Flash mod Bios ( secure flash )

Hi there,

I modded the BIOS of my S430 to whitelist a specific Wifi Card.

Now I have the trouble that I cannot flash this modded Bios.

When I try FPTW64 it get Error 28: Protected Range Registers.
When I try FPT in DOS ( even with the prr tool ) I also get Error 28.
And When I try to snuck in my modded BIOS into the
vendors Flash utility it won't let me because it's not signed Sad

It's an UEFI Insyde Bios.

I modded the FL1 ones from the vendor and
the ROM one that I got from @sovem 's tool.

All I need to do is flash it, but how? Sad

edit: I am so silly, my first search didn't put up the thread so I made a new one
but Falseclock already asked that question, sorry :/

edit2: But he had a slightly different problem.

Xeon Gallatin MP (SL79Z, SL79V) in Dell Poweredge 1600SC

Hi everyone,
great forum here, just registered a few minutes ago.

I have a Dell Poweredge 1600SC, and would like to use it with Xeon Gallatin MP's, SL79Z, Stepping C0.
This works without problems, except one issue:

The BIOS displays "Warning! No microcode loaded for CPU", and expects the user to press F1 to proceed to boot.
It seems not possible to deactivate the F1 message like in other mainboards, so a start without a keyboard attached is not possible.

Is it possible to modify a BIOS with the appropriate microcode?
(else, automatically skipping/suppressing the F1 message would also be sufficient!)

If it is possible to include a second microcode, the SL79V would be perfect - but is not as important now.

The original Bios can be downloaded here:
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/e...rid=R87575

For a possible donor Bios:
The board has the ServerWorks Grand Champion SL chipset.
I did not find a bios with this chipset featuring the SL79Z, but one with the Grand Champion HE - maybe this is simlar enough to help.
It is the PowerEdge 6650, the Bios is here:
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/e...rId=R57300

Thanks a lot for your help!

can someone modding this bios plz

Need BIOS File to correct problem with motherboard

This thread is posted for assistance to complete the flashing/updating of an Award BIOS which is installed on a MSI PM8M-V VIA*P4M800+VT8237 Chipset motherboard.

It is my belief in trying to analyze and troubleshoot the recent problems with a computer I built for a friend about 8 years ago, that this computer was infected with Mebromi Malware which is said to contain-"a bit of everything: a BIOS rootkit specifically targeting Award BIOS, a MBR rootkit, a kernel mode rootkit, a PE file infector and a Trojan downloader." (the link to this quote is; http://blog.webroot.com/2011/09/13/mebro...the-wild/)

I have removed and replaced three hard drives, removed any and all of the installed expansion cards, two memory modules, removed the BIOS/CMOS battery for two days, tried to install four different operating systems (i.e. Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows XP Home, Windows XP Pro), utilized various commands in the XP repair console to try to solve this unit booting into any operating system, with no success.

Near the end of this troubleshooting process the computer was stripped down to the absolute minimum hardware necessary to boot, with only the integrated hardware available on-board the motherboard, with no positive results.

I have downloaded from this web-site all of the necessary items to do a USB boot of this computer, along with the appropriate Award Flash Utility. All that remains is acquiring the appropriate BIOS for this particular motherboard.

The original manufacture "MSI" was searched for the appropriate BIOS, but they required that you download a BIOS scanner before the BIOS is provided. AND, this is to occur while you are in WINDOWS! (I cannot boot into Windows!)

Could you please provide any information or a direction I can take to obtain the appropriate BIOS version or update that will allow me to flash the original (infected BIOS) via USB (by USB FLoppy Disk, or USB thumbdrive) with the original or updated MSI BIOS for this particular motherboard?

(Sorry for such a long post, but I have spent a considerable amount of time in trying to solve this problem.)

Thanks for your time. G-Mog

After I had installed windows 8 [from windows 7 pro] on my HP Pavilion dv6 1215ee, I was trying to merge the 100 mb that is present in the hard disk (for the bios) to my 500 gb. Now my system keeps restarting again and again saying that an error occurred. I am complete noob to this. Any help would be really appreciated.

Good atfernoon, this is my first post on this so bare with me a little. Smile

I been doing a ton of search and lurking for possible leads and information regarding whitelisting a Bios. I have grown familiar with the process and after ton of searching and just absolute headaches. I believe i managed to finally make a backup of my current bios.

I used FTK_0.9.6.1_Win, and managed to make a Biosbck.bin file which i am assuming is an intact backup of the current bios on my system.

I would love to request assistance on what should be my next step, in order to have this bios whitelisted & flashed on my system.

I was just about to upload the file and share here, unfortunately i do have one small concern. Since this system came with a windows 8 installation, i believe i was informed that the windows 8 OEM key is embedded on the bios. And of course if this is so, the last thing i wan't to do is risk giving out my OEM key. Big Grin Am i incorrect in this matter? If so, let me know so i could upload the biosback.bin and get assistance.

Thank you for your time!

Asus PC - Auto Power up on AC supply

$

Hi,
I have an Asus PC that I intend to embed within an enclosed/sealed unit (kiosk) - these units will be remotely managed. I would like the PC to automatically power/boot up when an AC supply is connected - everytime. If someone shuts a PC down by accident, I want them to be able to plug it back in again in order to restart the machine.

This is the motherboard:
E7987_P8Z77-I_DELUXE.pdf

http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q...2k&cad=rja

The option of 'Restore AC Power Loss' doesn't work for me as this does not capture all the scenarios which will enable me to restart the PC.

How can I get a resolution to this problem? customer bios, hardware (switch) change - options appreciated....also where I would get a solution performed.

Thanks
Dan
