with my new mini pci card (Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 rev 2) but when installing the Intel drivers, only the Bluetooth component started. No matter what I did, no network connection was possible (although I could see the nic in the device manager). WHen re-booting and entering the bios, the pc froze for half a minute and then proceeded to bios recovery mode and re-installed the HP Bios (F.48).

I'm assuming this bios needs some re-education...
