Hi all,

I'm trying to unlock my bios, to enable hidden settings. I hope to be able to perform overclocking on my Laptop (Thinkpad Edge E145).
I have a Phoenix BIOS Menu called "Config", and under there "Serial SATA (SATA)", "Beep and Alarm" and some more, sub-menu's. However, I am unable to
find these strings in the extracted BIOS files.

So I tried to find interesting strings by random, and found these:
SpeedStep ( CoreMultiProcessing
CPUPowerManagement
LenovoHiddenSetting
LenovoSecurityConfig
AMDSetup
AMDSetup2
LenovoSecurityConfig
AMD_cpm_setup
LenovoConfig

Then I found this interesting code:

I think by forcing this jump, I might enable this sub-menu. However, its very new to me and I do not want to brick my BIOS.. Can someone tell me if I'm on the right track, or perhaps help me with unlocking my BIOS?

I have an HP xw6600 workstation and I want to update the SATA-RAID module to let me use a 4 tbyte HD without loosing data, but I was not able to open the BIOS file.

Hi everyone, I am very upset right now because of these whitelist's that I guess HP and other manufactures put on computers. Ive never heard of them before and this is a first to me as I am trying to fix my intermittent WiFi on my Netbook. I am soo glad I found this website!

So After Installing my new Intel Dual Band AC 7260 card I was greeted with the 104 error. So I tried to install the newest Bios, and that did not get rid of the error.

If someone could help me in successfully allowing me to use my new Wifi card I would really appreciate it and help you or the site out with a donation.

Current BIOS: Insyde F.24 sp52451.exe

I wasn't exactly too sure which ID i was looking for, so here are some SS of the NEW INTEL card

I have the above currently redundant motherboard which I'm hoping
to put Win 8 on. The specs are completely adequate for this purpose
but the bios does not allow me to enable the NX bit as there is no
advanced settings for the CPU. The default value is 0.

I have investigated the appropriate AMD documentation and I believe
that all I need is for processor initialisation by the bios to enable
this bit. The register is the EFER register and NXE is controlled by
bit 11. The appropriate documentation can be found on page 368 of the 'AMD
Hammer family Processor BIOS and Kernel Developers guide'.

This register is already accessed during set-up I'm sure as for example
long mode is controlled from there. I don't need the advanced settings
screen, Just this bit set on.

I have this notebook from Novatech, wich is the same Medion Erazer x6815 here on NotebookCheck.net
I had updated its bios to version 209 from a file I had found on russian forums (I can't find it anymore), but now my dedicated vga is getting "not enough free resources" error on windows. Maybe this file was for a notebook without the dedicated card?

Can't find a bios image in Novatech's site. Found an a25 bios version 207, but WinFlash won't let me install a file older then the actual one. Tried running with "/nodate" but it treats its arguments as a path to file and gives error "file not found: /nodate".
Found bios for Medion, but it has a different model name (image attached).
So, what I want is some help/advise as how to modify model in that Medion bios file to install it in my laptop. Or a modified version.
I'm not really concerned about cosmetic things as the splash screen or model names as long as this laptop works again.

Sorry for bad english, and thanks for reading!

Hi, I hope to remove the whitelist from my Lenovo z510 with 8DCN38WW bios. I have added a backup of my BIOS. I also have done some test to see if my BIOS is flashable. I really hope so! I have bought a Intel AC 7260 module.

I saw that BDMaster released a generalized bios for the Acer v3-772g that uses dos and fpt.exe to flash his modified bios in this thread.

I was really excited to flash this and enabled vt-d vt-x in my bios so I attempted this on my v3-772g-9402.

After I boot into dos and run flash.bat I keep getting error 103 no valid spi flash devices. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if I need a new fparts.txt for fpt.exe.

Any insight or help would be appreciated!

Hi

Recently I bought Dell Aurora R4 board and Xeon E5 2609.
I put them together , but the system will not post.
I guess this probably is due to the cpu support of the motherboard.

I tried myself to to that, but no success..
Tried to extract,with phoenixtool258, from the executable the bios image. It gives me error codes: "Bad command parameter" and "failed to extract HDR file"
