Hello!

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E130 3358-CTO with a crappy broadcom wifi card and I'm trying to upgrade it to an Intel one (more compatible with linux).
I've been using the search engine of the forum for hours without a good result. All modded BIOS links where broken. Even the links for the "tools" (like FPT or the one to flash de modded bios) were broken too.
So I have no idea how to remove the whitelist check in my bios.
Can anyone provide tools and instructions to do it please?
Also, keep in mind that I don't have any running windows machine to do all the stuff. I hope there's a way to do all the steps in linux.

Hello,

Can someone please remove the white list from this version (60cn97ww.exe) of the Z585 BIOS? I've tried changing to the previously white listed 93 version, but it won't let me downgrade.

I've tried doing it myself, but I can't extract the file or find a program that will give me a good back-up.

I want to replace the wi-fi card AR5B195 with BCM943225 HMB，can someone help me to remove the white list (U410 65cn99ww)?I have tried to change the
BCM43227 ID(14e4 4358) to BCM43225（14E4 4357）in 65cn99ww.CAP with phoenix TOOL 2.56,but failed( verification).

I woulld like to update my acer aspire v3 + 772G from bios v1.13 to the latest Bios version 1.15 using Dos from a USB stick.?, rather than using the .exe file from windows to avoid any failed flash problem.
I have spoken to Acer support but they were not forthcoming how to do this.
I have downloaded file which is VA70V115.exe and have extracted all the files the
Bios appears to be isflash.fd file.

Could anybody who knows give me an Idiot guide of how to this to avoid any flash problems?
I intend to put in a Bios mod request once I have upgraded to this latest Bios.

Hello, I need to be able to switch to fixed scheme via switchable graphics menu. It seems to be hidden, though. Also, I know little about coding and tweaking hardware. You, guys, are my only hope!

I've got this legendary socket 939 motherboard DFI LP UT SLI-DR Expert chipset nForce4 SLI almost new only one SATA port is somewhat messed up missing those plastic parts from both sides , bought this mobo really cheap ~ 55 $ from well known Romanian site okazii.ro , and I put it on my FX-60 dual core ( yeah ,THAT one! ) and some KINGSTON value memory and tried to boot my rig.Here is my problem now:this board is working those 4 red diagnostic LEDS start 4,3,2 next only one left so no "4 LEDs of death" syndrome for me and the onboard speaker beeps ONCE which I know is a good thing but I cannot enter BIOS to setup things there as I need Del key on my PS2 keyboard is NOT working as it should I press the key and the result is 0 nada nothing (and I tried with another USB keyboard , of course) , first I see the boot logo from DFI after that I see these error messages "CMOS checksum error - defaults loaded , press F1 to continue or Del to enter setup" and when I press F1 sometimes I see this message "Verifying Pool Data and Backup CMOS OK!" and other times I see "Sil3114 SATA RAID Press Ctrl-S or F4 to enter RAID utility".One more thing to add is that I can actually use boot menu selection using Esc key to select HDD,CD-ROM or some other option like floppy and memory stick boot and this board actually can boot using CD/DVD I already tried UBCD rescue CD and some Linux live distros (now I use Windows XP Pro SP3 to write this) to see if it's not a problem with my FX-60 processor and I'm happy that it is working well is all good no problem here actually I've seen it's name and working frequency ~ 2616 Mhz at POST, please help me to solve this problem with my mobo.

Hi!

Can someone help me and whitelist my U310 65cn89ww.
I would like to replace the wifi card like everybody that owns this ultrabook.

Is version 65cn21ww newer or older than my 65cn89ww?
I also see people with ver.90 and even higher... How do I get those versions if on LENOVO website they only have ver.21?

I tried flashing 65cn21ww from Lenove site on my system but I got:
"ERROR 233 - Only secured capsule is allowed on a SecureFlash system! Status = 1"
(I have win7x64 and win8.1x64 in dual-boot)

Guys, could you tell me - has this motherboard (GA-G31M-ES2L (Rev.2.3)) possibility to change HDD mode from IDE to AHCI??

Hello
I have a sony vaio PCG-7182M and it stoped working. It has power but it's not posting properly. No signal on screen (internal+external). I've checked ram+ cpu and temps with no success. Also its not problem of the onboard ATI bga cause i reheat it 2 times with no results. I've disoldered the bios soc and put it on a programmer that i have. The bios chip cannot be accessed. no read no write. The programmer works fine. For testing i disoldered 5 other bios chips from spare motherboards (soc 8pin) and i can read and write them fine! so i assume its a faulty chip..?.. I found the bios for the laptop (it was setup.exe so i extracted with U.E and took the rom) and write it to a new bios chip. I soldered it on the motherboard but i have not even power. its 100% dead. Any advice ? for the reprogramming i found the same bios soc (mx 8pin). Is the *.rom that i extracted from the bios setup proper for flashing ? Thank you in advance

Hi,

First off, I'm new to this so please forgive me if I've posted in the wrong place.

I would be extremely grateful if someone could unlock/modify the Dell Inspiron 1525 bios which can be downloaded from here:

When I fire up my laptop the bios conducts some hardware tests including checking the rating of the ac adapter. Unfortunately the identifier wire in the Dell adapter has a design flaw resulting in the bios struggling to read the rating. In this instance current is still sent to the laptop but the bios records a status of unknown adapter type and duly reduces cpu performance and prevents the battery from being charged.

I would like to switch off or by-pass the adapter rating check so the battery can charge and cpu operate at 100%.

Hi all i have a hp p6032uk comp its my sons and he has done something to it some1 has told me he messed up the bios i have removed the bat and held power button for 30 secs then put it back in and rebooted i get the startup screen then it gets stuck on detecting hardware something like that i then turn it off and restart it and its just blank so i have to then take batt out again to reset everything now ive downloaded what i believe is the right bios when i unzip it its a VLE5.22 file i put it on a usb stick and try and hold the win key and b but im having no luck what so ever ive also disconnected the hdd and the dvd drive and all other wires to make sure it was just running barebones please could i get some help many thanks in advance
